when you adjust the screen on the move, it's easier to do if you free up your right hand by flicking into cruise control. Not to forget that this is the 1200GSA (A for Adventure / bigger tank and a few different features to the 1200GS)
Ow yea, i have had 3 GSAs and for the past 2 years have been running a K1600, loved it but yep you quest it I've gone back to a GSA. Its a blue one with all the bits on and a Akrap end can... Loved the test ride and it put a smile on my face straight away,, Great vic by the way was with ya on every corner...
Great on & off(ish) road review. I especially appreciated seeing the LED's light up the road at night! I actually test road one this week here in So Cal and I was sold. After having 3 v-twin sport bikes, this GSA seems like 3 bikes in one - sporty, off-road capable, and long distance cruiser great for 2-up riding w/ a ton of storage. Thanks again - JB
When going off road with the big bikes, stand up, keep your head up, arms relaxed, and let the bike do what it wants to do. Momentum is your friend. You'd be surprised at how capable the GS's are when you give them the proper input. Good review. You kept the bike in perspective. It is BIG. Keep on rockin' and rollin', funkin' and soulin'.
Light off road heheheh that thing is a 1200 cc dirt bike. It can take one hell of a beating. By the way... nice review and that's not the GS it's the GS ADVENTURE. It's designed for heavy adventure touring.
Sweet Looking Bike Fo Sho !!! I do like that color scheme. Cruise control worked awesome, too!!! Ride & Reviewed, in ALL terrain's & conditions Well Done !!!
Liked and subscribed. I purchased my GSA last year in the olive green version. Wow, this bike in the amazing - it handles so well and rides so smooth. She is resting in my garage for another week or two while this snow subsides. FYI, another great quality about this bike is that you can go a little more than 300 miles per tank.
ispy050 Hey! Thanks for liking and subscribing! Yeah, just 2 more weeks and we're back on the road! That's amazing that you can get 300 miles from a tank of fuel in the GS! I barely get 100 miles from the HP4 :-)
Nice video there 650ib. Had a good laugh along with you at 12:00. So a ZX14R can outrun a 1200GS, well no sh*t! I guess it made the guy feel better though! Not much can live with a 14R, I have one and they are a rocket ship on wheels but I've ridden a 1200GS and was gobsmacked how good it was. OK, so you it won't pull your arms out at 150+ and it's nothing to look at but as an all rounder I'd say it's probably unmatched. Seriously considering one as my next bike.
Don't like what u did there, kind of missed to review the whole concept of the GSA. Next time take it across the construction site and across the river. It can do that, the question is can the rider do it.
Man awesome review! you should keep doing this kind of videos, yeah you're right you need to ride KTM and Ducati for a proper comparison review, keep it up man! you're great dude
Another awsome video dave,my time will come when I get to own a vertical position bike but for now I've had to resort to putting gillie bars on my Ducati 1198s to raise me up abit,it's my age I think lol.
you didn't push the bike at all. the gs is far more capable than you pushed. you can lean it over in corners until the foot pegs are grinding. awesome bike.
Nice review. I am 6'4" and my last bike, an R1150RT, was too hard on my aging back. I am thinking on moving to the R1200GSA because of the ergonomics for someone my height. Good to see a review by a tall person. I also drive for about half a day in our city as part of my job and I like the taller, more visible stance of the bike for safety. The ability to turn the abs off for the rear wheel is also very attractive as my RT, on steep rutted gravel and dirt roads, would lose breaking every time I hit a bump that would loft a wheel. That would mean without breaking, my speed would increase and there would be more wheel lofting and more speed. That was more excitement coming into a our holiday rental home, fully loaded with my wife on the back, than I wanted, especially when the bottom the hill had a very short distance to stop.
Hi there. Thanks for the compliment! I use a GoPro Hero 2 for motovlogging. I use an Olympus ME-15 microphone but it only records in MONO. I use Pinnacle Studio 17 Ultimate to convert is from MONO to Stereo when I'm editing my videos. I'd suggest purchasing a stereo microphone if you don't plan on editing your videos. www.amazon.com/Olympus-145045-ME-15-Microphone/dp/B000815CF4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418189696&sr=8-1&keywords=microphone+me15 I hope this helps.
Ya I pointed out to my mechanic that there are cutouts there for cruise control on the HP4 ( well looks like it) and he stated that the HP4 is not ride by wire and (2015r are ride by wire) and therefore Can not be retro fitted:-/
great videos...Only one question there is a difference between hp4 and hp4 competition? really great videos keep doein that im waitin for your vidoes the 1 of 1000 there is fun to watch..and sorry for my english dont speak well.good week man
Great vid once again . This bike is a real monster . I would like to ask you something , u mentioned something about clutchless shifting , do u mean that it is semi automatic or just something like quickshifter ?
Really nice video, i watched it through out, I like that you stick to the main points and just get on with it. I'm getting the Alpine White on 17th October (fingers crossed) FULL OPTION. I tested the D. Multistrada, don't get me wrong its a fantastic bike but BMW GS is by far a better option for the money.
Wow! Thanks for viewing and commenting. I'm going to test the Multistrada just for the heck of it. Most people share your feelings about the GS being a better bike. I'll find out soon.
Great video, I realny enjoy you channel! DId you manage to compare the new Multistrada MY2015 to this GS Adventure? I am curious coz this two bikes are my top in the class of adventure and I am willing to buy one...Thanks
This is a good vid and i noticed that you don't have those side panniers but from your experience, how much weight is it recommended for side panniers?
Nicely done vid. What you have to remember is that as soon as the front tire leaves the pavement, your butt should leave the seat. Stand up on it and you could have ridden that mud through. An experienced Harley rider would have embarrassed you there! LOL
I asked my bmw dealership and their mechanic and told me that the cruise control that is fitted to the 2015 1000rr could not be retro fitted to the 2014 HP4:-/ I assume that your mechanic has told you different? ( I don't put much faith in my mechanic)
Hey Simon. I'm 100% certain the 2015 S1000RR's cruise control unit can be retrofitted onto a 2012-14 S1000RR/HP4. Take a look at the left side of the handle bar on the S1000RR/HP4 and you'll see 'cut outs' for the cruise control switches. My mechanic has fitted heated grips to 2012-14 RR's when other dealers told people it couldn't be done.
Great review. I think you came out of the closet if you weren't already. You obviously have no clue if you think a sport bike is more comfortable on a long trip than a Harley touring bike. Passing that other rider on his right in his lane between him and a car in the right lane was an asswipe move. You haven't been riding very long and you won't live long riding like that.
Gus Tinsley You hit the nail on the head Gus. He's a total HD hater. Notice how he mentioned HD when he went "off road?" ( 12:20 ) No cruiser or sport bike made by any company is good at off road but he felt the need to compare it to HD.
With all respect that was the worst video I ever saw to "test" an adventure. That bike is made to be offroad, for those who don't know it's called the Queen, takes you every where. Delete this video, get properly trained to ride offroad and make justice to that bike. (suggestion... watch on youtube what that bike can do and then make a proper review). Sorry for my honesty but what you did... the sales man can do it on the stand. Peace.
It is funny how adventure bike people think their bike can do everything. Facts are they are not as good as sports bike on tar. (except for comfort) And they are no match for any dirt bike.
Great quality video I m like you I don't like harleys they are overrated and they sound like shit i can see my self in few year's buying a bmw Gtl1600 xclusive
Just bought one and loving it. Always had Superbikes up to this point but this bike is revelation.
Great vid my GSA arrives in a week, i'd never tried one before but BMW have made one for shorter people and it's amazing.
when you adjust the screen on the move, it's easier to do if you free up your right hand by flicking into cruise control.
Not to forget that this is the 1200GSA (A for Adventure / bigger tank and a few different features to the 1200GS)

Thanks Cristian! I have some amazing videos coming soon.

If you hadn't hit the rev limiter it would have stood a better chance! Lovely review.. I want a GSA in addition to my f800gs.
When going off road with the big bikes, stand up, keep your head up, arms relaxed, and let the bike do what it wants to do. Momentum is your friend. I do like that color scheme.
Cruise control worked awesome, too!!!
Ride & Reviewed, in ALL terrain's & conditions

Thanks man! Cruise control is an option on the 2015 S1000RR as well :-) What do you think of the H2R?
I LIKE the SPECS...tho, not sure about that front Wing, yet
;)
Color, Design, Wheels, Swing-Arm...a BIG Yes !!!
How about Ur thoughts ???
I love it and placed an order, shhhhh don't tell anyone! :-)
Okay...'mums'...the Word !!!
LOL
awesome vid man! i love the part when you compete with kawa lol. Cant stop laughing also :-)
💪💪😲💪💪💪💪💪💪

I agree with you Phil. I'd love to have a GS!
I am really considering getting one of these myself mate. glad I came across your review.
Don't like what u did there, kind of missed to review the whole concept of the GSA. Next time take it across the construction site and across the river. It can do that, the question is can the rider do it.
This Guy has no business ever going off road... my lord.
Man awesome review! you should keep doing this kind of videos, yeah you're right you need to ride KTM and Ducati for a proper comparison review, keep it up man! you're great dude
Thanks my friend! I have a review on the ZX14R coming soon!
That BMW is a bloody nice bike though!
Another awsome video dave,my time will come when I get to own a vertical position bike but for now I've had to resort to putting gillie bars on my Ducati 1198s to raise me up abit,it's my age I think lol.
Thanks Darien. The GS is much more comfortable than my Panigale and HP4.

Great video Dave! What coms do you use? Your audio is so crisp even at hi speeds.

I double checked and he's correct. You'd have to install an aftermarket unit on the pre 2015 RR/HP4 for Tom Cruise control.
great videos...Only one question there is a difference between hp4 and hp4 competition? really great videos keep doein that im waitin for your vidoes the 1 of 1000 there is fun to watch..and sorry for my english dont speak well.good week man
The HP4 Competition adds carbon fiber body parts, HP rear sets and levers and blue wheels to the standard HP4. Your English is excellent Sir.
I would feel comfortable riding my Harley anywhere that is paved and any distance! But I’m looking at a GS for the other roads that aren’t paved!
...and we'll see him at Star Bucks
Great vid once again . This bike is a real monster . I would like to ask you something , u mentioned something about clutchless shifting , do u mean that it is semi automatic or just something like quickshifter ?
It's similar to the quick shifter but it allows you to downshift without using the clutch. It's on the 2015 S1000RR as well.
Really nice video, i watched it through out, I like that you stick to the main points and just get on with it. I'm getting the Alpine White on 17th October (fingers crossed) FULL OPTION. I thought the shift assist was only available on the 2015?
Great video, I realny enjoy you channel! DId you manage to compare the new Multistrada MY2015 to this GS Adventure? I am curious coz this two bikes are my top in the class of adventure and I am willing to buy one...Thanks
Hey! I haven't tested the Multistrada yet. I should have access to one in a few weeks. I like the keyless start feature on the Multistrada.
650ib my 2015 GSAdventure has keyless start too :)
thats a world exploring bike! would love to take that thing on a couple of thousands miles haha
I'd love to ride the GS across the U.S.!
This is a good vid and i noticed that you don't have those side panniers but from your experience, how much weight is it recommended for side panniers?
Hello there. The cases don't weigh much at all. When they're attached, you hardly notice them. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
Great video. Funny comments. Where was this shot?
Thank you! This was filmed in Cleveland, OH. Some of the footage was shot in Brandywine Reservation in the Metro Parks.
You are a great narrator. Loved the comments and the laughter when the sport bike took off. Great stuff.
well I liked the review....ty from across the pond
Thanks for viewing and commenting Mark!
Can you get that cruise control fitted to the HP4? I noticed that the 1000r has cruise control as an option also
Yes and the 2015 S1000RR has cruise control as an option.
Nicely done vid. What you have to remember is that as soon as the front tire leaves the pavement, your butt should leave the seat. Stand up on it and you could have ridden that mud through. An experienced Harley rider would have embarrassed you there! LOL
LOL! I'll keep that in mind and thanks for the suggestion! It was a pain in the arse cleaning that bike afterwards :-(
I asked my bmw dealership and their mechanic and told me that the cruise control that is fitted to the 2015 1000rr could not be retro fitted to the 2014 HP4:-/

What!? is the bike loaded? :D
But can you fit the cruise control feature on 2015 model to the hp4?
Yes.
Does he realize that he is riding the GS Adventure? He keeps saying the GS and there is a big difference. The GSA is an amazing bike. I love mine.
It was awesome!!!
It is a motorcycle not a boat.
Why didn't you shift it into 6th gear?
I rarely use 6th gear. Lol
why does your headlight and taillight flicker or blink?
+Patryk Krzyzak The headlights and taillight are LED and they appear to blink on video but don't in person.
Ok, thank you
+650ib just look at around 5:40 the headlight control blinks for a fair amount of time and when your riding in the day it doesn't .
Gotta have 3 bikes in your garage a 4line bmw sportbike a vtwin ducati and a bmw Adventure
I'd love to own a GS but I think the H2 is calling my name :-)
thanks man!
I'm from Brazil
you help me understand more english.
I will subscribe.
Well that is a big monster
Indeed it is but it rides like a newborn kitten :-)
ibsabur hehe. When are you making a new video and the H2R is Here!!
Only 126 mph? They top out at 147 :)
It's all dynamic
haha...anger management! I think he just did not want to be insulted.
You are toying with 200 horse power and over 150nm of torque!
Great review. I think you came out of the closet if you weren't already. You obviously have no clue if you think a sport bike is more comfortable on a long trip than a Harley touring bike. Should give the Ducati Multistrada ago
Yup, I'm trying to arrange that for this weekend. I love the way it looks and the keyless start :-)
Had one but couldn't get to grip withe twin, prefer a smooth inline 4...although i do look the like of the new monster 1200s
sounds like a ducati at idle
I like that!
there is six speed you know.....

If you want to see what a 2013 1200GS can do on the twisties, check out my video. I'm riding a 2014 S1000RR
th-cam.com/video/wsucx3gDF78/w-d-xo.html
That bike will ride on water/river.
It is funny how adventure bike people think their bike can do everything.

satan has one lol
I don't think that off road is it's nattural habitat lol, more like of image thing.
The GS does well off road with proper off road tires fitted.
650ib GSAdventure does very well off-road with proper off-road rider :)
Great quality video I m like you I don't like harleys they are overrated and they sound like shit i can see my self in few year's buying a bmw Gtl1600 xclusive
The GTL1600 EX is VERY, VERY nice! I saw one at the dealership and drooled all over it.
my ybr125 has done harder off roading than this guy did hahahaha
I want one of these bikes so bad. the best all round bike there is imo
Dude! get a cross bike course first!
Sooo amateur! why dont you cross the sea with your road tires!?!?! :D
