There’s no point in firing the pit crew with 5 races left in the season. Wait and see how much they improve. If you fire them now you could be looking at hiring 2 completely new sets of pit crew members next episode and at the end of the season. But if you wait until the end of the season you might only need to fire/hire a couple of the positions. Plus this race wasn’t really their fault. You didn’t take your best car and you went to lit at the worst possible time. Pit crew stays
Also I probably doesn't matter because I think pit crews make more mistakes on legend difficulty
Dont fire them. They will level up at the end of the season and be good.
You picked this crew at the start of their term because they had great potential. Throwing them now before you can see how much better they can be later is a BAD IDEA. You didn’t run your best chassis here, and you’re wanting to make a decision when triggered. That’s not gonna set you up very well when the next season starts. If the crew is still crap at the start of the new season, then dump them, but you could have a pretty potent crew here if they improve nicely AND your car has longer-lasting tires!

It wasn't the pit crew, it was the multiple cars holding you up on the way to the pit.

Yeah, that wasn't the pit crews fault either, he got held up multiple times on his way to the box and that's what hurt him.

I think his problem is the crew chief anyway. "Skill" determines the rate each crew member flubs up. The crew chiefs "pitting" stat has more to do with whether or not they hit their target time I think
@@limprooster3253 I have no clue how the stats work honestly I just like this series alot. Earlier this season I believe he had a worse pitcrew but had alot of good pitstops. Now it's back to back terrible pitstops. Being the crew chief could make sense. I just remember at the end of last season he had a couple pitcrew guys' stats jump up like crazy. Was thinking it'd be the same this go around
@@jacobnorton2576 They will but there is also a really good chance the free agent pit guys are better than what he has. Itll come out in the wash. But as an experiment I want him to fire the crew chief only
My opinion of the pitcrew thing is you are close to the end of the season so I would personally wait until the end of the season and see if they improve. However if you want to can them I cant fault you they are letting you down

The 17 second stop would not have hurt you if you did not run into 5 different cars on pit row. Right now you should be aiming for next season championship so hopefully they develop over the next few weeks.

@RealRadman Here's the backstory I'm giving you for the 99 Aaron's car in my watchthrough: Ganassi wanted to run the 42 car for you but had to let you go when Sterling Marlin came back, but Aaron's wanted to start a Cup team with Michael Waltrip and DEI, so you took your 83 stuff out of mothballs and provided the parts and people, while Waltrip and DEI provided the technical support.
This would make the 15 car your teammate in this video.

Guys like Portilla are the guys you need to part ways with, his happiness is low. Get rid of the ones that have a low happiness rating, the other ones you can hold onto as long as they have a happiness rating of 80 or higher. You may not like this, but try to go after some speed over skill because skill is a attribute that can be developed over time if you keep some of your guys around, you can't teach speed.
Just wait till the end of season to see how much overall goes up and fire the weakest link or one not happy

You have to remember, in 2002 a 16 second stop wasn’t awful. Also, if these guys are rated in the 70’s you have to expect them to screw up every 4th race.

I’ve been watching these videos since the beginning and I just wonder if he’s ever passed a car on track without having to hit them. Like, it’s a pole and hold on or complete meltdown when a couple of cars get by him.

The problem with this game is your car automatically checks up for every Ai car whether they're coming in or leaving the pit box it's really annoying
Being he was running good I would've stayed out the extra lap I think he did that at the world 600 and that's why he did so well

I wouldn't fire the pit crew. The way it looking now in the career, the requirements for Aaron's is gonna bite back. You have to look how the final 5 races are going to play out. The pit crew could do better, but when it comes to the sponsorship requirements, it's the best you got.
And you got held up in pit road. Not much you can do about it.
But regardless, I love this series.
I never realized how unrealistic the lighting was at Charlotte till this race😂..The sun is in the NORTH at this track😂...the sun would NEVER be off turn 3...it would only ever be behind the front stretch stands and off 4..
Your crew chief has a skill level for pitting. Is there a chance that the one last season had a much higher skill level? Maybe he is why they are messing up so often.

If someone must be sacrificed, make it the unhappy guy, not the whole crew. They didnt slow you down the most, the other cars did. Might need to adjust your pit strategy around when most of the cars are on pit road. Less cars = less chance of slow down.

Just wait on firing the pit crew. Getting caught up coming down pit road is what put you back in 15th. Yes the pit stop wasn’t great but on that alone you would probably still been around the top 5-maybe 7th at worst

I wouldn't fire your crew before the end of the season. Wait to see how much they improved and compare it to the new crew at the start of the season if you really wanted to fire them. Higher the crew's potential rating, the more they'll improve at the end of the season. I do think you signing the Aarons sponsor was a bit more than you can chew. You pretty much have to win every race just to beat Aaron's goal of beating Jarrett. I would've signed every sponsor but the primary that you can meet and build up those sponsors and after this year is over, check to see if there's any primary sponsor objective you can meet every race. The better your equipment is, the more expensive it is going to cost you to make. I've signed every sponsor but he primary. One objective that I have to meet is getting pole and that pays 1.10m per race. My other goal that I have to meet which is my associate sponsor and I have to rank 1st in earnings and that pays 848k. The rest of the sponsors obviously you don't have to worry about so I make 2.25m per race. I don't have to worry about finishing ahead of X and I can just have a stress free race. I think at this point in the career, it's tough to raise your crew's happiness.
I have 14 wins in the year and I have some pretty important crew members that are so close to 70, with multiple back to back wins throughout the year and I can't seem to raise their happiness rating. You probably know this already, but if one of your builders have a 90 rating in X and your R&D isn't high enough to achieve the 90 rating in X, It'll just stay at whatever that specific R&D rating you have currently. What I would do, is focus on the R&D first before you go searching for better crew members. You're going to be paying better crew members more and you're not going to get the full potential that they'll bring far as builders go. I think right now you're just going to have to tough it out and R&D like crazy. R&D is the foundation to everything in the career mode.
With you signing with Aarons, you put yourself in a hole and you are behind.

definitely don't fire the pit crew, you lost time because of how the AI drove your car, not because of the pit crew's performance. Also, the pit crew is basically just some numbers, it's not like firing them will fix the problem - you'll just end up with a different set of guys with similar ratings giving you the same mistakes. Wait until Daytona, see what you've got then, don't sacrifice long term performance for short term anger

The main reason you have trouble on the flat tracks and at the end of the tire run is because you don’t have fine throttle control. You are either at 0% throttle or 100% throttle. Because you only have those 2 options, it causes the back tires to over rotate coming out of corners causing you to spin the tires. I’m not saying you have no skill, you are being handy-capped by the fact you are using an emulator and only have stop and go.
Wait until the offseason and save your money to hire the best crew
I say evaluate your options and then go from there.

i have been saying for a while to fire them you need a new crew chief and pit crew potential in this game means nothing since they only improve once per year. holding on to them for an entire season makes no sense

Keep the crew. Even a great pitstop wouldnt of made a difference. You lost most of your time coming down pitroad. You should stay out longer so you have clean shot into your stall.

You're 9th in points so no championship hopes. That poor finish at Lowes was more Scott Wimmer's fault than the pit crew. I'd dump Portillo but keep the rest. He's a morale killer, a rotten egg, and it'll set an example for everyone else. They may be in the mid 70s now but their stats are going to go to the moon for the Daytona 500 next year.
IF you lose the Daytona 500 because of them, then they're outta here. But for now keep them.
