This is a perfect video, all very well articulated. Everything you said is common sense. Why can this never happened the way you explained? Fishermen do exactly what you explained smoothly but after 12 noon the launch turns into a giant cluster F. It would be funny if it weren't so maddening. Everything you just explained just goes out the window after 12 noon. In NY we have to take a course and get certified to drive a boat but most of the issue is at the ramp. Sucks

"Trailer always has priority" "Get out of the way" Prep and pack up in the parking lot, not on the ramp. If you have crew, at least one should know how to back the trailer or pilot the boat. Almost every single person in the Miami, Deland, and Lake Wylie videos does it completely wrong. Almost everyone in my area does your "scenario 2". If anyone dared to block the dock or ramp around here, they'd get ripped a new one, at the very least.
Your presentation was perfect; vehicles with trailers have priority and not boats on the water. I would have added: if you are boating solo and there is not additional docks besides the one's going down the ramp, then it is that person's responsibility to find a ramp that does have additional dockage. Now the problem arises that most people are inconsiderate and only care about themselves and they're going to block that dock and either Park their vehicle or retrieve their vehicle and make other people wait.
Being this year will be my first year of trailering a boat (used to always have a larger boats in the past where a Marina would come by and put my boat in at the beginning of the season and remove at the end of the season). I've got to admit, I never thought of the loading procedure and how to determine when to bring your boat in from the water. At the 7:30 mark proved my thoughts were incorrect. It makes sense, park off to the side retrieve your trailer then back it into the opened ramp. Instead of tying the boat at the launch then retrieving the trailer. Now only problem is finding a launch with spare dock off to the side.🤔
most ramps around here have a staging dock. if it is full just be patient and take the spot as soon as it opens. thanks for the comment and share this with all of your people. spring boating season is heating up and it is time for crazy town at the ramp.
