Y’all disrespecting Tyus. He lead the league in assist/turnover ratio for years. Why wouldn’t Book and KD want the ball in his hands? They know he’s gonna get them the ball. There will be spots in the game when Book and KD want to bring it up, but they don’t want to do that for the entire game.
He’s a career backup that’s why he’s able to have a high assist/turnover ratio. He gets no tick

He’s a career backup because he’s limited offensively and he’s not great on defense. But I trust him with the ball in his hands to make decisions and to catch and shoot. That’s all Phoenix needs in a PG.

Meh disagree. He had his second best scoring season last year, AND his highest assists/game in his career. If basketball was still played the “traditional” way then you’d be right…but Booker plays with the ball in his hands. Majority of his points come off the dribble; he just doesn’t dribble the air out of it like Luka. They really didn’t need a PG, but rather a bench and some more size.
The problem is Beal. He’s basically Booker but not as good/efficient (not anymore at least). And they gave up all of their size and depth for him, which is what killed them because he ended up not even playing a bulk of the season. So you got no ROI on him. He needs to go to the bench, rather Tyus plays or not

I disagree with Kenyon...Jones will tremendously help the Suns. The offense will be more efficient because that's what he does best. He's a true point guard. Book and KD can worry more about scoring and other aspects of the game. The Suns allow won 50 games without the trio playing majority of the games together without a true pg and a weak system.

Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are Elite off ball scores Devin Booker's best years have been when he was paired along Chris Paul a traditional point guard Kevin Durant's best years have been him playing alongside Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving . Tyrus Jones is a very good facilitator some even say the offense ran better when he was with Grizzlies when he was in the game opposed to when ja morant was in the game. It's amazing to me how little NBA vets understand the game they played their entire career. The Suns achilles heal last year was turnovers so they bring in a true PG with the lowest a/t ratio ever to handle and distribute the ball. They even doubled down on this no-turnovers concept by getting another low turnover point guard for the bench in Morris. This is about reducing turnovers and creating offense for the offensive players; why these guys can't understand that simple concept is truly amazing to me.

KD and Book both are great off ball and will thrive with a real PG. the issue is people still treating Beal like a star player. He isn’t good and is the odd man out role wise. He’s not a great catch and shoot or off ball guy and needs the rock, but he sucks as a playmaker and can’t run point at all. He also is terrible on D, he has to be 6th man for them to be at their best.

His point is trash. Suns need someone who can set the big three up and run plays. KD even publicly said he was uncomfortable with the offense last year. Book can play point guard but he’s much better as a primary scorer. Tyus Jones will be playing the Chris Paul role that got them to the finals in 2021
if the suns would run some golden state type offense with all the off ball screens and an actual distributor, this team would actually be tough to guard

You can tell Kenyon didn’t watch a second of phoenix last year. They were an all time bad offensive team in the clutch and 4th quarters. Straight up awful, and they couldn’t run offense. They needed someone to handle and make plays who doesn’t use a ton of possessions because of their high usage stars. Also book and KD are great off ball players who coach Bud will actually use creatively to score, not just hand them the ball to iso.
This was by far the dumbest take Kenyon ever had on this show. Plus anyone who can’t understand how Tyus massively helps the suns with their flaws is telling on themselves really really hard about their basic understanding of ball.
Now there’s no guarantee they actually win anything because injuries probably destroy them and they still have no frontcourt, but no one who watched the suns poop their pants on offense in 4th quarters all last year thinks this move is meaningless.
This illustrates how some guys just hear or look at a lineup assume it will work.
Meanwhile K-mart thought about the effectiveness. In the 4th quarter Jones would be useless

The Suns need another big man how can rebound, Nurkic gets 11 per game and 2nd most is KD with 6.6. They need a 4 who can start and rebound so KD can get back on 3. And someone who gives them assists, Booker leads with 6.9, 2nd are Beal and KD with 5 both. Let's see if Jones works out, but they need another man under the rim next to Nurkic.

I'm surprised to hear a couple of NBA guys not see that PHX needed a PG last season. KD Book and Beal are not LeBron, so Kenyons having a traditional PG with LeBron comparison is poor.
