Your comments on Vicious are so spot on and hilarious. Vengeful definitely dives deeper into Eli's backstory, but I didn't think it was as good as Vicious.

Im so glad you enjoyed Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries. It’s one of my favorite books of the year so far. One thing I don’t think you touched on is that she is HEAVILY autistic coded. That’s why she’s so detached and clinical and can’t figure out why the villagers didn’t like her and the Fairfolk are her special interest. But I also ate the book up. It definitely speaks to your inner pretentious selfishness.

I love how she describes the storylines of books. She will take the back of a book that I feel is equivalent to watching paint dry, and make it seem like the most magical and beautiful story to ever exist
NEW LEXI VID!!! my day just got exponentially better. The fries poem was fire??? Glad you liked vicious, I read it in my schools book club this year and thourougly enjoyed it. Viktor and Eli are literally that one meme of "are they lovers? worse." and I am LIVING for it (suffering but living.)
"Fractured fairy tale/fantasy buddy cop story" is the best description for Emily Wilde I've heard to date. Sums up everything I loved most about it tbh. I've got the audiobook of the second book queued up for a road trip I'm taking next week! 🤙
Yeah I have had similar issues with VE Schwab books, but Vicious & Vengeful just... did it for me. She's apparently started working on Victorious (the final book) and I can't wait.
Started working on the third book… recently? I always heard that she was going to write Victorious but then decided to merge the ideas with Vengeful and leave it as a duology
yeah lol I have the full Shades of Magic series and I struggle through the book because of the characters but I just can't DNF it. I think Vicious has the advantage of being sharper/fast-paced because of the premise and the conflict being relatively small in scale. Genuinely feels like you're reading a comic/watching a show sometimes
I'm so glad you liked Emily Wilde! I'm currently on my first reread and somehow love it even more the second time. Also, Wendell is VERY Howl coded and we love that for him!
Juniper and thorn has been unmatched for me for the level of escapism that book gave me. I will be looking for that level of falling head first into a book for the rest of my life now

Your themed reading vlogs are my favorite! I’m so excited for this one. Sorry you’re dealing with some health problems. I hope it gets better for you. 💚.
I’m so glad you compared Emily Wilde to the Cruel Prince because that is exactly the comparison I made when recommending it to people. Hi! I saw on one of your instagram stories that you were suspecting POTS as the cause of your symptoms. I have ME/CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) and a lot of the symptoms are similar to POTS. The symptoms can include: extreme exhaustion after physical or mental exercise, problems with memory/thinking skills, dizziness, excessive sleepiness, muscle or joint pain, headaches or sore throat, tender lymph nodes, accelerated heart rate, sensitivity to sound/smells/food/medicine and more. If you’re experiencing some of those symptoms I highly recommend bringing it up to your doctor!! I hope you get some answers soon so you can take the next steps in learning how to best take care of yourself. The process of getting a diagnosis is so hard and discouraging, especially as a woman since our pain is often not taken seriously or believed. I believe you and it’s not all in your head. Wishing you the best of luck and remember to put yourself first!!
I’m so sorry you’ve been dealing with all of the health issues! I hope you are able to get answers soon & you’ve been able to take time for self-care. I know how incredibly stressful and draining anything health related can be. Sending prayers & healing vibes🤍
