    Oh my god, this is amazing. I always used to do it with Nitro Pro, export table to excel and import it in altium, but this looks a lot better
    Tip from me: In order to get every pin on grid, select them all and do ctrl+shift+d. This will snap everything to the current grid. It works in the PCB and schematic as well.

    Great Video !
    Thanks a lot .. also there is an option to align all the pins to the grid with just click
    as i remember > Edit > align > align to grid

    Been using Altium for years and while I use the symbol wizard all the time I never knew you could just copy and paste the pin names from the datasheet. Very cool. Thanks Robert!

    Perfect timing. Thanks.
    Was not aware of the Alt function in a PDF.

      Alt-left mouse button drag is a standard Windows combination for rectangular window select. It is supported not only in Adobe Acrobat but in other applications like Microsoft Word, Notepad++, Visual Studio and great many others

    I always move the Power pin and clock in a group together so it is easy to wire and do not forget, also all input pin that is not used in the schematic setting to high or low so electric noise do not interfere with the chip or oscillate. Texas instrument has made a great video about the last topic "Engineer It - How to terminate an unused op amp" apply to all analog IC :)

    You can also use CTRL+SHIFT+V to past more than one column, it recognizes CSV, TSV etc, copying data from excell also supported. Input/output/passive also can be inserted but need to be written exactly same as in altium so I usually use Excell to prepare data.

    You can also use Edit > Align > Align to Grid in the Schlib editor. I've been doing variations of this PDF Import method for about 20 years. Back in the Protel days we'd use an ASCII schematic symbol template in a text editor and just increment the pin positions in something like Excel. One of the OpenBSD kernel coders (Jason Wright) wrote a simple C program that automates it.
    Here's the template - the line to duplicate is
    Pin 0 0 4 0 1 1 10 0 0 2 0 'pinname' '1' :
    Protel for Windows - Schematic Library Editor Ascii File Version 1.2 - 2.0

    Although personally I usually ask companies for their Schematic Library file (they always have either Altium or OrCAD, etc) if I couldn't find them online. Once at hand, the import is rather easy...

    Hi Robert Feranec
    This is very useful to same time,
    i m stuck in one command so just i explain you, i have rout one net with 0.5mm track the net name is 5V after routing i have thinking to increase width of this trace because its power track so i place polygon on same track and i also assign the net name of 5V after that its getting isolate but i assign same net i also tick on copper pour on same net if possible please make short video for that issue
    Thanks you

    • @RobertFeranec
      @RobertFeranec  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check the polygon properties, look for "Pour over same net objects"

    Thank you again for a fine video. But I find it hard to believe why Altium are not able to hit the grid correct. This must be a bug.
    I would like to see a video from you using the cloud 365 as component library. Keep up the good work.

    • @RobertFeranec
      @RobertFeranec  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am testing 365, if it is interesting I will make a video about it. PS: See Mohamed Hesham's comment about aligning the pins. Erik, thanks for watching and commenting.

    Thank you, in altium 17 , I go to supplier search and import parameters in to the new part, but now I don’t see the function, how can I do it in altium 19?

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is not available in Altium 17. I also have version 17 and unfortunately I miss this opportunity.
