I came here after doing a search on TH-cam for how to install a felt roof as I'm doing a home DIY project to replace the one on an old garage at the back of my mum's garden. As I was watching the video I thought the guy narrating the video sounded familiar till towards the end I went to sub and was already subbed?? Turns out it's Joe and I've been watching his economics videos for ages already! A man of many talents indeed! XD
Sorry but that is completely wrong, why not just rip up and re-lay new felt on the boards, the drips are wrong aswell, can’t stick over the existing drips
I’m just trying to be helpful but didn’t you know that you run your felt perpendicular to the gutter not parallel with it? This is so that you don’t get ponding on the laps like what we see in the video. What is your preferred make of torch on felts? Do you like the IKA gear. That’s the stuff made by SIG. It’s pricey but good gear. It maintains some rigidity when hot. I like that you put that GRP above the lead. Parapets are a nightmare. Always a source of problems, sucking up water etc. keep up the good work guys

The drip edge is wrong and looks awful. The lad that is using the torch have got no gloves on, Is the bitumen actually heated up enough? most prob not.
Must be a very expensive job - one guy is doing a job without any gloves, so he's taking longer to seal the edges, and 2nd guy is just for torch holding but he could go around the edges after the 1st guy, 3rd one seems to love camera more than his job. LOL

Lead seal , underay and cap laid wrong way round , drip edges wrong ( also drip higher when you do this so water doesn’t fall off edge as before)
Surely u know not to point and new lead raggle with cement mortar. That'll have cracked out within the 1st year. Always use lead mastic.

No hardboard drip and did you notice they torched onto the mineral at the edge😂😂😂 Why have guttering if the water is going to pour off behind it 😂😂😂.
