    People with wealth should not be allowed in government because they don't live in the real world. All MP's should be from a working class background

    If veterans are well looked after by the same government they served, I agree with his statement. However, this isn’t the case. These people are being ignored after their return home sick and left abandoned to their own devices. So, yes, they should be able to go to a food bank. Limited mental health is provided to them, so they end up in the streets with no housing assistance. Get a grip and at least try to understand their circumstances.

    Is there a pattern of reasons why veteran's end up on the streets? For example, do they come out of the army with no fixed address? If so, How/why is this happening? OR do they go home and cant cope, have untreated ptsd, turn to drugs/drink and end up being kicked out of their home due to that? Im trying to understand why there are so many homeless Vets out there.

    • @stevenhoward3358
      @stevenhoward3358 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      when you leave the forces you apply to the council where you want to live for accommodation and you go on a list, you may be given a push up that list depending on time served, but if you have no kids you're not a priority and will never get high enough up the list to actually be housed. So you have to go private renting.

    • @stevenhoward3358
      @stevenhoward3358 ปีที่แล้ว

      you have to serve 22 years non-commissioned to get an immediate pension. Many don't serve that long. For those that do, that pension is taken into account to ensure don't receive a penny in any other benefits

    It's something that conservatives would never countenance doing.
    By psilocin-aided rehab centres (the chemical in magic mushrooms), has an unbelievably high success rate with people suffering from PTSD & addictions.
    They should offer such licenced therapy sessions to all veterans, in my opinion.

      You think he's a reasonable person? His behaviour on Question Time was appalling. When you say something that is misconstrued (that's questionable) then the best course of action is to gracefully and humbly explain the misunderstanding, apologise for the offence caused and move on. Didn't see any of that.
