We want you all to Roll Out with us this week as we film Planet Roller Skate's theme song music video! We hope you enjoy the conclusion of the Street Roller Skating Tutorial Shorts. In this final episode we take our friend Tierney out on her first ever street skate. She did a great job and we thank her so much for her exuberant willingness to be filmed while learning. Pigeon, Liv, and Indy have had a ton of practice, so we think it's important to show a new skater for comparison. We started here too, taking our time and building our confidence, long before we were zooming around carefree. But with just a bit of practice and preparation the city is no biggie and with roller skates the exploration becomes endless!

I've been skating for a week now and to comfort myself I'm repeating in my mind "Everyone has started somewhere, don't rush it" :D And yesterday I managed to make a few laps without falling! :D
I already am surprising myself! A week ago I put on my skates for the first time and was like "Yeah, I saw all the youtube videos I got this!". Then I stood up and was like "AHMWAGAD I'M GONN DIE" :D Now I feel more and more comfortable with wheels on my feet :)

I started on last Sunday when I've got my skates and I had strong suspicion that they may be possessed by demons :P Yesterday was a lot better, I've found perfect spot to practice and i was so happy just circling around without falling ^^ ps. Indy's 'drop low' saved my life more than once ^^'
Exactly, that's my nb 1 motto these days - "DROP LOW"! :D I found a perfect spot too and I'm so happy to just skate around there every day after work :) My knee pads look like I should be dead by now :)

This was basically me when I first skated outside. I practiced a lot inside and thought i could handle the rough roads in WV. The road is very "crunchy" and bumpy, I freaked out bc of it and ended up falling so many times! It was so foreign. Now I'm basically like this girl. Ive been rolling at the park more in hopes to improve balance n such on rough surfaces
I'm 100% inspired by you and the Moxi skate team, so I saved up, bought my first pair of skates, knee and wrist guards and I'm starting tomorrow!! wish me luck!

It's kinda refreshing to see someone brand new to skates!! Sadly, I live in Oklahoma and we don't have many sidewalks and things that are skateable - however my town is trying to make it "walkable" so theoretically, it'll be skateable soon!! :D

This is my favourite PRS video so far. Yesterday (after watching tons of youtube videos) I tried skates for the first time and it was a total disaster :D Torn jeans and lots of bruises... but I came home more than happy. Videos like this keep reminding me that it's just a matter of practice. PS. Your tutorials are the best. I would be definitely more bruised without them :D

it's REALLY helpful to see skaters who are newer/not super confident in the technique! seeing only folks with perfect form can be intimidating and when i'm wobbly or stiff i feel like i'm doing everything wrong. watching somebody who's still learning and seeing that person be told "yes, good!" is really encouraging!

INDY!!! These adventure skate vids are what I have been looking for all my life! I'm confident with skates in the rink but get super nervous about street skating, especially by myself. Definitely feel like I can better take on minefields and cheese graters from now on. Thank you for giving me more confidence to give this another try!

I've been attempting to skate around my neighborhood and it turns out the concrete and slopes are way worse than I thought!! Such a relief to see this video and know that I'm not alone in being wobbly at times!

Hello from Brazil!! I loved this video, all Planet Roller skates episodes and I love her Moxi Hello Kitty roller skates as well!! And Tierney is so right about being in our heads, it's all about concentrating and being able to assess the situation. I started roller skating a couple of weeks ago and I'm in love with it! The tips you give in your videos (specially the How to roller skate!) are so valuable!!! It made the first day on my roller skates much funnier and less dangerous and scaring! Unfortunately I won't be able to practice street roller skating that much because the streets and sidewalks where I live are all in very bad shape, but I'm practicing in parks and parking lots. Thanks for all the tips and how-to videos!!

Just did my first time out yesterday. The asphalt was so rough I couldn't feel my legs up to the knee from all the vibrations but I didn't fall or kill anybody so I'd say that's a success. 78a 66mm pure radar wheels for those curious, pretty much no terrain phases them. Great videos, I've been inspired to try so many new things!
Very informative vids ladies! And entertaining... sometimes it takes a couple of spills to know what works and what doesn't. Always keep one foot in front (scissor position) so when you hit a crack or a twig, you'll still have leverage on the back foot to keep from tumbling.

It is harder than it looks! We just started doing roller skating as a unit in school (for P.E.). I thought it was going to be only a little hard, but once I got on, I immediately went bonkers XD

I started skating some days ago and your videos really helped me doing my first steps because I was only used to inline skates before. By now I already feel kinda safe on them but I'd love to see a video where you explain how to skate forwards and then turn backwards without stopping..or good ways to turn without doing too big cycles (because the streets here are not that wide and I gotta watch out to not hit any cars) 😳

I started skating again last year (after nothing for 16 yrs!) at the rink in the park. This past weekend was the first time since I was little that I went out into the streets and on sidewalks! It was hella scary but I didn't die because of your tricks!
PS I live in Brooklyn NY with lots of cars and crazy cracked up sidewalks, curbs and streets!

Can you do a video on the proper wheels for indoor and outdoor skating? I recently bought some skates that are meant for indoor skating. They are more like roller derby skates with speed wheels on them. But I want to start skating outside and I don't know what kind of wheels to use.
Theresa Shores There are so many wheels to use, but some nice outdoor wheels are big and gummy (soft) to absorb a lot of the bumps and cracks. Try a 78A 62mm or 65mm wheel! Good luck :)
Theresa Shores I did the same thing with buying indoor skates but wanting to skate outside. I bought Riedell's Sonar Zen outdoor wheels from amazon which are 85A (so suuuper squishy- squishier than the moxi wheels). There's nothing that catches on them so it's a really smooth ride, but they are a little slow. I really love them for outdoor skating, especially as a beginner

It's all "cracks, bumps, and minefields" where I live, so I always look like Tierney at 1:34...and everyone who sees me opening their mouths and making dumb comments...When does outdoor skating become fun? The first time I went skating at the rink I had a blast, but outdoors is a universe apart. :( At least it's all flat here, Tierney is a beast for going downhill on a street with cars!

I just joined a roller derby league about a month ago. Unfortunately I have to drive an hour and 15 minutes to get to the practice. Its totally worth it though. Today I actually went to a near by park to skate on the side walk so I could have some fun and practice. I bought some pulse outdoor wheels and some reds bearings. The wheels and bearings seemed to do okay, but I was curious of any suggestions for good wheels and bearings. Can you recommend something?

You can use the pavement/sidewalk, it just doesn't give you the space to carve and you have to make sure you can avoid pedestrians in that narrow area. In fact, in some places it might be illegal for you to purposefully skate down the road.

I would like to know if there are any cheap outdoor gummy wheels I could buy? The mock are just too expensive and the wheels I have are hard and plaster and are all scratched up form being on side walks. I am a new skater and I would like to know what I should do about this!
I found 10€ gummy weels (82A) in a sports shop (a big franchise in france)
They say it doesn't last lon but at least i can try it :) you should find 25€ (or a bit less)wheels easily on the internet
hey i dont know if you're still looking for suggestions but i found the clouds urethane flash wheels (78A) on sale from £20 for a pack of 4 to £10 for a pack of four, haven't had time to try them yet but they're the same hardness as the moxies
