    4:10 - As someone who also owns a 2015 Macan S, I can tell you that you do NOT need to use only the FOB key or driver side latch key to open the back. All Macans have a button on the back windshield wiper arm to open up the back or the "boot." I wish people in the business reviewing cars would actually READ the instructions before criticizing a flaw that doesn't exist.

    There is a button in the back for the tailgate. The button is part of the rear windshield wiper. At least that's what I've seen before.

      threepac3 At the New York Auto Show, I - along with a couple other folks - were flummoxed as to how to open the rear hatch. A woman strolled by and tapped a flush button at the base of the read window wiper stalk! "I know because I own one," she quipped with a touch of smugness (but not too much). Anyway, to WHAT CAR, I join the voices that say, it's right there.

    I got my Macan S Diesel in February after having to wait for 6 months (live in Portugal). Word of advice for future buyers: Do never ever get it with Luxor beige interiors. I paid a lot for all leather interiors with sport seats, extremely beautiful but, the top of the dashboard is also fitted with leather beige, consequently you see it reflected on the windscreen rather than the road in front of you and I also went for the much more expensive heat and noise insulating glass option. Now I ride the car with a black cloth covering the top of the dashboard. Even non premium automakers know the top of the dashboard must be dark.
    Blink switcher conveys a sense of cheapness. My wife’s VW Golf, bought new a month later and costing one fourth of the Macan, has a much more pleasant feeling. Same can be said about the park assist.
    Apart from this it is a terrific car.

    The button for opening tailgate is just on the rear window wiper..., as a car media, it's definitely unprofessional.

    as an owner of a Macan S petrol and a previous driver of a bmw 335i I can tell you the way this car handles is nothing short of miraculous. Its beautifully built, rare and doesn't need its first service for 2 years!
    Its more like the Porsche saloon we'd all like but just a tad taller . I waited a year and it was worth it

      Chris, I also sold my BMW (550ix) for a Macan S. My only complaint is driving the Macan in gusty cross winds. I was surprised by how much it was effected. My 550i was rock solid no matter the conditions.

    It is disappointing that a video / review is done by "What Car?" with basic mistakes. Yes there is a button to open the boot at the base of the rear wiper, and yes cruise control is standard there is an option for adaptive cruise control if so desired.
    Please have someone check the basics before releasing online. It does What Car's credibility no good.
    That said, thanks for the review.

    I drove the X3, X5, Q5, QS5 and none of them comes close to the Macan. Plus Porsche is offering an excellent lease program in the states for the Macan S.

    Disappointing review, the Macan is a great car, but your critical error on the tail gate, casted a longer-shadow of doubt on your own opinion.

    As well as the tailgate button on the wiper the rear seats don't fold flat with the optional sports seats shown..they do with the standard and comfort seats however.

    to open the boot

    This thing would cost a small fortune to run over 5 years.

    • @Bemdoubleu325

      Slimecrazy234 Not quite. Your most expensive service comes at the 4 year 40k mile mark. Runs around $1400 but it is a complete tune-up on the car involving replacing the spark plugs, air filters, changing the oil, and cleaning the drain cowls. Its easily something to prepare for with the cost of ownership. Other that that the first and third service (10k and 30k mile mark) are just a simple oil and filter change, along with a full inspection that runs $279. The 20k mile service is about $600 and is an oil change as well as cleaning the drain cowls. Of course you will need tires after a while but other than that, if you are buying and able to afford a Macan, the services shouldn't be too hard to budget for. Maybe relative to a Ford or Honda, it is a bit expensive, but you are driving a Porsche after all. Plus you have your 4 year 50k mile warranty or if you can find a certified pre-owned car, which i suggest, you get an up to 10 year, 100k mile warranty.

      @@maxim4458 In the end, I ordered the new facelifted Macan S in February 2018, and finally got the car 15 months later in May 2019, so had it for 11 months now. Really pleased with it: no problems so far.

      Bought a 2015 Macan with 60,000 miles. I put on 5k more then the nav functionality has broken, other than that car drives and feels like new.

    the Tesla Model X will make this Macan look soooooo old.

    • @hyylo
      @hyylo 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      actually if you look at the running costs of the porshe and tesla the overall ownership of the tesla is cheaper. also with the tesla you get a 10 year warranty on the battery and electric motor. mercedes, bmw, porsche can not even attempt at offering a 10 year warranty because gas/oil engines require lots of expensive maintenance.

    Starting - STARTING - at $60k for a nice driving Tiguan... Eh. Porsche will sell boatloads. I know it's a fine piece of work but it's hard not to be cynical.

    • @9fiveb180
      @9fiveb180 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sean Coleman
      Haha, I bought a Macan GTS that I (jokingly) refer to as my Tiguan when I'm around friend's who drive VWs. But it's actually the Q5s underpinnings that are the only shared bits that this vehicle has with any other model. Literally everything else was developed solely by Porsche for the Macan. I've owned several Audis, and Porsches over the years, and the differences between those two "cousin" products are vast. It's not like Toyota who
      re-badged their lineup to create Lexus, or Honda did with it's U.S market-ploy brand Acura.
      Audi and Porsche were both stand-alone manufacturers that VW eventually purchased along with other successful stand-alone manufacturers like Lamborghini, Ducati, Bentley, and Bugatti. Scoda, and Seat I'm not familiar with, so they could be different.
      It's companies like Ford, and Lincoln, or Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, or Jaguar, Land Rover who perpetuate the idea that all manufacturers must conduct business in the same (less than reputable) "let's see if they'll notice these are actually the same exact cars" kind of mentality.
