Thanks for these good video's. I'm subscribed and looking into the rebuild of this nice LC. I regret not having changed the rubbers on my clutch basket after seeing how easy it looks like.
Hello thanks. Glad you like the videos. It’s not a to bad job doing the clutch basket rubbers. I have subscribed to you as I see you do a lot of Rd350lc videos. I will have another video coming up soon about the Rd350lc 😬👍
Nice clear video. The Mitaka clutch basket replacement kit is a good alternative to a warn out basket, and it's screwed on which makes life a lot easier than pressing the rivets on.
I replaced my LC clutch recently. I found it didn’t have the rubber dampers in place so fitted some on the rebuilt. Clutch dragged and couldn’t get neutral whilst running despite trying to bed it in. Had to re strip and removed the damper seals now no issues.. 🤔
Yes with the dampers in it just wouldn’t fully release. Strange but maybe because it had new clutch plates and friction plates the space was tight? Anyway someone advised taking the dampers back out and it resolved the issue. Was a bit of a pain having to restrip it down again!
@@petebennett7008 You can't be talking about the rubbers behind the clutch basket. You sure you don't mean the orings/rubber washers between clutch plates?
thank you for the reply I have another request. Where can I find the gasket which goes between the basket and gear it is connected to. Yambits told me it is not replaced with the rebuild??
Hello! Is the sequence of the clutch different from the AC RDs? Cause the Yamaha manual says to start with clutch plate - o ring - friction plate and so on..
Could you tell me where you bought the clutch rubbers and if you replaced them with the same original size or larger? I have read that they recommend putting the rubbers a little bigger than the original ones in order to completely remove the play. Better to put the rivets back or to thread and put countersunk screws / bolts? My clutch basket has a part of the red gasket that has come out, do you think it is appropriate to open it and fix it?
Great videos on this iconic bike,
Well done ❤

Hello. That’s odd. That shouldn’t make any difference.

@@petebennett7008 Something isn’t right. The rubbers shouldn’t make any difference. It must have a lot of play if it hasn’t got any rubbers in it.

Hello. I don’t think you can buy it anymore.

Hello. You can get the parts from Yambits.

Hello sorry I don’t know only worked on the LC.

Hello sorry only just seen your message. I got the clutch basket rubbers from Yambits. They only do one size. I have only ever put rivets in 👍
What size socket is needed for the big centre nut please?
Hello. I used a 29mm socket.
@@itchingtoride Thank you very much for a quick reply, it's engine out and crankshaft seal replace for me!

Hello yes you can. It’s a lot easier but costs more money 😬👍
