Folkestone was amazing. I can't believe the variety of fish so close to the shore and swimming the reefs was beautiful. Spent lots of time here. Snorkelling and eating fish cakes from the snack bar! Can't wait to go back.
Great to hear from you!!! Sadly, I won't be back to the island this year. Am in Las Terrenas, Dominican for salsa/bachata dancing. I will be posting videos soon. Hope you will subscribe...no spam, it just helps me build the channel. Happy New Year!
sorry for the late reply. See my videos about sunset crest in Holetown. Medical care and all other facitlities all within 5-10 minute walk. I've been to all the ABC islands...learned to windsurf in Bonaire. Reef snorkelling good for small fish, and if you are lucky, turtles. Take a boat tour to wrecks in deeper water for more variety. Barbados has more diversity in landscape(ie hardwood trees, beautiful gardenes, etc. and things to do.
Hi, unfortunately most of the Caribbean is expensive. I get seasick on boats so I seek out places where I can snorkel from shore. Did you see my Roatan snorkel video? It has an awesome reef right off shore, and there are budget places to stay....do your research.
@@nancyssolotripsandtips same here, snorkeling off the shore is so much easier with fewer hustles. yes I have been to Roatan fantasy island resort. great spot. i ll look for your video.
FYI us Brits pronounce Folkestone as ‘Folkston’ we don’t say ‘stone’ at the end .....I actually live 12 miles from Folkestone town on the U.K. south coast .......great video btw thank you 👏
yes, that is why I emphasized safety in the description, and that the wreck is some distance from the shore. I always wear a float tied to my waist; I can hang on to it if I get tired; and it is acts as a visible marker of where I am in the water. I also mentioned using a kayak or paddleboard to get to the wreck. Thank you for the comment!

Spent some time in Barbados as a 20 year old but still recognize and remember the beaches … snorkelling was always great! You capture it well !

Nancy what other islands do you recommend for snorkeling beaches that are in countries not as expansive as Barbados?

Wrecks make good sites but are often no close in; okay for capable swimmers
