Today in church I got the idea to learn the acoustic guitar so I got one and took it home. While in my car I browsed for beginner lessons and out of the list, I found you and Fender which I think will be the two main resources for my new hobby. In one day I have learned the anatomy of the guitar and also used a free Fender Tune to learn how to tune and fine-tune. Thanks to Marty for saying there are free apps out there to help. Thanks Marty - I was alway nervous to get playing and learning. You made it easy for me and my 10 year old to learn! We appriciate the hours you spend spreading the love of guitar.
As an "intermediate" player, I still very much enjoy learning from Marty, especially since my rediscovering the craft in my 60s a couple years ago. There are times when I think of just retiring and hanging out on a main street corner and playing & singing these 10 songs over & over-- just for the "totin' around money" -- and it truly wouldn't even feel like working. Love it! Thanks so much, Marty!

When i was begginer i found lots of your videos for begginers........Now im much better and i play much harder songs, but i will never succes without you Marty
I'm 62. I can still hit some of the high notes, but something every musician should understand is that for the basic 1/4/5 patterns you are describing, once you learn barre chords, the world is your oyster in terms of simply transposing the key to where it's comfortable to sing. I am not criticizing your basic video instruction here, I know you get it, and I'm sure you teach this in your classes. The "high notes" comment came from "Have you Ever Seen the Rain" at the end. I move it to A. I can technically still hit the notes in C, but it is far more comfortable down a step and a half. And indeed, I learned most of these songs MANY years ago, but for beginners, this is a very good lesson. Thumbs up.
My students just bought me an acoustic guitar to make sure I follow through with my goal to play the guitar. These videos are amazing. Thank you so much.

When I started playing guitar I wanted to shred. As I went along I learned it was fun to play lead lines but more fun to play songs with little embellishments and also some lead stuff (Think: Sweet Child O’ Mine). I never wanted to be in a band. I started late in my 30’s. Now, in my 50’s I just wanna enjoy what I’ve learned and have fun w it. Marty makes it fun.
Now plz do one similar list of songs for us intermediate guitarists 🙏. there are tons of vids for beginners on yt, so i feel like intermediate guitarists are often left out

Fun fact! Let it B starts with a C :) I Like what you're doing. After almost 30 years of playing electrical guitar I'll tackle the challenge to learn some acoustic songs for all the campfires of this world where shredding fails to impress ;) It is funny to see what's actually hard to play for me but considered being easy and vice versa.
Whenever I want to learn a new song and your video pops up I can learn it so much easier than with other guitar TH-camrs on here you have a way of making it so much easier thank you so much for doing this

Another great lesson Marty! Would love to see you break down a couple of these with focus on strumming dynamics. So key to getting the right sound. 🙏
I second this - very true!
Marty you have and still are one of the biggest helps in my self learning experience
When marty starts shredding on the easy tutorials i know ill never get there but ill continue to enjoy watching and learning !
As much as I would love a part 2....I think I really NEED to see a part deux!
Great work Marty been watching you for a few years now man. Literally, no corny bs, you've taught me 90% of what I know on the guitar...Thanks man!
You know what, people?! We are so lucky to learn from this man.
Marty is the Buddha of guitar playing.❤
When I started playing guitar I wanted to shred. As I went along I learned it was fun to play lead lines but more fun to play songs with little embellishments and also some lead stuff (Think: Sweet Child O’ Mine). I never wanted to be in a band. I started late in my 30’s. Now, in my 50’s I just wanna enjoy what I’ve learned and have fun w it. Marty makes it fun.
Now plz do one similar list of songs for us intermediate guitarists 🙏. there are tons of vids for beginners on yt, so i feel like intermediate guitarists are often left out
Hi Marty, I've watched you for a number of years now and I've learned so much. Cheers for helping me out, you're always the guy I refer to when someone wants to learn guitar. 😊
Whenever I want to learn a new song and your video pops up I can learn it so much easier than with other guitar TH-camrs on here you have a way of making it so much easier thank you so much for doing this
Please do more songs ! Enjoy learning this way!
marty I LOVE THE VIDEOS. BUT. I have finally hit that point in the young swing, I CANT DO IT! I must play my own songs I literally can't listen to the instructions anymore and I couldn't be happier. Thank you from the WHOLENESS of my soul brother
I really appreciate this list!
Greetings from Germany, I think the guy is absolutely great. Always nice to see and learn from, keep it up 😊
bad habit of just free flowing jazz and blues without any recognizable songs for anyone listening While this is fun and I'm good at it----- my new goal is to learn songs people know, all the way through. This is perfect- Thanks!
Just took up playing acoustic and I'm really enjoying your videos
Love it! part 2 please!!!
Marty , you are amazing brother ! The time and dedication you take and put into rhese videos all to help us (especially begginers) ubderstand
Truly amazing , cant thank yoy enough!
I need to grab my guitar and restart my learning journey. Thanks a lot for this vid. It is also a good help to push us to start or restart the guitar.Merci Marty.
Sweet home Alabama was the first song I learned other than smoke on the water on the big e string alone. Just exactly how you showed it.
Marty's awesome. I have learned so much from his videos. thanks Marty!
jesus marty where was this video 3 years ago when i needed this luckily your other videos helped me get better
Awesome Marty! I have been learning parts of what you just ran through masterfully and you put it all full circle for me... Every time i thought i was figuring it out and getting a good grasp... WAIT! There's more!!!
Hey, thanks for this. This is perfect beginner stuff (that I still need) and you teach it with such a warm, natural style. The playing has a great feel too; this is a 10 across the board.
Marty, just in case no one has told you yet today. . .
YOU ROCK!
I gotta admit, I lol'd at the slide you did at the end of The Joker... love it
Thanks brotherman, whenever I'm stuck I don't hurt my brain, I just check if you have covered the song and so far I always find everything here. Amazing 💯👍👍👍👍🙏
Excellent...haven't picked up a guitar in 20 years and thinking about get back into it. This will be a great way to get reacquainted with my guitar!
What up Marty! Picked up my guitar again after two years, happy to see your content again!
