Michael was the keyboardist and producer on "Arthur's Theme" one of my FAVORITE Jeff Porcaro drumming tunes and he played piano on the legendary "Aja" with drumming legend Steve Gadd. So glad to know that he's a Christian.
Annie the poet is about Annie Herring from "Second Chapter of Acts" fame. She helped many come to Christ Jesus! She's "Found" the power and Saving Grace of Christ. Michael is and has been a miracle man of whole heart without FEAR! He's singing of finding the love and forgiveness by Grace Through Faith" in Jesus! So fantastic!! So powerful and beyond!! I love him so yet I've never had the privilege of meeting this HERO of the TRUTH!
May have been mentioned but his album “Adam Again” had this song on it…wondering if it’s the same album renamed? Either way it’s just such an absolutely AMAZING album. Maybe his greatest pop/rock one (they’re ALL great.) What a genius musician. Everything he touches = gold!!
@Barry Hetherington Thank you very much for your reply. Living on the other side of the pond I knew who played bass on „Do they know it’s Christmas time“ (Duran Duran’s John Taylor) but I didn’t know who played bass on „We are the world“. Ahh, and a certain Mr.Philip Collins played drums on DTKICT… 🤓
Well my daddy had White Horse, Adam Again, a couple Barry McGuires (SEEDS and LIGHTEN UP which you played on), Dion STREETHEART, Pratt & McClain HAPPY DAYS some of the tracks from the self-titled P&M on a CD called Omartian, Pratt & McClain, Andy Kim self-titled, Yvonne Elliman YVONNE, Christopher Cross's 1st album, and a few others Mike did, as Mike O'Martian like 5th Dimension INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY and Brother Love double-sided "So I'll Stay"... No Word artists, though... --
Slight correction: Onward was the name of the release internationally. In the US, it was titled, Adam Again. BTW, the song that you played is about Annie Herring of Second Chapter of Acts, whom you've featured before.

Omartian is a piano prodigy, people forget he also helped form Rhythm Heritage who had the 70's funky hit Theme from S.W.A.T.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Michael's music. The album that "Annie the Poet" is on is a brilliant album BUT All of Michael's albums are Brilliant! It's about Annie Herring of Second Chapter of Acts fame (They are singing back up vocals on this if I'm remembering correctly. LOL. SO MUCH LOVE! He CARES for others genuinely! And it's in the music. The love of Jesus of us is in Michael's music!
Amen X10000000000
Sorry about the loss of your friend, 😞💟
The piano playing was beautiful❣️ Love all these pretty songs you’ve introduced me too. Hmm as I do with most of the songs you play, I went to try and add it to my playlist off apple. Sadly I can’t find Onward nor Annie the Poet there :(
Love his playing on Rikki and Aja.
Yes, the end of that song had a strong Elton vibe.
Michael was the keyboardist and producer on "Arthur's Theme" one of my FAVORITE Jeff Porcaro drumming tunes and he played piano on the legendary "Aja" with drumming legend Steve Gadd.
So glad to know that he's a Christian.
Rip Ramone
Tim Pierce has a great interview with Ramone. Such an amazing musician.
In the US this was called Adam Again, Onward was the australian release name of the album.
Omartians brought me here. Prolly the coolest couple I never met
Omar’s piano playing on Gary Chapman’s “Sweet Jesus” is on its own a rhapsody
Leland, I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Ramon Stagnaro. May I express my deepest sympathies and condolences. Ramon Stagnaro will be missed.
Question: Before hooking up with JT did you ever attend any of these big event's? Woodstock, Monterrey or Altamont
White Horse is one of desert island records. Its an absolutely genius album, every song is solid, top incredible musicians.
By the way: how played bass on „We are the world“? 🤔
👋🏻
Bass guitar Louis Johnson
Drums John “JR” Robinson
@Audrey Sims
🤗
@Barry Hetherington
Thank you very much for your reply.
Just watched your video. LMAO, what phony dog poop?
Rick Beato just did a wonderful interview with Michael.
There’s a wonderful Michael Omartian interview with Rick Beato on YT
Jesus is his reason, God-given talent. Love your channel❤❤
i lost more to complications of the gene therapy jabs.. it's by definition not a vax
Sorry for your loss.
Evening Leland and everybody
Evening Ann, 😊
Omartian is an unsung hero.
☝️❤️🙏
I'm not sure but I wonder if this song, "Annie the Poet", was written about Annie Herring (2nd Chapter of Acts).
Annie the Poet certainly has a lot of changes but it doesn’t detract from the sentiment. Thanks for joining the dots on MO’s illustrious career.
Could it possible be that Annie the Poet is Ann Herring ? Thanks for this, had not heard this for many years….
99% probable👍
So sorry for the loss of your friend. :(
My favorite Omartian work was for Boz Scaggs. Real music.
😎👍❤🖖
Love Brother
We got your snow in Michigan. A nice 8 inches of the white stuff.
Amazing indeed!!
I note what others say about Onward being the name for the international release of the album, but it also went under Adam Again in the UK.
The guy was and is a benchmark for me.
Omartian is a genius. BTW, Annie the Poet is about Annie Herring of the 2nd Chapter. That record was known to we believers as "Adam Again."
Slight correction: Onward was the name of the release internationally. In the US, it was titled, Adam Again. BTW, the song that you played is about Annie Herring of Second Chapter of Acts, whom you've featured before.
great playing on Boz Scaggs: Down Two then left
