@@aycee3564 Not really that bizarre considering the behavior of so many people around basic science these days. How many flat earthers are out there? How many anti vaxxers? How many don't seem to understand the difference between viruses, parasites and bacteria? How many tie themselves into pretzels to avoid listening to trained and well practiced professionals in related fields and yet accept the word of people who have no training and no practice in them? That is far more bizarre than the notice that it's a problem.
But it was mostly those who _thought_ they were scientifically literate who took the experimental jabs willingly. Science = Stupid

I agree, its frustrating that people, reporters, still do not realize the medical community was learning as they went. I was the lead in our congressional office and I can attest, the information was unknown in the beginning and our public health agencies did outstanding work, even with the obstructionalist in chief providing misinformation.

We live in Northern California in El Dorado County near Amador County: 90% Republican ...when covid hit, (we are seniors & democrats) we took Dr Faucis recommendations seriously: masks in every where we went in public, We quit going to restaurants & crowded places. We kept social distance, and washed our hands a lot!!

I support science before anything else. People don't understand how science works, because our educational systems are failing to teach how science works. Schools spend so much time and energy attempting to prepare students for these lame standardized tests that they don't have time to actually teach the things they need to know to be an active participant in a rapidly changing world.

I think the question of whether public health departments need to look at what was said, how it was said, & how prepared they were is very valid. The politics didn't help at all but most departments weren't prepared & didn't folothe science.

I agree there's a reason for vaccines, reseach the past pandemics and illness that can cause bodily harm. The Federal Government before and during the 50s compain and set up areas for children to receive vaccines, depending on the state and where you lived, the vaccines was given. I believe in Science for those that now can be explained scientifically, I believe in the expert opinion of Dr. Fauci and many other scientists for how they use and filter facts and formulating conclusions and recommendation, and for those that have yet to be explained and the mysteries that have yet to be unraveled, those I leave to God.
Everything we know now came from our own research and experience, there's no evidence it came from a god. I think I'll trust that things we find out in the future will follow the same pattern.

We should:
1) Do early vigorous contact tracing, quarantine, and isolation;
2) Adapt ventillation in public buildings to accomodate air sterilizers (far UVC or UVB with ion trapping?) and particulate filters;
3) Ability to make massive quantities of PPE on demand;
4) Continue to educate the public about the science behind learning about new (novel) pathogens and the necessity of adapting public policy as information is revealed;
5) The difference compliance vs non-compliance can make to those who could be unnecessarily exposed. 🔬

The higher mortality rates in the West, as opposed to Africa, can be attributed to the heightened stress levels imposed on their populations. It is widely known that stress weakens the immune system, essential for combating the virus. African nations, by experiencing less stress compared to the West during the Covid pandemic, were able to survive with lower impact.I find it odd that all TV stations were airing interviews exactly when the Senate was discussing his private communication regarding the origin of Covid-19.
