Binary and Gray Shaft Encoders

Gives a simple description of a 3-bit Binary shaft encoder and its drawback in determining the position of a rotating shaft. A 3-bit Binary Reflection Gray encoded disc is then introduced and shown to overcome this problem.

I'm not sure what you mean by software. I created the video using Powerpoint and the animation facility that comes with it. Glad the video helped. Let me know if there are any other topics that might benefit your students.

Smart, the gray encoder anticipates the correct changes...now thats error correction at its best...it dont avoid errors , it uses them.
