    Acetylene gas on an air drawing torch. Lots of surface area so you need to use ample heat to get in loosen the solder joints and get out without burning the metal.

    What kind of Gas are you guys using? That seems like excessive heat compared to other options.

    one of my valve's pistons are stuck in the tuba, how do I get it out?

      First things first, that means you 1. haven't been taking proper care of it, 2. the valve stem is bent, or 3. unlikely but possible, the valve block has warped, putting pressure on the piston preventing it from moving freely. I would see a professional.
