Great review. I have a 2019 Equinox 1LT and absolutely love it... Steering is on another level, insane tracking.. Watch Ben's hands when he drives in a straight line, zero movement.. I agree about the 2L Turbo, hope it makes it to the 2025.. Also, AWD is a must.
It still boggles my mind that they still didn't update the ancient engine, and somehow switching from a 6-speed auto to a CVT actually lost fuel economy this generation... 28mpg highway from 175hp? LOL! Then again with the Rogue they upgraded the engine and transmission after only 1 year production, so maybe Chevy is doing the same. *fingers crossed*
@@maxpower6572 "I’m pretty sure they will upgrade the engine in a year or two" I hope so, it would be a perfect vehicle if not for that, the power and economy of that engine are yuck
First off I'm very happy with the vehicle so far...this is the third equinox I have owned and loved them all.....I just bought a 2025 Lt with the midnight package....Looks just like the one in this video but AWD... Thinking on it now, If I had to do it again I would go with the LT with the Convenience package 2 and forget about the midnight accents and the 19 inch wheels... You get the better seats, the power lift gate, power seats along with the dual zone climate controls.....and the biggest kicker a Sunglass holder... Can't believe they all don't come with a sunglasses holder...Just can't understand why GM would go through the expense of manufacturing two types of overhead consoles...LoL....Minus the midnight addition (like $3000) and add the convenience package 2 and you should be around the same price for the AWD.....$34600.00 sticker price....I was able to get $3300.00 off on mine and there was probably still a little more wiggle room that I let go....But I got 5 free oil changes, paint less dent repair and windshield chip repair out of the deal.
Chevrolet and GM have been really designing some sweet looking vehicles lately, not as confident in their power train choices but looks wise there on point.
It os definitely worth it the value to own a equinox 2025 I liked the vehicle the looks outside and especially the inside very nice and modern looking car.
I was planning on getting the Activ trim but now ama get this midnight one but with the convenience package lol it will be $3000 less than the Active Trim. Which is good $3000 i can use on something else. I plan to pay it cash.
For that price I better go for a Mitsubishi Outlander 2024, better equipment and 2.5L engine without turbo that we already know what the turbo gives in this type of cars and and is more spacious 🚙
Our 2019 Equinox AWD 1.5 turbo w/ 6 speed trans rated @ 31 mpg hwy. Now has 51k miles, & the past 300 miles has achieved 32.6 mpg avg. How can the 2025 Equinox w/ the same engine w/ only FWD (now w/ a Constantly Variable Transaxle) now rated @ only 28 mpg hwy. Terrible. Is it worse aerodynamics? More off road like tires? Is it the CVT? Asinine. I thought EPA & CAFE strived to get better mpg, not worse,.... w/ the same damn engine.
Absolutely not. That 1.5 four banger has had so many issues, underpowered, and constantly out of breath. As with most GM turbo engines, they run ridiculously hot, not to mention the horrendous fuel economy for its class. Edit: what a joke making you get an all wheel drive model just to get a proper transmission. Most CVT’s are very cheap. Aside from the powertrain, great car for the price point as it looks good, and you get a good amount for the price compared to other manufacturers. The 2.0 four banger would be so much better.
Toyota is a good quality car though. The longevity is insane. Style wise Chevy got it but quality wise Toyota is way better, however this a really good looking car
The sound system is really good to my ears... Better then the base system in the out going model....No need for the Bose....Bass thumps enough even without a subwoofer and highs are crisp....I was kind of impressed coming from a 2022 Premier non-Bose.
That ridiculous weak 1.5 with such a big suv and if you have 5 adult forget it even the semi truck they going to pass in the highway a least you can go behind the semi at the highway
1.5..engine...............lol..lol...........lol Gm should just put away the lawnmower and get 2 stronger hamster to pull it ..oh nevermind that would have someone call PETA
Looks nice but is not a value play at all. The 2024 LT can be had for 23K, this one is selling ~29K, real world prices. This cars pricing puts it in competition with the much larger Sorento S in the real world. I wish we could have reviewers who used real pricing to compare and not fake MSRP numbers.
Totally agreed! They are losing money by not going with hybrids. Where I live, it is impossible to find and escape hybrid before it gets to the lot as they sell like hotcakes.
@@m6780 I think it is a lot of people - they use them at my work and many people complain about back and leg issues but don't realize it is from the Equinox ha-ha.
Worst fuel economy and power in class. Example '25 Equinox 1.5T w/CVT = 28mpg and 175hp/186ftlbs. '24 Rogue 1.5T w/ CVT = 37mpg and 201hp/225ftlbs. Get the Rogue, its a no brainer.
@@sneezinhatch As much as I like the Trax, I'd also say to look at the all new '25 Kicks. Its going to be equally slow to the Trax, but should again be much higher fuel economy considering its identical powertrain to the '24 Sentra which is rated 40mpg. And from the videos so far, I think it looks more premium inside and out than the Trax.

When the title said shocked everyone I was expecting chevy to finally do a compact SUV hybrid. it's still a very nice looking ride.

“The Toyota logo front and center”😂
I filmed several Toyotas before this and my brain was fried from the heat😆☠️
@@BenHardyCars and u compared it with the rav4 so that’s what I thought😂 anyways good vid!
there are FOUR lights!

I'll take this over the 2025 Terrain. More physical controls in the Equinox.
Chevrolet and GM have been really designing some sweet looking vehicles lately, not as confident in their power train choices but looks wise there on point.
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.
Just bought a 2022 ZR2! 10k miles fully loaded, Sand Dune Metallic 🎉 $58,500 out the door
Which engine you get?
What happened to the 2.0L turbo powertrain. That’s a step backwards in my opinion. It’s not all roses for the new equinox 😎
It had issues.
It os definitely worth it the value to own a equinox 2025 I liked the vehicle the looks outside and especially the inside very nice and modern looking car.
I don't know if I'll get used to gear shift on the wheel.
Get the AWD version to avoid the CVT
Ohhh that’s the way around that garbage CVT? Nice.

Chevy is wise to have the Koreans design their cars.
Really like this, looks great and seems nicer than the trax . Would have to get awd version with 8 speed.
Chevy Equinox is a insane suv love the black 360 camera love it

That Mitsubishi face though 🤮🤮🤮
Dang that looks nice
Great review Ben
Nice looking. Need 2 liter for sure. 2024 Rogue Review?
2025 Chevrolet Equinox LT FWD Midnight Edition!
CVT no way
Toyota logo, he said. Lol.
Camera rear view mirror on a $30k car?!!! That would be so handy on the Grenadier. Which is, uh, more expensive…

It is nice, but they should've offered the 8 spd AWD with the Traverse's 2.5T. Chevy just continues to skimp on power these days.
It's got a column shifter
Actually the Awd has an 8 speed AT

8 speed for the awd
