13:02 - Huberman says snus is bad but it seems he doesn't know that tobacco-free nicotine snus pouches exist, like Zyn, On!, Velo, etc. Only pure nicotine salt and filler powder, only nicotine is absorbed (buccally).
Nicotine itself is not carcnogenic. The reason tobacco is, is because of nitrosamines, which is produced by the tobacco plant. So it's obviously not found in extracts like vape juice, pouches, gum, etc. Nitrosamines are also used to preserve processed meats. Not all are 6 or 8mg, they can be as low as 1mg, 2mg, etc.

@@H00v3r Both statement apply to caffeine though 😂 Andrew is pro caffeine
but I think my original comment was wrong anyway, I meant to delete it because huberman does know they exist. His rhetoric just made it sound like he didn't.

First minute in: I love how Andrew talks about distracting from the pain. When I run (on a treadmill) I’ll put on a show or a movie and next thing I know I’ve ran 30min - 2 hours which for me is 3-6miles. That strat works wonders.

Interesting thing about Dr. Huberman mentioning that 10:30 am is when he feels best for training, a lot of Olympic athletes don’t start their heavy training til after four hours from waking up in the morning. They’ll stretch and warm up before the four hour mark but the idea is that your body and mind coming several hours of sleep need a minimum of four hours to get adapted to the awakened state in order to be as optimal as possible. Granted these are elite athletes that train all day for a living and most of us regular folk have regular work schedules , but we tried this for a week at my gym during a break and it did make a difference as far as endurance and intensity.

Everyone has a natural capacity for good character and this capacity is developed through practice, our character is the structure of habits and is produced by what we do. The contrast of a good person is to take pleasure in moral action as flourishing transpires when a person is doing what they should do and what they want to do. States of character are connected to the process of habituation.

@andrewhuberman I watch your podcasts often and admire your drive to learn and educate others. I would LOVE to see you experiment upon The Word. I'd love to hear the science behind certain areas of faith. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I belive in and adhere to the word of wisdom: not consuming alcohol, tobacco, tea (herbal Is okay), coffee, stimulants. The promises are many, one of which talks about knowledge increasing. I have seen in my life that I can be free from all forms of addiction by following these guidelines, plus other positive outcomes. I'm interested to hear how YOUR mind and body change if you QUIT caffeine, nicotine, etc- and trust in God that the blessings of abstaining outweigh the short term rewards.i know science is slow to catch up to God's laws. Interested to see the effects and you are the man who has knowledge and resources to put it to the test!!

I’m addicted to caffeine, I’ve been chewing tobacco for decades, and I can go without chewing for weeks even months at a time with no withdrawals.
    Personally, I think tobacco is a non-carcinogen .
And, as for me, nicotine is not addictive.

I think nicotine helps with RLS. I have it and back when I was smoking if I couldn't get to sleep I'd get up and light a cigarette and just take a few puffs. Then I'd brush my teeth and wash my hands and face and go back to bed and sleep lie a baby! But that was 15 years ago. Here lately I've been thinking about getting the nicotine gum.
