Karen Young - 'Allentown Jail' (1969)

'Allentown Jail' was Karen's follow up to her International hit 'Nobody's Child' in November 1969. It was a song that had been recorded by many artists including,from the 50's, Jo Stafford and Lita Roza with The Springfields and The Seekers cutting it during the 60's.
Now I've had an entirely healthy obsession with this super and totally underrated singer for 40 years now.My obsession is vindicated by this,to me,definitive version of this beautiful song.

This is a good rendition I have never heard of Karen Young .. I remember this song as a 78rpm at the house of my uncle in about 1960 by Jo Stafford

There were three singer Karen Youngs. A Canadian one who did Garden Of Urch about 1970 an American one who did pop songs in the mid 80s and this one who must be the British one.
