  • We start off this week’s episode by catching up on the various wildlife rehab animals under the care of the GSE team, including Stan, the burrowing owl, and his partner-perhaps even boyfriend? Scott and Kat share anecdotes of Lady and her cautious, yet hesitant interactions with the other sanctuary elephants, which, however, has never involved any physical contact. We delve further into Lady’s ongoing health concerns and discuss why foot-related issues used to be the primary cause of death among zoo elephants in the U.S. Despite captivity having taken a cruel toll on Lady, Kat and Scott speak in admiration of her resilience and zest for life, as she ventures into the farthest corners of the sanctuary.

Thank you so much for this great video. Lady has a lovely quality of life with you. Yes pain at times - like all animals and humans - but this is not constant. You care for her feet beautifully. Thank you Nadia, Kat and Scott 💖🐘💖🙏🙏

The wildlife you’re rehabilitating are stunning . Very well done with the rare eagle - can you tell me what type he is? Each one must be so important with so few left. And the Ant eaters are just incredible looking aren’t they?! What a great gift back to the wild in Brazil. Hats off to you all 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💚🌈 Its wonderful having videos of the elephants and the sanctuary, love the drone filming too. Huge thanks for the podcasts with videos 🙏

Isn't it a shame that the past treatment meted out to these Ellies has prevented some of them, to an extent, forming the same relationships that I have watched other elephants do, when they once again can have the company of each other. Maybe I am wrong. 😢💔🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

they are all affected by their pasts differently. while some seem to be able to heal from it, others struggle until the end. after decades of abuse and neglect, it's understandable, but still sad.
