The article is great, love this style of football talk about analytics, the personnel packages, the personnel it self, offensive vs defensive schemes, and why it is so successful and how it will eventually not be as successful or be one of the greatest offensives of all time i.e. Saints in the past 2 weeks. I knew we were elite, but I didn't know we were greatest of all time, again it is only 2 weeks, and like my boy Ben said it will continue until about week 5. That is why I been saying in the comment sections that week 5 Saints @ Chiefs will be the best game of the year. Might be a Chiefs vs Rams 2018 game, hopefully. Like the article said the way we are succeeding might not continue like the last 2 weeks but I am not sure who will really stop us especially during the regular season. The next 2 weeks, back to back we face pretty bad DL line/bad run defenses, I am not high on either defensively (Failcons>Eagles, not by much tho lol). Even on top of them Chiefs defensively have been pretty bad to, I am not sure if they are even better than the failcons which is crazy lol. again all these analytics, ranks for players, teams, coaches, even betting lines should always be take just as bit of information to draw your own conclusions, chiefs I will give them this they have faced pretty good offenses with good rosters, one has good coaching (Ravens). at the end of the day though whether we win or lose, it will give us more information, every game will, on how good we really are and what we can actually do. That just shows they didnt even do their research on him, he was one of the league leading deep passers in 2015 and 2016, then when gruden came he had no deep threat but was top 5 in deep passing again in 2020, 2021 and 2022 (even with mcdaniels). I bet we havent even seen half of the playbook yet. These coaches know we have a whole season to play and they aren't laying all their cards out right out of the gate. I'm sure there's plenty left to go to in the bag so that when defenses start to adjust to what they've seen the last few weeks on film we can hit them with something new and unexpected to keep everyone off schedule
Probably seen 3/4 of the formations but yeah, there's probably 100 plays per formation and like 5 or 6 formations. That's what makes Andy Reid's offense so dangerous. He turns one formation into hundreds of plays. It confuses defenses constantly.
Totally. The first part of the sched seems the hardest, if we can pile up the Ws now, before teams can crack it we will be more successful the rest of the way

James, ive been critical of Olave on offense but always knew the rest of the offense were not as bad as it seem last yr. the oline was questionable but thought scheme and qb play could help them out. as we saw during Drew Brees days, his oline guys were really good, at times great, but was it solely them being great players or was it decent players which benefitted from a Drew Brees helping them out? id always thought it was Drew because few of those guys would go to different teams and they wouldnt pan out to be what they were in New Orleans. fast foward to this team, the more i watch this offense under Kubiac, the more i believe our offense have the guys to be successful. IF Kubiac can take us to the superbowl, im not sure if he would leave after enjoying such success and having fun with our guys. why go to a team that need major rebuild and deal with headaches where as he can enjoy a couple more seasons sharpening his offense with the toys he has here?
We are not going to be able to keep this up year long with defenses catching up or at least learning how to challenge the scheme. I just hope we're able to do enough to make some real noise.
I think 17-0 16-1 is a realistic possibility right now other than the cheifs i don't think anyone on the schedule can beat the saints if they keep playing like they have been
All this thunder on offense has silenced what the Saints have done on defense… I imagine if you were to dissect their defensive efficiency, ie on a per drive basis, given the game situation, that this defense, still with Dennis Allen at the helm, is going to prove to be formidable in many respects… Every offensive system will stall, whether it’s because they misfire or the defense finds ways to interrupt the offensive scheme, there will always be days that any offense is held back… When that happens to New Orleans, their defense is a top tier unit that can and will be relied upon to keep the game close to provide the offense the opportunity to get back into rhythm. I’m not saying they’ll go undefeated, I’d expect to see some doubts creep in with perhaps a 2-3 game slide somewhere in the schedule, but I’d be surprised if the Saints aren’t in 15-16/17 games in the fourth quarter this season. It’s going to be fun to watch, but in the end, the question we’ll have to answer is how long we can keep this system together before coaching and player departures take their toll. For example, if Kamara stays healthy, he’ll be the hottest non-quarterback commodity this offseason…. Ouch, the franchise is going to remember missing that extension for a long time. Maybe Kamara will take a home town discount, he seems to genuinely like playing in NO, but one way or another, a healthy Kamara is gonna get paid this offseason. But anyway, I digress, this defense is absolutely no joke and catastrophe aside, the Saints are in position to be historical, that’s fun! I had the Saints +3 wins over last year… so either divisional champs or high wildcard… The offense is definitively better than anticipated, they’ll need to adjust as defenses catch up on film study, and if they can continue to keep Carr on his feet, anything less than a 2 seed would be disappointing going into the postseason.
Not saying that we will, but if the 2007 Patriots, 2011 Saints, 2009 Saints, 1999 Rams was able to sustain this level of offense why can’t 2024 Saints??? Please chime in with some reasons why the Saints cannot.
