Thanks for watching this series ! It was a lot of fun, but quite tiring. I'll make other stuff in the future, but for now, I'll rest. Meanwhile, I said in the previous video that I was searching for a rule tweak to reconcile spinning on screws with the challenge. Have I found this tweak ? Well, no. And I'll explain why: There were some really good suggestions in the comments of my last video. "Can only shake when you're not gaining height", "Can only shake if it doesn't make you move", "Shaking only to modify the level layout"... Some worse suggestions... "It doesn't count", "Just use common sense lol" But ultimately, they all have the same problem: They don't set defined limits. But why is it SO important to have defined limits ? Well, I am using TAS tools. I will use the most unthinkable strats to get past a single obstacle. I will write a bruteforcer to prove a section possible if I have to. I will exploit every mechanic and every glitch I can to complete the challenge. If the limits of the challenge aren't clear and indisputable, I can't go to that extend without facing controversy and unnecessary discussions on what is allowed and what isn't. That's not fun. I don't want to work with rules that are loosely defined, because otherwise I can't exploit the game the way I want to. Therefore, I need clear, well-defined rules, and indisputable limits. For that, the simplest form is the "button challenges". Since a TAS is just a file containing all the inputs required to replay the game, the condition of the rule can be checked just using that file ! So, does spinning a screw really counts ? Yeah. It's annoying, but it's also a source of interesting challenges. I don't want to take the easy path, hence why I'm so strict with my rules and why I've even banned the mini mushroom. In Super Mario 64's, the A Button Challenge prevents the player from pressing A, that is, jumping. But it also applies to firing a cannon. If people tried to tweak this rule so cannonshots would be allowed, it would have helped to collect many stars. But... They didn't, and instead we have one of the most impressive solution to a challenge: Mario Wings to the Sky 0xA (th-cam.com/video/YpcMlj8BwWE/w-d-xo.html) So I will leave this challenge the way it is, and maybe in the future, a new glitch will be discovered that makes this level possible ! Who knows ? In the meantime, thanks again for watching this little series. I am taking a break right now, and maybe, one day, I'll come back to this challenge :) ❤💚💛💙

This will be one of the most deserved endings to this game ever. I applaud you for making it this far (even with the illegal shaking that took place in the last level). Can’t wait to see the final showdown :) Edit: Didn’t disappoint. GG 😀
Its my personal head cannon that when the credits rolls the cast finally figured out what it means to both jump and to spin jump. That was a hard feat to do, but it was completed* Enjoy your well earned rest
I still remember the first time I saw the 1-1 thumbnail, I thought it was a joke, but luckily it wasn't, congratulations on getting through it, you did an amazing job :)
This level was SO hard for me as a kid, and used to scare me SO much. It's absolutely wild how many techs and close calls you had to make in order to complete this jumpless. Congrats man, it's been an insane journey
Even if you consider the screws in the airship to be a sticking point, I don't think anyone would consider this challenge a failure. The fact you were able to beat the game without jumping and got caught on a technicality is insanely impressive. You should be proud of what you've accomplished here. This has been one hell of a ride, thanks for sharing it with us. Well done. :)
I knew that final section would take some perfectly-timed bubble pops. So glad to see it finished! It's too bad 8-Airship absolutely requires motion controls at this point, and there's no good rule change to allow shaking in just one circumstance for a TAS script... but even with that as a minimum this was impressive! And on a technicality, not even a single jump!
What about the definition: "Any input movement which, if inputted enough times, may directly apply an upwards force to the playable character." The special keywords are "enough times" and "may". Mild issue with that rule is that it bans ground-pounds due to the extra height they can give. That height & air-stalling has been highly necessary for this challenge.
mario got the +100 assist at the end, we love to see it congratulations on getting this done with 0 jumps!! (the motion control beforehand doesn't count as a jump) and enjoy the break!! hopefully we'll be able to see world 9 _(the way to world 9 is definitely gonna be difficult/impossible, but i'm just thinking about the levels themselves)_ loved this series a lot! can't wait for what wacky mario challenges you do next!! :]
I was here since day 1...I genuinely thought this was a joke but I kept seeing more notifications and I kept watching....I am surprised you made it this far!
Fantastic series! After the break I would love to see more levels and world 9, but I’m very pleased with what you’ve already done. Also, after all that I loved seeing Mario and Luigi just jump at the end like they didn’t care.
I've been watching this since the very beginning- I was still living with my parents when the first video came out. What a journey this series has been, thank you so much for your work!
ive been loosely following this series since world 1, and i feel far more proud than i expected to see it almost fully done- the effort you've put into it is clear as day. 8-airship is a shame, but at the end of the day it's still beyond impressive to have only one impossible level. massive kudos, well deserved break :)
This deserves so much for the ending and this is where the journey comes to an end, what a great series without jumping, I still can’t believe it was possible to beat the finale level, great job, thanks for everything Mario, Luigi, Yellow Toad, and Blue Toad quest is finally over ❤️💚💛💙
Even if there were some hitches along the way that don't make it truly "ultimate", I still call this challenge a success. Congrats on beating the game without jumping!
lols for you to meme on the ending cutscene with Bowser and his falling castle, somehow it just fits Also off-topic comments, sometimes some categories of music get quite underrated, including title screen and credits music of games, credits music of movies, and exit music of stage musicals.
Dude think about this from Bowser’s perspective. He’s probably screaming, “I’ve killed you like fifteen dozen times! Why do you little freaks keep coming back!?”
And at the very end they jumped ! After finally saving the princess !! Amazing run you did there, I enjoyed every videos and I'm eager to see what you will come up with next time ! Thanks for the content, and have a good rest.
Good job. So even though it probably isn't possible to unlock any of world 9 while staying true to the challenge, it would be interesting to see you attempt world 9 ultra jumpless.
Adeal, it’s been one hell of an adventure. I’ve been watching since week 1 and loved every moment of it. NSMBW was one of my favorite childhood games, and I remember grinding dozens of hours into it. Watching the game be stripped to its very core and to its limits has been an amazing journey to see that I never imagined possible, and heck, never even thought anyone would be *stupid* enough to try. Yet, here we are, the game almost completable. It’s a shame that the airship hit right before the end and ruined the challenge, but the task you achieved is impressive enough as it is. I’ve followed your channel for years from all your SM64DS content, and heck, I always knew you were something special and loved checking in to find new videos. I can’t wait until your next adventure, take your well deserved break for now. Thanks for the content, it’s really truly been amazing to see and a phenomenal viewing pleasure.
But they jumped at 11:05! invalid! All joking aside, huge props to completing these. They must take an extreme amount of time, and they are very entertaining. I've watched all of them as they came out and enjoyed all of them. I think this definitely counts and the shaking in 8-Airship is allowed, GREAT JOB!!
I absolutely love this game, and this series was incredible. I looked forward for a new video every week. Seeing all the complex over the top ways to navigate these levels was so fun to watch. I even learned some new interesting things about this game I have played for so long. Thanks for entertaining us with this amazing TAS run.
This was incredible! You actually did it! The technicality ruining the airship is a shame, but I still feel like the challenge was a success! Thank you for the wild ride. I'm looking forward to whatever you decide to do after your well-deserved break! ❤💚💛💙
I can't even imagine the amount of accomplishment that must have been coursing through your veins as your heard peach's theme. Congrats on such a wonderful and entertaining series.
I normally never comment on yt video's, but this has been quite the journey the past few months. I played this game to death when I was a kid (almost literally. I used up 2 cd's of this game), and to see it beaten like this brings me so much joy. Thanks for all the work!
Okay so I counted all the deaths All deaths is including going back for secret exits, both plays of 1-tower, but not the deaths from 1-up grinding since there's no video proof of every death on that But here's the deaths for anyone who cares to know: Mario: 193 Luigi: 198 Yellow Toad: 182 Blue Toad: 209 Total: 782
The ending actually made me crack up audibly xD Great run!! Enjoyed every bit and can't wait to see more of your stuff in the future!! For now, enjoy your break! You earned it!!
GG Saw the 1-1 video on my reccomended about a week after it came out and have been keeping up with the new videos since then. Well deserved break and hers to finding that solution to 8-Airship!
When the first video in this series was uploaded, youtube decided to recommend me your channel. Since then I've been following this journey. As you said, all things must come to an end, but we will wait for your comeback! Thanks a lot
This has been one of the best series of all time, especially for this game, one of my favorite of all times, i honestly find it insane how this game is possible without jumping, although not without the spin jump, it was still an amazing ride, and the reason because i discovered your channel.
I've been watching since you first tackled 1-1 and always looked forward to every new upload. You did an incredible job with this challenge and I can't wait to see what comes next. Thanks for everything!
This here, is the endgame of the series. Firstly, I would like to talk about the problematic parts of this level. We have the first at the first part of the level, there’s gonna need to be lots of bubbling and bouncing characters on eachother during the first part. And it has to be perfect because there are too many hazards here, such as, lava, lava bubbles, fire bars, and even falling platforms later on. Then there’s the second part of the level, where there are lots of falling platforms (those ones that look like cake to me and that is why I call them cake platforms), which would require a bunch more stacking players, and moving them from platform to platform, because if you mess up one jump, the attempt is over. We then have the hall to the first phase of the bowser fight, which would be easier said than done. This is due to there being a couple of pits on the way to his fight, which requires A, lots of backtracking on certain occasions B, having characters stacked to get across the pits, and C, LOTS of damage boosting. Then there’s the actual fight, which begins as an issue because the players automatically get unstacked because of the cutscene. It’s an easy fix though because you can have the characters run into bowser or his fire to kill them, and have them back in bubbles. Then, you can do one of three things. 1, you can have at least 2 players bounce and do a DGP (Double Ground-Pound), and damage bowser. Then repeat that until 3 have been performed, killing the first phase of bowser, but then there’s the problem of having no way to die without bowser, which in turn, means no way of hitting the switch, so you must have a bouncing player on one of the ground pounding players for it to succeed, which, again, is easier said than done, but if a player dies at the right time, you can run to the switch and wait for the bubbled player to come back and once you pop them, they will hit the switch. 2, you can wait for bowser to jump after having a player die to him and then stack the player on top of a player, wait for the jump, then have both run at the same time, and perfectly to make sure the bouncing player can hit the switch in time, but if one dies, just wait for the bubbled player to come back and then pop them. Or 3, stack all 4 players and have the top one try to bounce above bowser and hit the switch, but if the player doesn’t, then kill at least 1 of the other players and they will bubble. Then pop it and they will hit the switch. And then there’s the second phase, aka, Eternal hell. The beginning isn’t too hard, just bounce players off of each other while being cautious of the fire and ground beneath you. And direct the fireballs off the ground but not too high up, as if they are too high, in an area out of reach, you could potentially lose that attempt. And if they go too low on the other hand, they could destroy the ground, making everything a whole lot more difficult. Then, we come to the second half, aka, the hell part of Eternal hell. This section, is an absolute nightmare. First off, lots of precise bounces off players and bubbles, as holding players is done by shaking the remote, which is illegal (the shakes in 8-Airship I’m counting those as fair shakes since they don’t make you jump or anything) so the bounces it is, but then, we have the going over and under the ground that is destroyed by bowser, which is painful, because the platforms, they don’t stop moving for anything, and what makes it worse is bowser’s fireballs being aimed at the players and the players can’t move out of the way much at all. And there’s also lava waves coming up and down frequently when bowser jumps, and those can interfere with the paths of the platforms and if you stay on those that interfere for too long, say goodbye to the attempt. Not to mention, you have to do that, for a very, very long part of the level, and most of them are 1 blocks gaps, so the players always stay small, not to mention bouncing while the platforms are moving and the ground is in the way, is painful on its own. Then at the end, hitting the switch as usual is like doing it at the first phase but also you have to be cautious of the lava and bowser as hitting any of those would end the run. But once that switch is hit, it’s an amazing feeling that you completed the game! I’m very proud of you for making it this far. And I would love to crown you as the Mario jumpless G.O.A.T.! And congratulations!
I don't think the hallway is possible, as it immediately begins with a flat surface with a large object in the way. In multiplayer, all four characters spawn in flat on the ground, unlike at the beginning of the airship. There are fireballs, but the fireball that would be deadly is stopped by the object in the way. I can't imagine any way of bypassing that obstacle. I was pleasantly wrong!
the journey is over. Sad that you couldn't make 8-airship work, but it's equally impressive that every other world is passable jumpless. Thank you 🙏🙏i hope you return for world 9
I knew that boss fight would be a pain in the ass, and it most certainly looked like it was. Had me on my toes. Especially when you almost lost right at the very end. If that fireball had hit Mario, or if Luigi's bubble had taken too long to get to Mario... It's a shame that the second to last level was the one that broke the challenge. You came so close. Still, I'm glad you saw it through anyway and still did this one to complete it.
As others have said: the fact that this challenge is only technically a loss (for no spinning rule) because of some SCREWS in airship still counts this as a win in my book. No jumping! It was great to see. Shame there's no clearly defined way to allow those screws, but it is what is best. No jumps were used, though! Astounding!
What can I say except GG for this work? You've done it so far and kept going. You should be proud of yourself. Although I'm a bit sad this journey end, but every journey has to come to an end... So thanks again, this was incredible. P.S: loved the part of the falling bones approximately at 3:10
I feel like defining the one level that requires shaking as “failed” really undercuts this whole challenge. I mean is the A button challenge considered to be a failure because you need A presses for entering some levels (A presses that will likely never be saved)? No it’s not a failure, it’s just that it’s as close as possible. In my book this challenge is a total success. I mean, only one single level that needed to break the rules? That’s amazing
Wow when I saw the thumbnail for 1-1 I thought it was a one time thing but holy crap when I saw the rest of the jumpless videos on your channel I was hooked and here I am now after watching the challenge be completed. Good job man (For 8-Airship I wouldn't feel the slightest upset because while you did violate a rule for your jumpless rules you still met the criteria for a full jumpless run of the game and that is a achievement worth being proud of).
What a wonderfull way to end this challenge ! So many deaths, so many well timed bounces ! Congrats and thanks you for this series ! Take a rest. Even if I secretely hope that you, or someone else, will push the rest of the game to its limits again.
I just want to say that this series was super interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing more insane content of that kind so once you come back from your well deserved rest, I be happy to watch more stuff and also regarding the 8-airship thing, as frustrating as it is, I think it's good the way it is
Congratulations! While it wasn't a complete success, I still enjoyed watching the journey. With how popular the series was, I hope other people will try their hand at it. It would be cool seeing people come together to finish it. I'm glad I was able to watch along!
Thank you so much for committing your time to this challenge. What you did was absolutely amazing. You are most certainly now my favourite Mario TH-camr. Maybe later on when you are finished with your break, you could try and 100% the game? Now I know some star coins and levels are impossible to complete, but maybe you could have a counter with how many times you shook or jumped? And maybe you could bring the mini mushroom back for some of the STAR COINS only? Edit: removed some unnecessary information.
This has been a wild ride! It's been great to see how the tech has improved compared to when you first started. I hope we eventually get to see the other levels, but you've definitely earned a break.

congratulations on getting this done with 0 jumps!! (the motion control beforehand doesn't count as a jump) and enjoy the break!! hopefully we'll be able to see world 9 _(the way to world 9 is definitely gonna be difficult/impossible, but i'm just thinking about the levels themselves)_
loved this series a lot! can't wait for what wacky mario challenges you do next!! :]
And the purge finally ends after so long RIP the many lives sacrificed in the name of perfection
I was here since day 1...I genuinely thought this was a joke but I kept seeing more notifications and I kept watching....I am surprised you made it this far!
The little meme at the end is just such an amazing touch 😂
It took a billion 1-up mushrooms, but you made it.
You take that well deserved break.
What a ride. Was an honor to be here since 1-2!
It's been a wild ride, but i'm glad we were able to end it on a happy note.
Wow, I haven’t been this hype on a gameplay video since TRG took on World 9 and cooperated! 😮
i'm glad i watched it unfold, it's real dedication.
This deserves so much for the ending and this is where the journey comes to an end, what a great series without jumping, I still can’t believe it was possible to beat the finale level, great job, thanks for everything
Mario, Luigi, Yellow Toad, and Blue Toad quest is finally over ❤️💚💛💙
they get to jump as much as they want during the credits party, as a treat
Even if there were some hitches along the way that don't make it truly "ultimate", I still call this challenge a success. Congrats on beating the game without jumping!
lols for you to meme on the ending cutscene with Bowser and his falling castle, somehow it just fits
Also off-topic comments, sometimes some categories of music get quite underrated, including title screen and credits music of games, credits music of movies, and exit music of stage musicals.
I wish all of the 4 characters would be at the end with the princess
But what a journey, thanks a lot for making this series, that was amazing
You crazy son of a gun... you did it! Nice job! Other than *one* unfortunate level, you beat the game flawlessly. Awesome!
i really wondered how you'd pull off the room with the falling platforms this whole time and my god i was on the edge of my seat
So kind of boad and yoad to leave the final battle in their bubbles and retrieve some getaway balloons for the squad 💙💛
Dude think about this from Bowser’s perspective. He’s probably screaming, “I’ve killed you like fifteen dozen times! Why do you little freaks keep coming back!?”
good to see Luigi is the true victor as always
That was insane. Working with Big Bowser’s fire balls must’ve been hard
Have a wonderful well-deserved break! I’ll be eagerly awaiting your return to my notifications :D
I normally never comment on yt video's, but this has been quite the journey the past few months. I played this game to death when I was a kid (almost literally. I used up 2 cd's of this game), and to see it beaten like this brings me so much joy. Thanks for all the work!
I can’t believe this was possible I have been here since this started, congrats
I'm sad it's over but I am here for the long haul! Excited what you tackle next.
Been watching since upload day of the first episode, loved every minute
Okay so I counted all the deaths
All deaths is including going back for secret exits, both plays of 1-tower, but not the deaths from 1-up grinding since there's no video proof of every death on that
But here's the deaths for anyone who cares to know:
Mario: 193
Luigi: 198
Yellow Toad: 182
Blue Toad: 209
Total: 782
No words... just 3:00, holy moly
The ending actually made me crack up audibly xD
Great run!! Enjoyed every bit and can't wait to see more of your stuff in the future!! For now, enjoy your break! You earned it!!
Have been following this series since the beginning, glad you finally finish this crazy challenge!
Congrats you beat a Mario game without jumping. It’s crazy how it’s possible.
Great analysis.
I didn't realize how grand this level was, thank you😊
I don't think the hallway is possible, as it immediately begins with a flat surface with a large object in the way. In multiplayer, all four characters spawn in flat on the ground, unlike at the beginning of the airship. There are fireballs, but the fireball that would be deadly is stopped by the object in the way. I can't imagine any way of bypassing that obstacle.
I was pleasantly wrong!
MY MAN LUIGI IS THE ONE TO HIT THE FINAL BUTTON
the journey is over. Sad that you couldn't make 8-airship work, but it's equally impressive that every other world is passable jumpless. Thank you 🙏🙏i hope you return for world 9
erm, adeal... the 4 characters jumped in the credits... run voided. For real good work on this project though! secret stages next? ;)
P.S: loved the part of the falling bones approximately at 3:10
THE END IS NEAR
I feel like defining the one level that requires shaking as “failed” really undercuts this whole challenge. I mean is the A button challenge considered to be a failure because you need A presses for entering some levels (A presses that will likely never be saved)? No it’s not a failure, it’s just that it’s as close as possible.
In my book this challenge is a total success. I mean, only one single level that needed to break the rules? That’s amazing
They do count, just that you can use start to enter levels.
Following it since the beginning, this is so great!
Phenomenal job on the entire series, I enjoyed it thoroughly! Looking forward to what you do next, have a good break!
This is one of the most fun TH-cam channels to keep up with. GGs!
What a wonderfull way to end this challenge ! So many deaths, so many well timed bounces ! Congrats and thanks you for this series !
Take a rest. Even if I secretely hope that you, or someone else, will push the rest of the game to its limits again.
When I realize Big Bowser is later on in this stage:
**You guys are so screwed**
Can’t believe it’s been 7 months of this series. Great work. So glad you kept going to the end
I would love to see this compiled into a single run with the overworld and everything :)
Excellent job, take a break. You deserve it. Congratulations
What a wonderful series. I think the 8-7 level was my favorite.
Now the only question really left is 5-T Ultra Jumpless
that was one of the most intense bowser battles I've seen (not that I've seen many but still :p). wonderful series
Wow amazing series, congratulations for your work!
Love that it's the bros that hit the button, leaving the toads in the dust. Fitting
Congratulations, love your work can’t wait to see what’s next from you
3:17 the combos bro
6:18 is mind boggling
This has been a wild ride! It's been great to see how the tech has improved compared to when you first started. I hope we eventually get to see the other levels, but you've definitely earned a break.
Thank you for all your effort!
