I dunno what’s more insane. The fact that it took five worlds plus the previous playthroughs plus playing with Masae for Emile to learn how to run or the fact that nobody noticed he wasn’t running. Not Tim, not Jon, not even the audience. We all noticed now that we’re revisiting this too.

It always surprises me how so many people don't figure out that the DK in the end barrel is by far most likely to give bananas. Only took me a few attempts to realize the odds were weighted towards bananas.

In Emile’s defense, the game doesn’t teach you how to run. Why? Because Wii Remote + Nunchuck style (the default control scheme) does NOT have a Run button. You tilt the Control Stick a little to walk and all the way to run.
Also DK and Diddy aren’t entirely slow when walking.
Yes, the "Not Running for 5 worlds" revelation is great, but props to Tim for perfect clapback those goobers could've made. ...Before Emile followed that up with a capper on this rigamarole of a spectacle.
I feel pretty confident when I say that "Emile's Realization" is going to win the #1 moment by a landslide.

Emile can make a 100 episode playthrough and 200 episode playthrough of Xenoblade 1 and 2 going into every little thing about the game
But holding down one button to run that’s the real challenge 😂

Pfft, in this compilation part is the LP’s funniest moment: Emile learning to run after five worlds.
I also had a moment where it took me a long time to learn the run button but that was with Cold Steel 1 and 2 which is more forgivable with those being RPGs.
I have a friend who has arachnophobia and if I showed him the spider level for the first time. He would get PTSD from it.
30:49 if you actually wait in the barrel, the spiders will start piling themselves up and will eventually get you.

Besides the obvious moment, Muncher Marathon deserves acknowledgement as one of the best levels in this game! I just feel bad for anyone afraid of spiders..
Well if it makes anyone feel better I don't think I was aware that you can run with the one button...
I played the entirety of the game with the wii remote and nunchuck. I didn't even need to hold down the one button because of that.

Something tells me they really wanted to do a jungle theme for world 5 but already had it in the first world so just called it forest as the closest substitute, cause this world acts way more like a jungle like habitat than a typical forest. When I say forest I mean those you typically define as woodlands
I have a confession to make.
I'm pretty sure I also didn't know you could run when I played this game.
*Five. Worlds. In.*
That's it. That's the highlight. All else pales in comparison.
I wish I can defend this, but hear me out, I think the problem is that they were playing this with the Wii Remote sideways, so I understand why the biggie here is that NCS and especially Chugga didn't know that. But I think the two may have played it originally with the Wii Remote and Nun chuck controls, which lets you run automatically.
Sadly, the big issue is that this meant Jon had been the Grand Master for Donkey Kong and him having to deal with not only a Retro Player with Multiplayer as his weakness, and an RPG Player who plays worse a day or so later with these kinds of games, was a headache the size of the Grand Canyon.
Long story short, it will get worse, especially since they are rushing through the game and World 6 will demonstrate this soon enough.
