  • At Mountainside, there was a natural flow of possibilities emanating from the desert itself. The powerful curves of the granite boulders dominated, yet they were held so gently by golden sands and delicate flora. Looking back, all of this spoke about balance and harmony, and this describes my clients as well. The stream of their intentions gathered in wonderful conversations, some meandered around and between grand aspirations eventually pooling in humble clarity. I drank it in with equal passion and began to draw. I drew sketches and plans and details of course, but mostly I drew the hillside with a beautiful life there. It is their life and a remarkable one, too. For that, I am compelled to thank them for the opportunity every time I see them.

    Awesome house. It’s an honor to do the petina work on the copper fascia for this home 🙌. The area it’s in is just fantastic. “DKS Copper Finishes”👍

    Really well done Craig, in overall composition and in the details! That huge boulder 2/3's of the way up behind the house is my hang-up (as seen right at the end) . I sure hope that thing is locked in! (It looks to be). I also really appreciated the rear patio and terraced landscape design. What a great scale for that space and works really well in integrating inside to outside.

    I see a lot of Frank Lloyd Wright inspiration in this design. This is an excellent example of Desert Organic Architecture.

    Beautiful all around! Would love to see these desert dwellers/builders use solar panels.

    • @chrisball6900
      @chrisball6900 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Solar panels are not the clean green power you might think. The metal solar parts are a fusion of high quality quartz and fossil coal fused together at some 1800C in a furnace that is heated to that temperature by fossil coal. And solar panels have a use-by-date of 10-15 years after which all parts are useless.

      @@chrisball6900 Interesting points. Of course there’s no perfect energy source, but that’s a step in the right direction. 10-15 years from now, it could be better still, in my humble opinion .

      Check out thorium reactors. If we really cared about the environment we would be building hundreds of them. Instead of contaminating the environment with solar panels. Too bad Democrat donors didn't invest in buildings thorium reactors. Peoples carbon footprint would be minimal. By the way trees are carbon neutral,. As they reach the end of their life span, they start to release co2. Young trees absorb co2. Let's get rid of plastic. Let's use wood products, that are renewable and biodegradable. Lock up that co2.

    I love it! The style and interior is my type. I’d like to see solar panels, maybe deck on roof to enjoy view, I’ve always wanted tennis court and half court basketball though. Love the style and desert and hills!!! Beautiful

      That's a horrible idea. That is what the clubhouse is for. They have a HOA,. Not a single person living their would tolerate a court. If you want your own court, this part of scottsdale isn't for you. Buy a in the westside. Ruin the nicest desert in the world for a court really?

      @@tonygareth221 not there fool. It has a HOA. Buy your house in the hood. The city of scottsdale has rules to protect the desert. The hood seems to be the place where you will be the most comfortable. You can do what you want there. Bill gates couldn't even build a court there.
