What reel you using on the heavy set up have a lizard x 40-130 with Bft reel that never really been happy with feels cheap compared to my tranx that sits on my 20-80 w6 jerk bait rod
@leeramskill2683 I’m using my tranx 301 here on the sg4 rod, and the Westin w6 reel on the Westin jerk rod 👍
Never really convinced when certain brand go into unknown waters start making reels the Bft reel ain’t nothing like my tranx 301 might try a tatula 300 next

If you wouldn't mind helping me out I'm hoping to get into perch fishing on lakes using the drop shotting method. I'm just wondering what size rod (casting weight, length) what size reel should I purchase? Or any particular rods would you recommend? I usually use braid for my pike fishing and trout fishing with fluorocarbon tied directly to braid for the trout!
Any 1-10 gram light jig or dropshot rod is ideal, 6-7 ft is plenty long. For the reel, look at Daiwa ninja 2000 it’s cheap and perfect. For the line go for braid , 0.10mm is the ideal size for perch. ☺️👍

You must have been fishing a few months ago for pike because the spooning at the minute con from Athlone
This was on Saturday con, we fished ree last week, they aren’t spawning there either , finished from what we seen. I’m sure a few are still.
