How do you get around snagging weeds and reeds please or do you not have to worry as your braid is strong enough to break it free I keep losing my lures because of the reeds

Yeah I use very heavy braid for large soft plastics. Almost always 85lb+. But, I also use split rings on my rigging that I know the breaking strain of and will straighten out when pulled. That way, worst case scenario I lose a treble or two. 🤙🏻🎣

For big lures (25cm+) I highly recommend a heavy casting reel setup. They are much better suited for big heavy lures. Takes a little getting used to if you’ve always been a spinning reel user, but once you get it, you won’t look back.

To be fair, it’s not long had a service 😂 It’s just an old reel that I’ve really put through it over the years. It was used solely in saltwater for a long time and I feel like it shows the signs of that sometimes 😂😂
