I saw these guys on the 'Highway to Hell' Tour in '80 at the Hammersmith Odeon. By the time they'd finished I was soaked in sweat and my ears were ringing for two days afterwards. They were, and still are, brilliant.
Ah the Apollo in Glasgow, Scotland. Legendary band at a legendary venue! I was standing outside the venue when they pulled it down to make luxury flats and seriously guys were crying!
My uncle told me this track in particular was always huge at their home gigs in Aust, and they often opened with it. Looks like was similar when Europe/UK touring. This is right at their peak as a live band...doesnt get much better than this. Incredible band with Bon Scott in Late 70's.
The clear beat in backround as Angus keeps going as you mention, is their tight ass sound and band. With Angus STAR...but what a collectively tight rock band.
In case you didn't know; this is the recording that ended up on If You Want Blood; You've Got It. Most, if not all of the songs on that cd are from this show.
It was the Young brother's sister Margret who actually suggested that Angus wear the school boy outfit because he would come home from school and practice guitar without taking off his school uniform and she was the was also the one who suggested the name AC/DC after seeing it on her sewing machine,.
At least they resurrected this tune with Axl, one of the few good things to come out of the post Brian era. Dude knew his classic AC/DC tunes, no doubt about it.
I am not sure we will ever see another Angus Young again either. His energy on stage is just incredible. How many guitarists can play that good moving that much?
Or Malcolm who Angus looked up to as a guitarist until he died both played 50yrs of hard rockn hits in every decade Dave Gilmore can’t be underestimated for longevity and he sings as well AC/DC & Pink Floyd have the top 2 rock albums of all time interesting fact both bands lasted over 50yrs and had 3 lead singer changes Barrett Rogers Gilmore and AC/DC had Dave Evans Bon Scott Brian Johnson just shows guitarist lead hard rock bands Van Halen is another good example
My favourite accadacca tune..... I read that Malcolm was asked which song best describes what ac/dc are all about, and his reply was " Riff Raff ". and I can only agree :)
I went to the same high school as Bon Scott I’m only 28 so not at the same time lol but I go past the statue of him in Fremantle Western Australia all the time
Say what you want about Axl Rose but I saw him perform this with the boys in London and Manchester on the RorB tour and he absolutely nailed it. Brian has preformed it as well, I think it was on the MTV VHS thingy and it was great bluesy take on it. This is one my all time favourite ACDC songs it’s just pure adrenaline in music form.
You’ve reacted to basically every one of these videos from this performance so please god please react to rocker from this performance I swear you won’t regret it. Best song/video out of all of them
How good was Bon? They were really in their pomp in this Glasgow show, best RnR Band in the World at that time IMO. Made into a great live album If You Want Blood
I'll also go with Problem Child. For a little less requested one, maybe Night Prowler. Edit: Nvm. I see you already did Night Prowler. Will go watch now. *flees*
Angus was best guitarist I saw live. Never saw johny winter, but saw frehley stones 2x, van halen( weak as hell ) 3x . nugent the who. Many others. He was best . consistent bad ass live .
They had family going to shows in Glasgow and, with Brian in ‘82, at Edinburgh ( a friend never believed the guy he was with saying that a woman was taking about ‘seeing there lads’ at The Playhouse. A colleague got to see them at Dundee Caird Hall on this tour - he was out in the Pub allegedly-nearest city to where Bon’s family were from and where he was born in ‘Angus’ 😀.
Angus is one of a kind He’s the Front man of AC/DC but doesn’t sing that’s why they survived 3 lead singers & 3 drummer changes 50+ years of hits in every decade amazing live concerts playing Dirty Deeds for 21 minutes then Angus goes straight home and plays guitar all day every day while he feeds his 1 addiction Chocolate Milk lol doesn’t touch drugs or alcohol yet even he always felt Malcolm who was a top guitarist before he brought Angus his first SG to learn on was better than him all the famous riffs are Malcolms and he played a lot more lead in the background than people realise so Angus could be the Showman and still never miss a note Watch let there be rock they both play the identical chords that’s early 70s Angus got better and better but all men have that senior sibling or father that always mentally dominates us.
When you listen to their first (and best) live "If you want blood" ... that's THIS CONCERT you're listening to.
One of top 5 hard rock live album's in history.
i was there
There is no band ever on the planet that can match the energy put out in that song.............
1970's AC/DC....The BEST!!
Absolutely.I saw ACDC 3 times in the 70s.That was my favorite band with bon scott
You cannot beat Bon era AC/DC. He was the man.
I saw these guys on the 'Highway to Hell' Tour in '80 at the Hammersmith Odeon. By the time they'd finished I was soaked in sweat and my ears were ringing for two days afterwards. They were, and still are, brilliant.
Great review of arguably one of AC/DC’s finest songs, Riff Raff.
You can tell it was the first song of the set, Bon is still wearing a top.
He wears it till the 3rd ( 2nd was Rockn roll damnation)
Dude, love your energy and pure love for freakin good music ... rock on !
Ah the Apollo in Glasgow, Scotland. Legendary band at a legendary venue! I was standing outside the venue when they pulled it down to make luxury flats and seriously guys were crying!
WILL SCOTT playing in front of their “home” crowd back in Scotland.
Finally! Rock n roll! Keep up the good work man!
My uncle told me this track in particular was always huge at their home gigs in Aust, and they often opened with it. Looks like was similar when Europe/UK touring.

They just know they're in a rockin' band and they're just having fun up there. Awesome.
In case you didn't know; this is the recording that ended up on If You Want Blood; You've Got It. Most, if not all of the songs on that cd are from this show.
Americans and Australians are the same damn people sometimes

I am not sure we will ever see another Angus Young again either. His energy on stage is just incredible. How many guitarists can play that good moving that much?
Agreed, Angus is a guitar genius, and his tone is pure magic.
Your energy build up in this video is crazy bro I literally seen you built up your energy
Best riff ever.

After forever - Monolith of doubt live 2002. Floor at her 20's 🤘😍
Doesn’t get any better than this
Angus may be the only non-singer to be considered another front man in the band. They really had two of them.
greatest rock band with bon scott of course., no angus got out of school and went To guitar practice in uniform.
His sister used to dress him up after school,, until he got fed up with the dresses and the uniform was born 🏴
AC⚡DC es energía pura 💥🔥🌡️

This is their best song besides Problem Child.

I'll also go with Problem Child. For a little less requested one, maybe Night Prowler.
Edit: Nvm. I see you already did Night Prowler. Will go watch now. *flees*
