    funny that even magnus is not confident of the move orders of the pirc defense.

      He plays by gut not calculation

    This is very satisfying to watch how he converts this equal drawing positions into a win in a few moves . Truly magical .

    Whether it's good or bad, Magnus can play any opening! 😄 What makes this possible is he's so good at other aspects of the game that it's ok for him to enter the middlegame with an inferior position. Magnus actually does very well playing openings that are not super common at the master level. In fact, there was one game where he started off with 1. c3 followed by c4 the next move. I don't know if he was just toying with them by flat out giving up a tempo, or maybe he did it to avoid certain lines.

    3:33 after Nb6 what if rook takes pawn

      Magnus would of just went Nxd5 for a discovered attack on the rook and since whites next move would be to retreat with the rook instead of attacking the knight, it would of just been a pawn trade with black having a better position

    It seems like there'd a be a way for White to mate by playing Queen G6 no?

    • @joseeugeniojr
      @joseeugeniojr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pawn in G6 is defended by the pawn in F7, so capturing it with the queen would be a blunder.

      Not at all, even if black would've castled long the check wouldn't really do anything.

      After QxG6, FxG6, NF5+, GxF5, there are no further checks. Black will mate next move.
