The Craven/Busch finish at Darlington is #1 not just because of the battle to the finish, but Kurt's reaction to losing defined his character and the sports. He was just overjoyed to have been a part of it. Bullring racing at 170mph often goes badly, but when it doesn't it's f*cking glorious.
The Siegs have been racing forever. I went to elementary school with Shane Sieg (RIP) and I remember being so jealous that he was a racer. That was always my dream job, even as a kid.
FOX Broadcast was definitely an easier watch at Atlanta. Harvick especially seemed to he more relaxed and natural. Still looking forward to the NBC races though.
2003 darlington will forever be the greatest finish of all time! They beat the hell out of each other for 3 laps... driving them cars sideways for 3 laps is different than holding it wide open and side drafting! Great race for today's Era!

Following up on the comments about Trackhouse with 4 drivers and 2 seats. I am of the “opinion” (yep, I know we all have one and they all stink) that the 2 Kaulig cup cars will be racing in the 2025 season under the Trackhouse banner, Kaulig will function as the Xfinity team for TH, much like HMS & JRM. I suspect the financials might be 40M cash for one charter and 40M buy-in to Trackhouse for the other charter. Justin keeps signing drivers, he has a plan for those drivers, and I doubt it is to build someone else’s organization. That is my “bold prediction” for the 2025 season, a formal relationship between Trackhouse and Kaulig.
I like this, kaulig has had tremendous success in Xfinity. The facts that kaulig won 2-3 cup races with allmendinger is already a tremendous achievement. You could argue that’s their peak in cup. Trackhouse is on the rise and I think we saw Kaulig at its best in cup, a 19th-25th place points team, steal a few wins. This is an interesting idea for sure.
Take away the finish of the Cup race and it was still the most exciting and action packed race I've seen from that series in a long, long time. Lead changes, lines coming and going, three and four wide racing to get the heart pounding. The only down side is still the amount of time for cautions and especially stage breaks. Far, far too long.
About 40 mins, but you probably figured that out. My thing is that everyone always looks at results and not where guys run when it comes to seat safety talks. Daniel will show top 10 speed a good portion of the schedule, and winning speed a few races per year now. But either he, the pit crew, the strategy, or just getting caught up in a wreck takes him out of it. Like pretty much any Roadcourse he ran except his win at Sonoma. Heck, even Daytona last week, he was up front with not much time to go but gets barely caught up in the late big one when the 38 came back up the track. If he doesn't get hit there, he easily lands a top 10, probably top 5, and maybe even contends for that win as well. Daniel doesn't often have a running pace problem (although he does more than he should), but he just needs to run a clean race. And at ATL here, aside from Lap 2, he and his crew did exactly that.
its nice to finally see a realistic take on the Atlanta finish. all the goofballs teens on social media think its the best finish ever because all they do is look at a close finish with 0 context. Gluck's poll on best finish ever says it all lol
these guys contradict themselves all the time. how tf was suarez lucked into a win? if he shuts the hole on the back stretch, cendric rides the high line (preferred lane) into 3 and forces suarez to the middle. these guys, especially freddie, are always throwing jabs at suarez 🤡🤡🤡
For him to say the race is not in his top 10 Best races. Show how big the range is for what makes a great races for people. One thinks this race is great, and another thinks it not, and they have the opposite opinion the next week. It's more like this in Racing than any other sport
I don't think there is any pressure on any of the SHR drivers. If everyone of them is in the hot seat, you have nothing to lose, just go for it! Drive like hell and who gives a phuque what happens!
6:00 why not drop the penalty cars back with 2 laps to go, then there is less “rush” coming to 1 to go. NASCAR trying to condense race time, but to TJs point, shorten the race.
The fox broadcast still had too many commercials. And one of the wrecks they let damn near the whole caution play out before coming back. Agreed they camera are too tight to see some of the runs better than the 500 but I think they need to take some lessons from nbc
I've been seeing very little talk about that, but I think the reason is simple. If it was at a non-drafting track it definitely would have gotten more coverage. With it being a drafting race and caused mainly by drivers out of fuel, I think that takes away from it. Even though it doesn't really matter how you get a position, it's still one of those things where it's a "yeah, but" moment. A great race for him though and I'm excited to see how he does on "normal" ovals.
Winning a restrictor plate (or whatever they calll them these days...I know they dont use carbs/restrictor plates anymore) race is not an indicator that a racer is worthy of a contract extension. Let see what he does on the tracks that require the types of driving skills that are needed to win at 30/36 cup dates.
Yeah this show has become so negative, from the Logano situation to the Trackhouse hate, and a bunch of other things. It was a great race, yes it's a Superspeedway, but who cares just enjoy the race. These guys are those old heads always complaining, just enjoy it.
I liked the spotlight fox gave to the 24 pit crew, and the crank it up on pit lane. I want the sport to care about the teams, to the point that they should be talked about when they transfer in the off season. They should be as well known as the crew chief at least.
This is not racing anymore. This is manufactured, gimmick, corporate entertainment. Bring back the RAW POWER and put the car control back into the drivers hands. I cannot watch this random racing. I can’t wait until my local track stafford opens this year and i can watch actual racing.
Two things about Xfinity and trucks that are quite easy to understand guys. 1 most of the drivers are young and inexperienced meaning they don't go up through the ranks like they used to they. Skip ranks so they don't have the experience. Two they limited the cup drivers down to five races a year to the point that most cup drivers don't even go down there anymore. Which is kind of stupid there was nothing wrong with cup drivers going there especially my boy KB. I can't help it my boy just does nothing but win there but hey that's called experience. And number three which should probably be number one but number three is the worst of all and that is pay drivers. Drivers that get in because of either mommy and daddy's money or a sponsors money and ain't got a damn bit of skill to save their life. No skill at all. Hell not even being pompous I think I could do better than a lot of them but you know what they got the money so they got the ride. That should be number one cuz that's probably the biggest problem with the Xfinity n truck's.
The Cup race was a boring parade or Truck style wreckfest at Daytona and Atlanta. 900 MILES between those two races, and they were great for all of the last 900 feet.
It’s really refreshing to hear these guys’ take on the Atlanta race. Listening to the guys on the Teardown sounded like teenage girls who just met Taylor Swift. It was a good race with a great finish. It wasn’t the “best ever” anything. I realize that in 2024 everything has to be the best ever, but it’s good to hear people who have watched decades of racing bring some adult perspective.

NASCAR has thrown cautions for so many minor and more stupid things that have screwed so many drivers out of a win but two cars stopped on the track they let it go. Nascar is getting really hard to watch with their inconsistency.
I totally disagree regarding the no practice. They are supposed to be the best drivers, they should not need practice. If practice returns let's say with 20 minutes, it will be no time until it is 3 hours, again.
@@ak102986 Already stated my point, practice isn't a problem. The only logical reason to not have practice is to cut team costs, which is in fact the reason why we don't have practice.
