Had a group of 15 over to grill out and watch the race( non nascar fans) we were on our feet the last couple of laps! I’d say the racing yesterday made at least a couple new fans
Denny this has got to be one of the funniest episodes I’ve watched lately. I have a renewed since of appreciation for what you do on and off the track. I look forward to seeing each episode. You’re not my favorite driver but you’re definitely in my top five. I really enjoy your honesty. Good luck on the 2024 season and I hope you have a great season.
Hey Denny, I am new to Nascar coming from circuit racing. Somehow the Daytona 500 live onboard footage from you made it into my suggestions. At that moment for the first time Nascar caught my attention: No commentary, just pure sound and flow of you and the pack. I loved it! Now I see you have a podcast , so be sure I'll be rooting for you 👍
I’m so pumped you guys have started putting the podcast on TH-cam the same day it goes on Spotify, it made no sense last year that the audio only version released first and we had to wait until Thursday/Friday to see the full video part of it.
I'm 28 years old and a lifelong NASCAR fan. From flag to flag that race was easily in the top 10 cup races I've ever watched. It could have finished under caution and it would still be considered a great race, but that's not what happened. What happened was one of the greatest finishes in motorsports history.
Just an fyi: I started watching your youtube channel full on after watching the Netflix show you were a large part of. That show actually changed my opinion of you. Much the same as the Nascar drivers at home show changed my opinion for the better of Harvick back in the day. When the fans get to see a day in the life type show of drivers (like MTV CRIBS) it creates more hard core fans. We get to see real everyday life, loves and family life away from the track and realize you all are multi faceted and human beings with every day issues and life choices and personalities. We need more shows like that! Thank you - loved the interactions of you with your girls! It was awesome! Thank you!
I'm new to NASCAR, but I grew up watching F1 and totally loving it. After the last race, I can confidently admit that NASCAR is bringing me just the same joy as F1 back in the day. Sorry to see you suffer the crashes, your driving was still on point and insanely good! Long story short: Got into NASCAR after seeing the Netflix shows about the race and Bubba's documentary. I don't usually watch/listen to podcasts, but it's always interesting to hear the insights from the driver's POV and I think you're doing great with your podcast! I would suggest adding a few clips of the race while discussing since noobs like me have no idea what happened in the specific races unless it would complicate things due to copyright reasons. Just an idea. Totally hyped for Las Vegas Motor Speedway! Well, and good luck!
1:10:56 When I heard about the glove story and how pilots deflect the air in superspeedways with their left hand I imagined a driver with a giant foam glove ready on their cars, those gloves you see at baseball parks with a huge index.
Yo what’s up Denny. New fan of NASCAR from India. Loved the series. This podcast helps me a lot because I can’t ever catch a race live, only highlights. Thus, listening to detailed breakdowns of the race is great plus I learn more about the sport. Thank you boss man. Hopefully I can catch a race the next time I come out stateside
The fact he's talking about considering the time he has left and than goes into that much detail about pissing himself, is just hilarious! Then talking about how he likes it. This is what makes the show great!
Made my day I was cracking up we have four of us who bet every week and I always take Denny but didn’t last week anyway i can’t wait to show them the peeing video to funny
Listening in from Australia, while another driver is my #1, I’ve been on the Denny side train since seeing you play floor is lava in lockdown, the podcast is awesome & gives me sanity in Sydney peak hour traffic! Great job team!
As a Larson fan I'm not the biggest Hamlin fan, but I always enjoy listening to this podcast just to hear Denny's racing knowledge and POV on certain events. Great podcast as always! See you in 2 weeks at Phoenix!
Def hate when the xfinity guys don’t try to pass each other in closing laps man. I feel like Austin is always the only guy actively tryna pass which is why he always wins. (I know this weekend was different because everybody ran outta fuel)
I do enjoy this podcast with Denny. I have to admit, I wasn't a Denny fan before this but I have watched NASCAR for over 30 years and his candidness and honesty is refreshing and appreciated.
I was in the stands at the exit of pit road, from what I could tell the stands seemed to be at or near full capacity. One thing to remember during the race you’ve got people coming and going to the concessions and bathroom so at times it may not seem full.
Best race NASCAR has put on in years. A few too many wrecks but like detailed, most of the crashed cars continued and some remained competitive. Great Show
What a great episode! I enjoy listening to this every week. Denny, your description of peeing your seat 🤣🤣🤣. Sorry this happened to you but thanks for the laugh. " what do they do febreeze it" Love my Nascar been fan since 2004. Hamlin fan so I'll be watching on Sunday 🏁. Go for the championship this year, be rooting for you🙂
Did anyone say anything about Daniel using his roll bar padding/guard (whatever those black pieces zipped tied/hose clamped to the bar) to block air when qualifying Daytona? After his lap, you can see him pulling it back towards the inside of the car.
Logano wasn't penalized cuz he put his hand up. He was penalized for modifying the gloves which have to meet a certain SFI rating with material that didn't meet that rating. Therefore voiding the rating altogether on the glove.
Runs being bigger at Atlanta due to size answers the question I had of why it seemed like at Atlanta cars were able to make independent moves to make passes. At Daytona if a guy dropped out of line to make something happen he more often lost positions whereas in Atlanta we were seeing guys move forward by jumping out of line seemingly every lap
There are cameras that can slow down the frames per seconds to the point you can see a bullet traveling at a snails pace. NASCAR can absolutely upgrade there cameras to be able to catch cars at only 200 mph for a finish line photo that is helping decide races

54:20 NASCAR have just now realized that they need a high speed (high frame rate) camera at the line. 30 fps ain't cutting it in the new world. Call Mythbusters. Or the high speed camera TH-cam guys with the guns and the watermelons and the whatnot... All that Laser Dome stuff in tech inspection and a Hi8 Camcorder at the Start/Finish line? I mean really! Love the podcast especially on TH-cam. I do boo the 11 car not out of animosity, but for fun. I like DH. On another note I’m not what to think about the peeing incident but I’m sure Carl Edwards ant Tyler Reddick were not real thrilled to be called out like that. What do you think?

Personally not a fan of on track Denny but i gotta respect the person and certainly the moral conflict with peeing yourself was pretty comedic. What was your opinion on the pit road rules? Seems like it wasn't thought out entirely and caused a lot of confusion for drivers.

Harrumph!
My cousin got a ticket for getting rear ended so Denny your analogy is terrible but I’m with you man!
"Jared don't let your facts get in the way of our story.". - Denny
The more wrecks in a race the more attendance figures increase the next race. Good job Nascar, hope you can duplicate it the next time around.
Those are some 🔥 shoes Denny
Love the podcast especially on TH-cam. I do boo the 11 car not out of animosity, but for fun. I like DH. On another note I’m not what to think about the peeing incident but I’m sure Carl Edwards ant Tyler Reddick were not real thrilled to be called out like that. What do you think?
Technically the 2 truck that won Daytona is a spire, motorsport truck/rev racing
“Get off my ass, stop tailgating” 😂😂 i brake check folks who do this. I don’t even care. If i’m driving normal and not slow best believe get off my ass or I’m brake checking you
Take Byron’s car. Hit by McDowell on pit road. Got turned and hit the inside wall at about 90 mph. Messed the entire front suspension and steering up.
Take a shot every time Denny says certainly
A new one for the shirt I kind of liked it
The reason the sport has become a young man's sport is because. You can train a young man to drive the cup cars now successfully.
Personally not a fan of on track Denny but i gotta respect the person and certainly the moral conflict with peeing yourself was pretty comedic. What was your opinion on the pit road rules? Seems like it wasn't thought out entirely and caused a lot of confusion for drivers.
