This firmware can be used for following models (All other TCL firmwares can be found in comment section):
55C1US, 65C1US,40E5900US, 50E5900US, 55E5900US, 65E5900US, 60E6000US,
55C1CUS, 65C1CUS
Follow the steps below to do factory reset after the new firmware is installed:
1. Press settings button.
2. Go to Picture.
3. Go to Contrast.
4. Press 9-7-3-5 fast.
5. The factory menu will now appear. Select “Reset Shop”, and press the right arrow on the remote.
6. The TV will now reset. Once the TV is reset, and the installation menu is displayed.

@@hhkk6155 Not the file name, you need to change the file extension as ".img". If you do it manually without using above tool, make sure to enable extension to show in windows file explorer. If not probably you will change the file name as "update.img.bin" (because you don't see the actual hidden extension). That is why i created a tool to change the extension easily.

Hello, I was doing a factory reset on my Sony XBR-65X850C and I unplugged it during the process. Now it shows only a SONY logo on startup. Unfortunately I am not able to do a hard reset either. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.
@this Indian, Goto Sony web site and download the firmware (www.sony.com/electronics/support/product/xbr-65x850c/downloads). Then rename the file as "upgrade_loader.pkg" then copy into a formatted UBS drive. Then plug the USB drive to the tv. Remove main power cable and then press and hold the TV's power button(not in the remote) for around 20 second. Then release the power button and plug the main power cable and turn on the tv. Then you can see the TV's led is flashing slowly in white colour. Then wait and see around 15-60 minutes to complete the new update process. If it is success, you will see the main setup screen. If it is not working unplug the main power and do the exact same step above and before the power on just press and hold the volume down and power switch in the tv together, while doing that turn on the main power. Then you it will do the same update and wait and see for 15-60 minutes. Good luck..!

My apologizes for disturbing you over the same question that so many have asked, but I'm trying to fix a boot loop on my TCL 40ES565 (or 40ES565X1) but all the other TCL model no's look as though they're from a different brand.. Do you have any idea about the image file for this model? It's an Android (9) TV.

Exactly I have a 40S4900 and the interface is totally different from any tcl I've seen. It's not even a Roku TV just an android tv
@yaragi, try hard reset first.
1. Turn off the main power. Press and hold the tv power button for 20S.
2. Then press and hold the volume down and power button on the tv together. While press and hold turn on the main power. See whether it is starting the androide factory reset.

I had the same issue and I fixed it. My method was different, I did not switch the main power off, I just kept pressing the on off button at the rear of the TV for about fifteen seconds and on the screen appeared the information / instructions what to do. It took me two minutes

Hello, do you have firmware for TCL LED40S6200? My TV shows a text after it shows the logo. The text is "Software file check failed Plug and unplug the power cord to try again". I tried plug and unplugging multiple times but it doesn't work, I tried installing a software update on my USB drive and it still shows the text for 2 seconds and the screen turns gray(backlight still works). Sorry, I don't have this firmware. When you tyry to install firmware via USB what happens? Is it not detecting the update file? If yes, check the USB drive format (FAT32 should be worked). And use a low capacity one (less that 8GB is good). And try with all USB ports in the tv one by one.

Usually, It is low than 30minutes. Just change your USB drive and try. Or reformat the USB drive WITHOUT SELECTING "Quick format".

Where did you get the .pkg file? From Sony official support site? What is the model number, did you check the model number correctly?

REMEMBER THAT YOU NEED TO RENAME THE .PKG FILE EXACTLY AS THIS > "upgrade_loader.pkg" TO PERFORM THE UPDATE. YOU DON'T NEED TO PRESS ANY KEYS IN THE TV.
For Sony try these>
1. Change the USB drive and try again.
2. Format the USB drive using "FAT32" format and UNCHECK the "Quick Format" option. After that copy the file and try.
3. Change the USB port you connecting the USB drive in the tv and try.

Yes, most probably the issue is in the software if stuck on Android logo screen. Try updating the firmware. No you don't want to connect the tv with wifi to install firmware via USB drive. Good luck.

Hello, i owned TCL 32s65a , yesterday i was trying to factory reset from tv menu, after erase everything option tv got off and started with black backlight and indicator led continuously blinking!! As I think that something was going wrong during the reset. The power was down during the reset process? Try this whether it works > Turn off the main power completely from wall socket. Then press and hold the TV's power button(not in the remote) for around 30seconds. Then release the power button and plug the main power and turn on the tv. Good luck..

Am having a black screen after a timeframe of 15 minutes but the audio is working properly, after restart again it reduces the timeframe with some minutes, how can I solve this, it is TCL model 43S6201 please, I have liked your troubleshooting methodology. Where can I get it's update I do it manually.
Godfrey, This is not due to firmware issue. This is most probably a backlight issue. You need to replace backlight LED strips.

@@tech-corner2556 New LED strips were installed but the issue is still there mostly when a HDMI and flash disk ports are in use. When antenna port is in use the issue was not there even before I changed the LED strips. May their be an issue with the ports ama supply of something, please I would love to hear from you. @@godfreywairimu8888 These kind of issues are bit difficult to figure out. When the issue happened (video off and sound works), can you check whether the backlight LED is still working? If yes, most probably a T-Con board issue or main board issue. If the backlight LED also turning off, keep your mobile phone's flashlight very close to the screen and see whether you can see very dark image in the screen.if you see images, the issue is most probably in the LED driver circuit in the power board. let me know..
@@tech-corner2556 The issue was on the LED on the power supply circuit, I had it given its own supply away from the main supply, like an additional power supply dedicated to the LED circuit. It now works perfectly and I have really liked your diagnosis and it have made me with my little know how on this also help the technician with a probable cause, I really appreciate the help, thanks for making time to respond to my issue. In some Tvs it is unable to remove google account. Only the option is to reset whole tv as factory reset via Settings menu.

try latest version, I found one TCL model which has some resolution problem for TH-cam app.

If you still can't run the update, unplug the main power cable and press and hold the power on key in the tv for around 20 seconds. Then plug the cable and run the update again to see whether it works. Good luck..
@@tech-corner2556 thanks for your reply, I stopped the update after 2 hours since it couldn't get through, they I tried unplug and hold power button for 30s, after that, I couldn't open tv even the TCL sign, I called the TCL customer service and they will send technicians
I'm experiencing the same issue with my 55C6US and have had no luck with any of the solutions from TCL support :(
