I've been away and just finally got to watch it. Thank you, thank you, thank you Tree for posting this video. I love it. As a patternmaker with over 20 yrs experience, I have never seen this method. Can't wait to put it into practice. Thank you, once again
I know.....That's what Claudette and I were saying too!! And she is a Women's tailor and been teaching and doing pattern cutting for donkeys years!!! Tree Xx
Absolutely but then he is the master! But I have since replicated this technique many times now and made The Tate Modern Dress seen in our latest video of what I've been sewing. Tree X
I discovered Shingo Sato through your channel and I can't tell you how much I admire his inovative work. He is a magician of cutting. Thank you so very much!
How amazing to be able to learn from such an expert. Thanks so much for sharing. It's very informative even if I'm nowhere near that level of dressmaking.
I know....I paid lots of money but we still felt lucky to have him to our self and learn so much! Do look him up, his work is fantastic! Thankyou. Tree x
Oh boy, brilliant...who can say they have a custom fitted jacket from the master himself😮....if only i had 1 cm knowledge of your endless metres of knowlegde😌
I know.....I loved it too!!! What a genius, eh!! Just using for simple sleeves makes it so...easy!! Look up his other videos too, you'll be impressed. Thankyou, Tree x
That's ok.....I have to share these brilliant things when I do them!!! Look at the for Fashion Students and Sewing Enthusiasts playlist for more of similar. Tree X
hello, love your videos so informative and interesting to watch! i have a question about the sleeve block. the line he draw horizontally from the grainline is there a proper measurement he used to draw that in or can it be placed anywhere?
@@StitchlessTV thank you so much! in terms of the width of the block was that your bicep measurement length plus a cm or two for ease or by eye as well? Last question, why did he not use the center of the block to draw in the grain line? so full of questions, really love his draping approach. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, can't wait to see what else you post! :)
Well.....The thing is for a simple sleeve you don't really. You can make the tube according to upper arm measurements, trace out under arm curve on dress or jacket and then drape on a stand.....Try it. I think it could be good for adding sleeves to sleeveless dress patterns. Tree x

He seemed to place it by eye. Thankyou

@@StitchlessTV thank you :)
I love Shingo Sato! It's unfortunate that this takes two person, the model and one to drape, unless you have a body double dressform with arms.

How did he decide the finished bicep width? Is it the bicep width plus two inches?
Sorry for the delay....Yes, that's correct. Tree x
