Morning Barbara. What a super tag, it is so scrummy. Fits perfectly into your journal. Well done my crafty friend, and THANK you for sharing and giving us much needed inspiration (I seem to have lost some of my Mojo!!! 🤫🤔 Am going to go into my art room now, and try something creative. Blessings and hugs as always from Cape Town. Diana 😀🤗🦊🦊
I love rocks!! Stones, sticks, seeds, shells and driftwood. Sometimes, it's almost like there are more of them indoors at my place, than there are outdoors! 😂
So much inspiration in unexpected places(rocks!?) Love the stitching you added to enhance the cracks, & that you found the perfect place for it in your journal!! 🧡🤗
Another yummy snack. I’m quietly amused that when you are trying to decide on something… like the black or white numbers, you choose the one I would choose! Thank you for sharing!❤️
You are so right when you say we shouldn’t be afraid of ruining a piece & should just go for it. Two pieces of advice from different crafters that have always stuck with me are “why not? it’s only paper” & “if you don’t like it, it’s just not finished yet”. I try to keep them in mind when I want to be brave & try something a bit scary art wise. I really didn’t think the orange would work but once you added the water, it just made itself at home & the tag looks great! Would have been cool to change the colour of the white slightly to match the tag & use those numbers as a shadow under the black ones.
Lol gotta love the internet, especially for those of us who can't get out much. Lol yes I can't do with the chaos of all directions🙈. Very cool 😎I love the crackles and stitching 😍. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
Love this beautiful tag. Lots of texture for the eye to enjoy. You are right nature can be very inspiring .LorriMarie Jenkins is a artist from California moved to Costa Rica last year. But she just made a video using the inside of toilet paper rolls made a gorgeous journal and collected all kinds of nature stuff on her daily walks. She even used rusty pieces of metal , butterflies wings, leaves, twigs, dried flowers and more. Was beautiful. She has been featured in art magazine.
Oh When you were going to use the orange…I thought waaaaah what is she doing😂😂😱😱but it always turns out perfect at the end, so creative! Have a nice crafty inspiring week😘
I love this tag! When you added water to the black pencil, I said, out loud, No! But it turned out beautifully! So you are right when you said to take chances! Look forward to more Snacks! Hugs from Ireland.
I love this, its great to see someone working from something natural and using this to create an interesting background, so different from the usual stamps and stencils that you see in lots of journals. You have inspired me to spend more time on my backgrounds and keep going until I get something I like. I would never have been brave enough to use the orange but it works so well. Thank you
I moved home to Ireland from Canada and just miss having Michael's around the corner, but thank God for the internet to order, my Tim Holtz products arrived last week! You are so talented Barbara, such talent and so smart! I adore your collages
So many techniques on one piece! I need to remember things like texture, I tend to think in terms of a flat surface like drawing or watercolor painting. Gotta think more 3-D!
Hi Barbara , I forgot how fun the wax pastels are to play with. Loving what you did here! Thanks for the inspiration to get mine out after ignoring them for such a long time. 😀
You said something that made me think of something that Pam at The Paper Outpost said, "Stop backing away from things you're afraid of." This is beautiful, baby girl, and very inspiring, inviting us to be daring with things like that gorgeous orange ink. Your tag turned out great! Love you, angel, MomK ❤️🤗🌵🤗❤️
Great suggestion, esp for people without a lot of money for art supplies, or who don't have easy access to supply shops! Could glue those down at an earlier point, and no one would know they were egg shells after you'd added all the painty layers on top.
I love when you add these crazy pops of color and you say something along the lines of…. “I know this color doesn’t really seem to go with my theme, but”…. And before you know it, you can’t see this tag looking great any other way. Lol. And of course Nature would inspire you. So many beautiful things in Nature. I really enjoyed watching this snack, this morning. Great way to start my day. Thank you so much for more inspiration. ♥️♥️♥️
I’m loving your videos and learning so much. I’m getting back into my crafting. I have a problem getting rid of pieces of paper 😂..this is what I need! Thank you for opening up my crafting skills ❤
Ive gotten some of my most interesting tags by not being afraid and just go for it. Ha, and some of my worst. Funny thing is the weird ones end up finding a place sometimes when you least expect it.
I love the way your tag came out! There are so many wonderful patterns and textures in nature. This is a fun way to create. Thank you for sharing it with us!
When you mentioned Honey , since I'm not on Instagram, I thought How is she doing? 😀 please say hi ! Loved most the size of that tag and your comment about if not trying it you won't know. Thanks Barbara for being your inspiring self 💗
Thanks for showing me that inspiration comes from many places. You just have to be open minded and see what the normal eye passes by. Always love your art. ❤
Désolée Je ne parle pas ni anglais ni autrichien mais je vous laisse un message en français. 😁 Votre travail est une réelle source d'inspiration. Merci beaucoup pour vos conseils. Je suis fan !!! A très bientôt from Lyon, France
I love nature inspired art myself and use trees a lot for patterns. I really enjoy seeing you experiment with color and design so thank you for taking us along 💕
Hello, I'm quite new to your channel and wonder if you will be doing any step by step page decorating tuitorials because I love the look of this beautiful journal and would love to know how to create similar myself. I have made 4 art journals since xmas and now need to fill those pages. Thank you.🤗👩🎨👍
I had an art date with someone recently, and brought Jenga blocks to paint (to turn into ornaments / altered blocks). Sat down, set up, laid out my blocks and my paints on a pad, poured some paint onto a palette ... and started painting the blocks with my finger! Friend just stared at me. I was like, "What? It doesn't really feel like an art date until I have paint on my hands. And besides, I have more control this way!" 😄😄😄
How many pages are in the signatures of the journal you're working in now? How many signatures are there? About wide is the spine? Thanks for the information and all the inspiration.
I would like to share a tip with you Barbara (and the rest of your JJ community). SODA-BI-CARB (or Baking Soda) is wonderful for removing distress oxide and even ink stains. With water and a bit of rubbing. I have found the stubborn colours like Villainous Potion need a bit more effort. You’ve mentioned your dislike a few times and I want to ring you up and tell you my trick lol. Hope this helps. Sending love from Australia.
I have to admit I was biting my nails to part of this process.. Especially when you added that right orange at the end. I thought I might have a heart attack. But it turned out very nice. I can't afford some of them expensive washables stick. What do you think about washable crayons or doing this as they are very inexpensive?
Thanks!
This looks amazing. I think the contrast of the modern numbers against the natural background is stunning. Thank you.
So cool. I always freeze when making decisions. Why? It’s only scraps of old paper ! 😂

Thank you Diana and I hope you find your mojo! ❤️
I agree nature is the best pallet for inspiration xxx😘😘
I love rocks!! Stones, sticks, seeds, shells and driftwood. Sometimes, it's almost like there are more of them indoors at my place, than there are outdoors! 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you Barbara! Thoroughly enjoyed this ☆snack☆! I needed a little something to give me some inspiration and this did it! Yum 🥭Yum 🍓and hugs!

Hello Barbara, love your pretty & grungy tag, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful! So right about looking to nature for inspiration! TFS the inspiration, Barbara!
Gorgeous 😍. Nature is incredibly inspiring and is my happy place ❤️
A wonderful piece of art! 🥰
So many techniques on one piece! I need to remember things like texture, I tend to think in terms of a flat surface like drawing or watercolor painting. Gotta think more 3-D!
perfect. I love how the orange meshed with the crackle.

Thank you 🤩🤩🤩
I never thought about looking to photos as inspiration!!! What a clever idea! TFS Austin, TX USA
Really love the tag. It is dramatic and striking. Thanks for all of the snacks!
You are a rock star! I love this and the way you just googled for inspiration.
I love to see the process of how you took the inspiration photo through to the end
Beautiful! I never thought about rocks as inspiration. You're inspiring me to look deeper into the outdoors!
I was yelling to you “add black to the crackle paste!” And you heard me! Haha your tag is perfect in that spot. Beautiful as always!
Your tag turned out amazing! Great inspiration from rocks! I’m also inspired by tree bark. 😊
Egg shells give a broken stone appearance. I've made jewelry with them.
Great suggestion, esp for people without a lot of money for art supplies, or who don't have easy access to supply shops! Could glue those down at an earlier point, and no one would know they were egg shells after you'd added all the painty layers on top.

Barbara: nice job of your interpretation of rocks/stones. It certainly gave me several ideas of my own. Thanks Carol from California

Do you have a tutorial for that wonderful scrapbook cover? I would love to watch it.
If you mean Hanni’s journal cover, it was gifted to me, so no, sorry.
❄️🇨🇦❄️❤️
How many pages are in the signatures of the journal you're working in now? How many signatures are there? About wide is the spine? Thanks for the information and all the inspiration.
3 signatures with 10 pages each. The spine is 6 cm.
@@49dragonflies Thanks for the help. I'm trying to figure out how to construct a journal for a technique journal.

I may have missed it? How did you attach the letters. Foam tape as well?
I used craft glue.

I would say, try them out! 😃❤️
I sent you 3 emails and didn't get a answer.I bought a item on your site but the link is not working,
