there is a nice way to exploit the putrid imp ability against relic and spellbomb strategies: you have to make sure that there is a threat in the graveyard and at least one threat in your hand at the same time. then simply force a reanimation spell onto the board. opponent will crack relic - with imp out, you can discard the second surprise threat with imp instant speed after the gy-hate trigger resolves and before exhume or dread return resolves on stack - there was a opportunity to go that route around the 23:00 minute mark in this video.
11:54 it worked out because you topdecked a putrid imp, but you shouldn't play the lotus petal here. it's better to hold it in hand so that you have the option of discarding your fatty to hand size if you kept missing on a discard outlet. they're never going to counter a lotus petal so there's no point deploying it early
I like the win fast idea better, but yeah the hexproof cycler can be good and maybe should be here. A 5/5 ain't what it used to be to be honest. I would like some TMA/DA
It’s not really „win more“ it’s more of a one Trick Pony combo. Win more would be, if it’s already ahead. But this list is only ahead at the point it’s winning.
Love Reanimator, long time enjoyer in Pauper, took Turbo Rakdos Reanimator to a 1st place in a Pauper tournament near Seattle. Been thinking about and brewing in this space for some time now and BOY would I love to hear your thoughts on this. Last time I approached Reanimator in Pauper I was keen on Esper, because we didn't yet have Dread Return - now that we do, it seems Dimir, Rakdos and perhaps Jund are the options available. There's a couple cards that absent from the list I'm curious about - Otherworld Gaze (can be discarded profitably, EoT1 play that sees a lot of cards and fills the yard nicely for Gurmag Angler) - The Modern Age (two loots on a great body that eats edicts) - Striped Riverwinder (puts itself in the yard for a card and just 1 mana for that sweet T1 setup for a T2 Exhume, Hexproof) - Dragon Wings (I like the inclusion of Dragon Shadow here as well, and the one advantage of Dragon Wings is that it puts itself in the yard while replacing itself. As I type this out, Dragon Shadow feels more and more the better choice 🤔 nice!) - Merfolk Pupil (loots, can be discarded to loot from the yard, while providing additional fodder for Dread Return Flashback) Love that you're playing this!
Striped Riverwinder is also really nice because it increases the likelihood that Exhume is successful in the face of graveyard hate. With Troll + Riverwinder, we cast Exhume, they pop their graveyard hate, after that resolves but with Exhume still on the stack we cycle our Troll or Riverwinder to put it into play.
@@kalikaiz I think slapping Shadow or Wings on it solves a lot of that problem, cause then it's really quite similar to Troll, just 1 power less, but for that premium 1 mana cycler and untargetable
I build a similar one myself, still playing around for the best set. I’m trying to put few “rite of consumption” do deal 10 unexpected damage , also “not dead after all “ can bring back that creature. Also otherworldly gaze is so helpful in this deck imo 👌
@@kalikaizah yeah that engine is insane. I just realized though that you can run this whole list in red black and just run foil discarding snow duals while getting to run Olliphaunt. Splashing foil is so spicy lol.

there are a LOT of win more cards in this deck. I'd add the hexproof blue creatures that cycles for U and I'd play 4 duress in the main.
