The vocal coach role is to dissect the song and how it should be done. The personal opinion should be set aside. What you watch is dimash, he makes his own music. He just used the original as an inspiration. Even in his own song he never sung it the same twice. He put variations. You will see that as you react along the way. I watched the famous 1985 Live Aide performance live in Philadelphia & they showed Queen performing in England so I Luv Freddie..... but even Freddie can't touch Dimash & this guy did a good review & was very complimentary to Dimash like Dimash, Freddie Mercury had a wild range & insane power..... personally what I find also similar about Dimash & Freddie is that both men have huge beautifully formed Square Jaw lines....... so when they do they drop Jaw motion, flatten the tongue & lift the palette the amount of Resonance they generate in that Cavernous Jaw is absolutely Insane! Dimash is a writer, producer, and arranger. I've observed that he comes at his arrangements from the operatic viewpoint. The story is always the foundation of the musical arrangement. As an A&R, I have watched us fall further away from that foundation, especially in the pop and rock genre. If you have a great story, you can build one hell of a theme around it. Dimash took this on because he saw the great story it told. Folks admire his vocal ability, but he is much more than a singer. I could only imagine representing such a great talent.

Not many people would take on a song from Queen and sing it live. Dimash does not just copy a song and sing it, but refigures it and gives it a new life, with respect to the original artist. And after 22 years of classical voice training you are bound to hear theatrics and drama, which is what makes him highly unique and brilliant at what he does.
Why comparison? Fred Mercury was wonderful and Dimash is unique. He's not a copycat. He always leaves his mark on everything he interprets with perfect arrangements.

But then Dimash started to grow, grow and all his performances at Voice in China made me personally to follow him every day that time and I really now got sick of listening to him, especially when he sings in native mother Kazakh language. This is a cover so they did a phenomenal job on it, but you need to hear Dimash's original music to appreciate their true art. Here is the translation for you. The gentleman says "He sure has grown up. He lures the audience." The woman competitor says "Of course, he is really handsome." Dimash had a lot to say with the arrangements of the songs he did on the show. Probably not as much as he would like to have had, but he did have a great deal of input. He was also met with some resistance to what he wanted to do, but it worked out for the most part.

Initially I thought it will be normal to listen to him being as normal Kazakh person. But then Dimash started to grow, grow and all his performances at Voice in China made me personally to follow him every day that time and I really now got sick of listening to him, especially when he sings in native mother Kazakh language. You become so happy and proud that there is a person who really attracts all people around the world by his powerful voice. My journey to Dimash world started from listening to his all performances and ended up now watching and seeking for vocal coach reactions to Dimash all over the world!!! This is a cover so they did a phenomenal job on it, but you need to hear Dimash's original music to appreciate their true art. Good Reaction. I am late to comment, so someone may have told you. Dimash knew almost no English at this time. He had one week to learn the song, and it was taught to him phonetically. He always arranges his music to showcase his abilities - but in a respectful way. He feels the emotion of the music and applies his own take to everything he does.

Dimash had a lot to say with the arrangements of the songs he did on the show. Probably not as much as he would like to have had, but he did have a great deal of input.
