Hi Doc. Our doggie is 14 - male minpin. He has lost a lot of weight, skin & bone now, eats two meals a day and drinks a lot of water. A few days ago, I noticed the green discharge from both his nostrils. He has been sneezing. I am using your mix and hope to help rid him of this infection. Thank you for covering all conditions and concerns. ❤

I do not know if you can help with my little 13 year old Doxie's issue, but since last summer after having 4 of her front teeth extracted she has had chronic nasal congestion. She was on antibiotics but it would keep recurring. After much trial and error I started giving her nasal flushes daily with Himalayan salt and baking soda in distilled water. This has helped tremendously. The amount of mucous that comes out of this little dog is unbelievable. I am also giving her liquid vitamin C and also the chinese herb tea pills for sinuses. My question is, is there anything else I can do for her? Is it harmful to give her nasal flushes a couple of times a day? Will this ever clear up or is it something we will need to treat indefinitely? We have no holistic Vet in our area to take our dogs to. All Vet Clinics in our rural area want to continuously put her on antibiotics and other antihistamines which made her feel terrible. Thank you

I'm really concerned as I dont want to use the vet remedy. Please advise as to what next can I do. Thank you. My Dogs is like 8 Years old and his nost is very dry and crusty all over. This Salution good for that by any chance? I have been to a vet before about it.. But he said it would be crust and dry all his life..so i wonder if this Resolves the crust/dryness. May try it.
Hey quick question, would this work on my dog who bleeds from her left nostril only? I can’t afford a CT scan but am trying to see what I can do to help her out
Thank you for this video. My rat terrier has this ongoing over 18 months with multiple rounds of antibiotics. I think he has a fungal infection. I pull out this rubber cement type of snot in strands that seem like they are a foot long and he hates it when I do it. We've spent a ton and I feel our vet is giving up on him.
Ryan hows your dog doing? My dog has the identical thing you have described and my vet has also given up. Any suggestions as to anything that has worked? I am desperate for any suggestions as its hard to see our best friends literally choke on this mucous, so if you know of anything that has helped please ley me know
My dog too. We’ve spent thousands of dollars on investigating what is messing up his breathing. The vet has pulled out a huge snot ball that my dog needed to be sedated for. If anyone finds any solutions, please share!
@@savingmcinnis Hi Amber is the mucous thick green or clear ? My dog is literally oozing so much thick mucous..i give her amoxicillin for a few days and it then thins out the mucous and turns it clear. @@pamjacobs1348 hi Pam, I haven't found anything that works but from the sounds of it, there is a foreign body in the nostril when its just one nostril involved. It could even be a growth such as a polyp. The only way to truly diagnose this is by getting your dog scoped. I can't afford it so I haven't been able to go that route. Is your dog's nasal discharge coming from only one nostril Pam?
Hi very recently I've noticed my dog has dry debri on the corner of his left nose. Both nostrils are clear from the inside however. But I don't want it to spread. Would this solution work? Would using just coconut and honey also be helpful? Please My advice would help.
Im surprised you mention to add lavender oil to concoctions Iam told lavender essential oils and plants are very toxic to furbaby and to stay away from it completely. Because it cause severe gastrointestinal problems and well as severe allergies reactions in dog causing runny nose etc Is it necessary to add that in this in order for it to work
Hi, can I ask if this worked? Did you do a follow up video for this as I can’t seem to find one? I have a German shepherd with a similar looking nose problem and wanted to try this but obviously it would help,if I knew it was successful for you. Thanks.
Hi Dr Jones. Hope Lulu is gettin better. I had a question for you. My dog also has this nasty nose infection been using this recipe for it. However, she also has allergies that causes her to itch terribly. I wanted to use stinging nettle for her. I did find that it is high in iron and someone said that if they have a bacterial infection then you shouldn't give nettle because of the high iron in it. They say it will feed the bacteria. Is this true? Do you believe that nettle will promote bacterial growth? Thank you so much for your advice and your videos. I think you are great!!! God bless you.
MY DOG WILL NOT LET ME TOUCH HER NOSE . IS THERE SOMETHING THAT HE CAN INJEST THAT WILL WORK. HE POBABLY HAS THE SAME PROBLEM MAYBE A TWIG OR SOMETHING JABBED HIM AND NOW ITS INFECTED.

Do you think these things will aid him while we wait is like a 3-5 week wait or is it too advance to help him? Hes been having this issue for about 6 months vets hadnt find the issue shelter dog
Thank you so much. Until i had puppies, now doggies, i didnt realise how many things they get. Just like kids 😅. I live on a desert farm in Egypt so icant get hold of all the ingredients. However i understand whatever i use it needs to be anti-microbial/fungal. I got some great honey and some rosemary oil. I will try that. 😊
All 3 of my labs contracted nasal dermatitis and so distressed. Reg vet wants antibiotics, steroids. Started using your remedy but Wow these pups noses are raw. Waiting for a biopsy to determine what next. Highly contagious... As all 3 of mine got it.
I have been dealing with something with my dog for six months not sure if it’s similar to you but I feel like the vet is just throwing solutions towards him without really having any idea what’s going on or what he is trying to treat it started out with just a runny nose not bad but more than normal figured it was heavy allergy time but then it turned into a bloody nose on one side, so figured the sinus infection was pretty bad or maybe he caught himself by digging at it with his nail so he was treated with an antibiotic and it seem to somewhat help but as soon as it was done he went back and worse and then the bloody nose is were huge especially when he would wake up it would be everywhere so that they tried a stronger antibiotic and a steroid for a long time at first he started looking better happier and the bloody nose had stopped we thought we finally got it no medicine is done he literally leaves frisbee size puddles wherever his face lays why he sleeps and his nose is very raw and I apologize for the long message but I’m desperate to help this dog as my kids will be destroyed if something happens to him So my question is have you come up with any solution to your dogs problems that is actually resolving the issue or seems promising does this guy is natural remedy seem to help as I can’t even touch my dog knows he’s in so much pain and it’s like most on this thread I don’t believe the vet has feelings it’s just a job to him
@@Dmkpit401 Sorry to read about your pup. As a matter of fact, my situation started with one dog and then moved to all three labs. Red blisters that worsened in the sun. One had a biopsy and showed nothing. All 3 have had fungal testing many times. I am being told one tested positive for ring worm. I don't buy it, as they have no skin issues. The vet said it was presenting like nothing he had ever seen. They have all three been put on oral anti fungal with no improvement. One pup on a 3 wk antibiotic. So, I decided to use a remedy recommended here on them and finally am seeing black noses again. It was boiled black peko tea, lavender oil drop, ACV and coconut oil. I did drop a couple a tiny amount of with Hazel. I really like this vet here and think he is very knowledgeable. This remedy cleared my pups hot spots awhile back. I also added a capful of ACV to their water daily. I did buy a Rx fungal shampoo and bought a bottle that attached to a garden hose to apply it. Keep me posted. Would love to show ya the nose photos. Stay positive and strong. Hugs to your pup and family.
Doc, my 4 year old poodle keeps changing her position when sleeping because of frequent sneezing and nose congestion. She can't sleep peacefully that's why I think she had a red eye. I noticed that her upper nose is dry. Sometimes her feet chills. She only eats small amount of food. I am worried because it is almost 4 days. The vet told me yesterday her platelets count is low. She takes polynerve and lc-vit. Doxycycline is out of stock in drugstores. Is there any alternative or natural remedy for my dog's case?
Eastern SUN my dog the same I shall try to get what you say and see if it helps I’ve been putting my dog in bathroom with hot shower going steam helps they say I’m getting humidifier see if that helps and saline solution for in her nose what have you tried?
My puppy’s nose peeled the other day he’s been recovering from kennel cough so it’s been a snot fest. Nose is still black but a crust layer of black peeled without hurting him...is this normal?
My dog has had diarrhoea for about 4-5 days now and it’s gotten to the point where there’s is a kind of foam mixed in with a bit of blood, so would I need to take her to the vet or is there anything I could do at home to help?
Hi! Just wondering if this is suitable for an infection that could be deeper in the nose? Or is sinus rinsing with something like lavender oil an option? My vets think it could be something lodged inside or a fungal infection as antibiotics help but then the issues come right back…but I can’t afford a cat scan or the possible surgeries that follow so I’m desperate to find a solution. My border collie is making loud snoring noises constantly and has really bad nose bleeds lately.
@@krystimaxwell2931are they ok now? it turned out to be a tumour in his nose they think😢 hence why nothing seemed to be working. Lost him like 6 months ago.
my7 lb maltese also started developing problems in June or July of 2023. Symptoms were cough and sneezing. X ray ruled out any lung issues. Started with treating for possible sinus infection. The antibiotics helped clear it up temporarily but then the issue came right back. We did several rounds of antibiotics then decided to remove bad teeth incase that was causing issues and the problem continued.Just took her to the vet this week for continued problems. An X ray of sinuses showed there was something in the right sinus cavity. They did not know what the something is, whether it is infection or polyps. My dog is sneezing green so I am assuming it is infection showing on the x ray. He told me there is nothing else he can do for my dog and the only option is to see an internal medicine specialist. He said I would probably spend upwards of 5000 dollars and my dog would probably still have issues because the percentage of success with clearing this type issue is very low. I am thinking I will try the saline and sterile water saline nasal flushes. I also seen a video about saline nebulizer treatments. The saline used was like infant dose because she was treating puppies. She also mixed the saline with a med that had antibiotic properties. I would rather speak to a veterinarian about adding the medication because I would not want to give too much saline or antibiotic
Any suggestions for a dripping nostril (one side)..possibly more labored breathing (hard to tell at times due to warm weather, but my guess is it is more labored than should be)...hoping for allergies and probably should try for that first....BUT there is a growth or something in the other nostril (been there a while, but was seen at a vet for ear infect I couldn't get under control and I asked, vet said he's not concerned about it and he didnt see anything in his nose (he didn't look) and said I should not cut my dogs leg off because he might have bone cancer..I should do x-rays he said..true story, somehow it became amputating my dogs leg for no good reason..I won't see him again....Anyway I thought infection at first.no way would dog let me touch nose with Qtip..using coconut oil, lavender oil, and green tea (I think was tea, whatever that recipe was )..so I watched it, no change, now seems bigger and saw some redness today..he's old (14) and has hard time getting around,,eats/drinks good, not lathargic other than not wanting to walk far and legs give out..sure there's some pain but seems ok otherwise.....This nostril is the one he would bury in the dirt or whatever he was sleeping in/on...I would have to clean it..he never did like it touched..
My pup of 9years has been going through the exact same things you just described your baby has went through. What breed is your pup if you don't mind me asking?
Hope it works! Do you mind my asking what diet Tula is on? I have a pup and I’m having a hard time pinning down if he has any food allergies since he’s always itchy
Doc my dogs nose gets stuffy at night, she’s sleeping more and not eating as much as before but still eating, still active and playing around but seems more tired than usual. She sleeps in our bedroom at night and it’s winter, I see her making noises trying to breathe through her nose…could this be a cold or something more serious?
@@jordinc5706 hey yeah! It ended up being nasal congestion or at-least that’s the conclusion I came up to. I think the winter and dry air around the house seemed to have contributed to it. We bought a humidifier and placed it in our bedroom which is where I find she experiences her symptoms and it resolved within a week. She was completely fine. Maybe try out a small humidifier where your dog sleeps. It significantly improved my dogs congestion.

What is the name of this medicated soap that you were using to clean Tula's nose? And where could I get it from here in Canada, please?
no need ..i do with my girl and she is recovering in 2 days slowly
Thank you soooo much for this, I freaked out when I saw my most current rescue dog had this 😰. Officially subd, thanks
Was your dogs breathing forced? My dog has congestion and yellow mucous just rescued him
@drjones my dog has what seems to be a nose infection...yellow puss comes out one of his nose. I tried your remedy but it hasn't work as he still has the infection. I'm really concerned as I dont want to use the vet remedy. Please advise as to what next can I do. Should I take him to the vet and use what they prescribed... it's over a month now since this is happening. Thanks for your response and help 🙂

@Dr. Jones, I need your expert opinion. My dog just came from the vet a couple of hours ago... he had his annual exam, as well as he has a yellow mucus coming from his nose. The vet prescribed Clavaseptin 62.5 mg and Benadryl 25 mg. I was very hesitant to put him on antibiotics, but he has the mucus coming from his nostril (yellow in color) over 3 months, and nothing I tried including changing his diet seems to clear it up. The vet ordered a blood test which was very expensive. What do you think about these meds? And do you think the blood work will help to show what's happening with my dog?
The vet also said he has cataracts, so I will try one of the remedies you mentioned in this video. Thank you for all you do to support pet owners ❤️
What is best medicines (tablets)for rhinitis in dogs
I can’t afford a CT scan but am trying to see what I can do to help her out
Doc, can I use this even if wound is open?
What is your recommendation in dog nasal polyps.
Thank you.

How rough??? I dont wanna hurt
Dr. Andrew would you kindly do a video on vestibular disease. My dog have it now it’s very hard to watch and take care of him
Yes-main thing is supportive care and time as it generally will pass
After a couple days it comes back thick and green and i repeat the cycle. I have spent thousands of dollars and my dog's time is running out before the inevitable happens. I am desperate for any solutions
@@cesarbagel3803 this is the same thing my dog has going on. Please let me know if you found anything that would help!
Great video thank you!
Hi very recently I've noticed my dog has dry debri on the corner of his left nose. Both nostrils are clear from the inside however. But I don't want it to spread. Would this solution work? Would using just coconut and honey also be helpful? Please My advice would help.
Hi, would not al honey from the supermarket be okay to use?
Thankyou

How about for a puppy that got scratched by the family cat?
Im surprised you mention to add lavender oil to concoctions
Iam told lavender essential oils and plants are very toxic to furbaby and to stay away from it completely. Because it cause severe gastrointestinal problems and well as severe allergies reactions in dog causing runny nose etc
Is it necessary to add that in this in order for it to work
Interesting!
@@VeterinarySecrets Heard that as well. Not true, then?
Hi, can I ask if this worked? Did you do a follow up video for this as I can’t seem to find one? I have a German shepherd with a similar looking nose problem and wanted to try this but obviously it would help,if I knew it was successful for you. Thanks.
Find out anything?
Hi Dr Jones. Hope Lulu is gettin better. I had a question for you. My dog also has this nasty nose infection been using this recipe for it. However, she also has allergies that causes her to itch terribly. I wanted to use stinging nettle for her. I did find that it is high in iron and someone said that if they have a bacterial infection then you shouldn't give nettle because of the high iron in it. They say it will feed the bacteria. Is this true? Do you believe that nettle will promote bacterial growth? Thank you so much for your advice and your videos. I think you are great!!! God bless you.
Hi - the nettle is very safe and worth trying
MY DOG WILL NOT LET ME TOUCH HER NOSE . IS THERE SOMETHING THAT HE CAN INJEST THAT WILL WORK. HE POBABLY HAS THE SAME PROBLEM MAYBE A TWIG OR SOMETHING JABBED HIM AND NOW ITS INFECTED.
Doc may i ask question ? my dog have nasal mite and my question it is okay if dog lick lavender essenial oil? because i saw your dog tula licking his nose after your put remedy
thanks for another educational video.
Great video Dr.
Is the remedy safe for 2 months old puppy?
Thanks for the tips what do you think of Oregano oil my Dog is been having a bad fungal infection and the vet said it was damage some internal cataracts so I need to do a very expensive fungal treatment but in the meantime I been given him a little bit of internal oregano oil.
Do you think these things will aid him while we wait is like a 3-5 week wait or is it too advance to help him?
Hes been having this issue for about 6 months vets hadnt find the issue shelter dog
Can i bath my dog in this situation
Thank you so much. Until i had puppies, now doggies, i didnt realise how many things they get. Just like kids 😅. I live on a desert farm in Egypt so icant get hold of all the ingredients. However i understand whatever i use it needs to be anti-microbial/fungal. I got some great honey and some rosemary oil. I will try that. 😊
how can l thank you again....my 3 dogs will benefit
I'm glad to hear that:)

My dog has had diarrhoea for about 4-5 days now and it’s gotten to the point where there’s is a kind of foam mixed in with a bit of blood, so would I need to take her to the vet or is there anything I could do at home to help?

Thank you. Love your videos and books and supplements. 👍🏻❤️
Did you find out????
No sorry…no reply
This is happening with my dog😭
I would rather speak to a veterinarian about adding the medication because I would not want to give too much saline or antibiotic

hi doc, my dog sneeze blood twice-thrice a day only on 1 side of the nose. Is this a sign of infection?
Hi, how is your dog now?
Why the lavender oil?

Doc my dogs nose gets stuffy at night, she’s sleeping more and not eating as much as before but still eating, still active and playing around but seems more tired than usual. She sleeps in our bedroom at night and it’s winter, I see her making noises trying to breathe through her nose…could this be a cold or something more serious?
Pls tell me you found something out because I’m literally going through this exact situation with my dog
Very informative video. Great job explaining the ingredients and steps. Thank you very much!
Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful.

Hi Dr.Jones, I have a question. I have a strong suspicion my dog has Nasal Polyps. I wanted to know is there a treatment other than surgical removal? I was reading it can sometimes be treated with Piroxicam? He has been showing symptoms of Nasal discharge, and chucks of red gunk at least once a week. Are they painful? Anyway would love to hear your take. Thanks!
