- The Washington DC area is a fascinating area to railfan with two commuter railroads (MARC and VRE) , Amtrak, CSX, and the WMATA Metro. This video looks at trains just outside of Union Station on the primary throat tracks headed north as the beginning of the Northeast Corridor. If it's passenger rail in DC, it's in this video.

8:03 "Make sure you get my good side!" 🤣
I hope I did!
That’s funny
I read that comment in Randi Miller's voice! 🤣🤣🤣
EDIT: I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS THE TRAIN OPERATOR WHO SAID THAT! LOL 🤣🤣🤣
Ahh. Washington D.C. Our nation’s capital and my favorite passenger train alley. Metro, VRE, MARC, and Amtrak.
Nice, Great train watching spot.
Wow, great video!!!
They really have built the area north of Union Station up with apartments and condos. I don't think half of those new buildings were present on my last visit about a decade ago.
Thank you Roaming Railfan. I resided in Washington, D.C. before much of the current rail service was constructed in the late 60s and 70s. It has expanded tremendously.
Love the DC Metro one, too! ❤️🧡💙💚💛🩶
No. 20, the northbound "Crescent" must have been significantly late that day, it departed after the equipment for the outbound "Cap" backed into the station, and that used to happen within an hour of it's 4:05 pm departure time. No. 20 is due out of DC north at 2:12 pm, which is a lot later than it was 25 or so years ago, when it was a morning train into DC (it also used to regularly be an 18 car train, back in the Heritage Fleet days).
It was an hour late that day
@@RoamingRailfan Thank you.
Washington Terminal Co. tracks and yard.
Hope u got his good side lol 😂
Watched this as I left Lorton VA Sunday.
Great video! I have not seen a video from you that is not a high quality video! It’s amazing that a major railroad hasn’t hired you yet! They don’t know what they are missing!
Great footage -- thanks for sharing this -- lots of RR action to be captured in DC!
Nice. Any freight on those lines?
Not here, they take a route around the outskirts of DC
