Thank you so much ! My dad used to do this for me, now he’s gone, I got to do this myself for the first time today, I did it, thanks to your video.

This was a great tutorial! Perfectly timed so I was able to follow along with you as you did it. Both of my fobs are reading as low battery so this was super helpful!

*Edit* I guess I need to change my statement to some 2019 and newer models have the reprrogramming issue as there is plenty of anecdotal evidence of people making it happen.
This is useless without being able to reprogram the remote. Yes changing the battery has to happen, but the remote has to be reprogrammed to the car after changing the battery. While the earlier generation of Insights could self re-program the remote by turning the ignition on and off and using the lock button on the remote, the 2019 and newer models cannot do that. You will need to take the remote (and car) to a locksmith with the right programming tool or a Honda dealership after changing the battery. I'd suggest dealship if possible because the locksmith is going to charge at least $30. The dealership might do it for free.

I just tried it on my 2019 Insight and it worked fine. After changing the battery on the remote, everything seems fine.

I did both of mine one worked one didn't I played around with it finally I started the car with the one that worked and pushed the buttons on the one that didn't while the car was running and after that both worked??? With the one that didn't work, when I tried to open the door the remote would blink red but the door wouldn't open so it was communicating.

@@jaydwolf I'll give that a try next time. The dealership ended up reprogramming it for free during the last service trip. Across all the Honda forums I see plenty of other people that did not have my problem, and some that did. Might be a batch of remotes that don't quite work like others rather than the model/year of car. Who knows?

@@dtomenchok Yeah... I see many folks saying they didn't have the issue I did, and only like 10-15% percent that did. It wasn't supposed to need to be reprogrammed according to my dealership, but they reprogrammed it and it works fine now. They could not account for it either.

That is not true. I have 2019 and I have changed the battery a couple of times without a problem. It does NOT have to be reprogrammed.
