Dennis Great video.... I'm working on a Eagle Claw 4000 can't figure out how to get the spool off...any info on these... don't think you have one in your library

If it is a spinning reel, chances are that the drag washers have frozen to the axle shaft. With the adjuster button removed, spray the top of the drag stack with penetrating oil and let it sit. After an hour or so, try working the spool up. If that does not work, try removing the retaining clip and then the drag washers with the spool still on the reel - Dennis

If ally serviced my LL and only did partial for fear of so many parts and it binds I think my LL trip is up because it would pop the side plate on each shaft rotation. No issues previously just had a little salt so wanted to inspect and light cleaning.

Hard t0o say what is causing that, but you may be right in the trip not being set properly on reinstallation

Hi Dennis. What is it about the oscillation gear/block that affects the cranking? I'm only asking because I had a Battle 2 4000 that would do the same thing. Eventually it would almost completely seize up. Penn sent me a whole new reel and the new one did the same thing. How do you fix it then?

There is a stud on the oscillation gear that rides in the groove of the block. Often ties that stud will wear down and create sloppy performance. Sometimes the groove gets elongated and that causes the same performance issue. That should not be problem out of the box - The fix is to replace both the gear and the block to restore the mechanics - Dennis
