I can still remember the first time I saw Phil do this. It was on 12/2/2001 at the Beacon theater. Literally dropped all responsibilities (not many since I was 17 at the time) and attended the whole run of shows. Such an incredible time in my life that I wouldnt change for a minute.
I love that Phil missed his cue to come in on the second verse they played for years and they still make mistakes it's awesome Phil really belts this one out I love it
It sucks that Jerry died but I just wanna be able to say I met and hugged Phil Lesh man ... I don't even know why, I just need him to know he has put so many smiles on my face .. he has made so many of my sad days not so blue.. I feel like I'd be missing out on everything in life if I don't at least get to see him in person .. that tall beautiful man .. looks alot like my grandpa .. same with Bobby of course .. and Billy and Mickey .. all of you guys man .. I'd like to give every one of those guys at least one heartfelt hug before it's too late man....
I was there. Wonderful! The last Morning Dew happened that night, and an interesting Supplication jam, although for some reason I didn't notice it at the time.
Who else is gonna bring you a broken arrow Who else is gonna bring you a bottle of rain There he goes moving across the water There he goes turning my whole world around Do you feel what I feel Can we make it so that's part of the deal I gotta hold you in these arms of steel Lay your heart on the line this time I wanna breathe when you breathe When you whisper like that hot summer breeze Count the beads of sweat that cover me Didn't you show me a sign this time Can you see what I see Can you cut behind the mystery I will meet you by the witness tree Leave the whole world behind I want to come when you call I'll get to you if I have to crawl They can't hold me with these iron walls We got mountains to climb, to climb Turning my whole world around Turning my whole world around Turning my whole world around
One of the most achingly beautiful songs in their set list. Like YOU ARE MY SHINING STAR, B A always brings a lump to my throat. It makes me feel a sense of longing, but in a good way.
Love this. ! Saw this and heard the song for the first time when Phil sang it ( for me) at the Nassau col. Then rushed out to by the album (cd) that had this beautiful song. Played it over and over and over. Now had that urge again youTubeRocks
ya robbie wrote this for his wife, however saw phil at alpine play this in 98 and i cried like a baby! saw the grateful dead 10 times and never got it with jerry, guess i wasnt ready, still cry!!
favorite phil song. didn't realize the dead had played this as a whole. im kinda young so i guess it's to be expected of me lol. awesome though. had only heard the p&f version before this
Did Jerry have guitar trouble during his solo or did the recording not pick up his guitar sound because in the video it looked like he wasn't picking his guitar or fretting the neck I don't know I just found it interesting
i just saw Phil sing this up at his place (Terrapin Crossroads) a few days ago with some of his friends, and it was an absolutely beautiful performance, and now i know where it came from. who wrote this song, Hunter?

Thanks for the tune, Robbie! We love you.
LET PHIL SING!!!!!!
Who else is gonna bring you a broken arrow
Who else is gonna bring you a bottle of rain
There he goes moving across the water
There he goes turning my whole world around
Do you feel what I feel
Can we make it so that's part of the deal
I gotta hold you in these arms of steel
Lay your heart on the line this time
I wanna breathe when you breathe
When you whisper like that hot summer breeze
Count the beads of sweat that cover me
Didn't you show me a sign this time
Can you see what I see
Can you cut behind the mystery
I will meet you by the witness tree
Leave the whole world behind
I want to come when you call
I'll get to you if I have to crawl
They can't hold me with these iron walls
We got mountains to climb, to climb
Turning my whole world around
Turning my whole world around
Turning my whole world around

Robbie Robertson song. th-cam.com/video/MiOISz3S8UQ/w-d-xo.html
Top Tune. Thanks Phil ❤❤❤
Robbie Robertson wrote it and it's on his 1987 self titled release.
The people who say he didn't give The Band members for song credits should listen to Robbie's post Band songs. The guy is amazing.
My last time seeing Jerry. It was evident he wasn't well.
ya robbie wrote this for his wife, however saw phil at alpine play this in 98 and i cried like a baby! saw the grateful dead 10 times and never got it with jerry, guess i wasnt ready, still cry!!

My favorite Broken Arrow is 07/02/95. ;-)
Course.. it is the very first one I ever heard.

Pity John Martyn never made a cover.
