I am thinking about buying an ipad myself and the king just decided to upload LET'S GO. I was about not to buy this made me change my mind. I'm getting the air 5 blue :3
Waah! Do NOT get the Apple Pencil 2! It has NO pressure sensitivity and is pretty much useless for art making, no better than using your finger. Get the Pencil Pro instead if you want to draw and paint. ❤
@@kurohshiro @kurohshiro i also heard about the air 5 but I only have 800€ like in total that I just got working my first part time job(and first job ever) for 1 month I'm really thinking if I should even buy anything but like I lost the pencil of my one by Wacom and it just seems to be nowhere, also it was kinda broken. Time to finally upgrade my makeshift kuroshiro procreate brushes to the real thing 😂 Sunday looks awesome! I admire the weight you put into your lineart here, I think the grainy texture and the line variation really gives the kuroshiro feel to the art ahaha. I’m pretty sure I’ve said it before, but I also really like the saturated colors you include in your shading, the mix and match of the desaturated colors along with it looks good. I also can’t really tell a difference from your usual clip studio art, I think Sunday looks perfect. I feel like it’s been a long time since I last saw a kuroshiro video, so I get to feast upon your art again :) Anyways, welcome back rough color layer, we’ve missed you lmao
Oh thank you for this nice comment! I really appreciate it 😌. Yes I love to include Saturated hues into desatured shading. I think that's an art trait of mine no matter which software I am using. Thanks again for your comment!
@@kurohshiro You're welcome! No worries, take as long as you need as long as you enjoy the process 😌 Artist health is always more important than the art so if it means taking breaks are longer waiting between videos then do what must be done. You definitely have fans who will understand 😄

Sadly I am not happy with them yet 😭 idk how to make brushes working like in clip studio and I don't want to publish half finished brushes. But when I figured this out I'll definitely post them :)
Uploading Sunday on a Sunday… this couldn‘t have been more perfect! Awesome video as always, Kuro! I‘m always looking forward to your uploads! Haha yes that timing xD Oh really? I always wanted csp for the ipad but I didn't like the subscription style of their licence. How does csp behave on ios?
Awesome as always! It’s really hard to find something that resembles csp brushes. I tried trying to just use procreate but ended up using it just for sketching and stuffs when I’m away from my laptop. And the difference in quality is recognisable.
One of my favorite things to do in procreate is to use the lasso tool to color sections I want to color using a materials brush like "waddlebird" or an airbrush tool, then holding down the select tool again to reselect the area I just colored, then tapping invert, then I can easily paint right up against the edge of the other section without gaps.
@@kurohshiro exactly! And your work is excellent, by the way. Just incredible. Better than mine, but I do love that method and you might really like it.

That's actually true. I guess because of some limitations with Procreate I don't have as many options to choose from so it's easier and I can focus on drawing. It's fun for sure. Oh wow what a compliment. Thank you so much. Yeah csp is a bit overwhelming at first and Procreate definitely offers a lot of clip studios features as well, just hidden behind a smooth and intuitive interface. I like to work with csp because shortcuts give me access to a fast way of working despite the full interface. But I understand that. Anyways, thanks again for your comment and I hope you're having fun drawing :3
@@kurohshiro yeaahh i agree w that, no matter what kind of tablet you use csp makes your drawing looks more smooth and clean maybe its because procreate is a program based on the screen’s pixels? idk but if you are not doing professional work procreate is a really good program to have fun with hehe
Whoa, so happy you made a drawing in Procreate! I absolutely love your techniques -- even tried CSP to better understand them, hehe -- but it's still easier to observe when the work is done in an accustomed environment. The art is amazing, I'd say angelic theme fits your gentle and exquisite style. The colors are deep yet calm, I'd even say lulling in case of background. The two feathers are perfect touch, they create great dynamic alongside with the pose. Awesome job as always!
Oh gosh thanks for this observation and noticing all the details! Yeah, when I watch people's speedpaints and they use other software than the one I am using its harder to follow and then I just watch a nice painting process but don't learn as much because the methods and way of working are not familiar.
Thank you for such a helpful tutorial and opportunity to understand your workflow so precisely. I would like to know about last stage (effects ) in more details, hope you might consider to create another video about it. This lightning and background details are so stunning, look like it’s easy to create but easy things turn to be the most difficult sometimes 😂
Oh I agree! There are so many options in the end to create nie effects with all the blending modes, brushes and effects. It's kinda overwhelming and honestly I still haven't figured out how to achieve nice outcomes. This time it was luck haha but I'll add this to my list. Thank you :)
you gave us a magical sunday, thank you so much for sharing your art. 😭 will you upload the final artwork somewhere ? :) i would be dyinggg to make it my phone wallpaper... if we are allowed to, of course!
That's true. And actually ibis paint has the better features. It's just a bit overwhelming to get use to it's interface. But I definitely plan on trying it as well :)
I'm unsure if you have a screen protector for your Ipad, but I recommend the BELLEMOND brand. They're affordable and way better than the Paperlike or other alternative brands that gives it tht nice feeling and sound that you are drawing on a paper so it doesn't feel too weird drawing on the glass itself.
I actually do have a matte screen protector which I really like. I forgot the brand but I think it's the one you named. Thank you so much for the advice because I think many people can make use out of this information :)
I'm relieved to see I'm in the same boat as you lol! I've gone back and forth between many different programs, from mainly ibisPaint to using a free trial of CSP for a short while and now to Procreate after getting an iPad. I'm thinking maybe I was just really spoiled by CSP's wide range of useful features, but seeing your exact same critique points which I wholeheartedly share, I sadly can't deny that Procreate just feels.. lacking. I feel so-so about the UI being so compressed and simple because obviously that makes the navigation so much easier from a beginner's POV but at the same time this makes the features lacking (namely the selection tool and the fill tool are in dire need of more settings options). On the other hand there are too MANY settings for brush customization imo. Like you, I'm struggling to find a comfortable brush simply because whenever I want a specific brush property it's locked behind dozens of different settings combos. Anyway, essay over. I'm glad I could share my experience on Procreate, obviously it's still an amazing program with much potential!!! ^v^
meh procreate is a great program the simplicity and performance makes it reliable. my remind you it's a drawing app not a desktop program. Logically, clip studio is a more robust software. I think for certain styles like Kuroshiro's clipstudio is suited it and also it also has to do with the workflow that you like
@@ness6069 Yes I definitely agree, given the fact it's a mobile app you can't expect a loaded UI like CSP's. Ultimately, it comes down to everyone's individual preference imo. Some work better with this, others with that
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me! I understand exactly what you mean. To start with digital art ist definitely the easiest and most powerful program but when you once experienced the features and possibilities with clip studio you see all the things Procreate doesn't have. Like why can't I just flip the view? Why do I have to flip the whole canvas to see it mirrored or why can't I make a clipping layer for a group? These are minor things which makes working with it harder than it could be. Again thank you for letting me know ☺️
(I don’t know if you mentioned this in the video, I didn’t see it so I’m asking here!^^) As someone who watches ur videos and uses pro create, it was so amazing to see this pop up! I was wondering what brushes you used for sketch / Lineart / coloring / rendering + shading? 😮 (Also is the Kuro brush pack ur personal one? If so I’d totally buy it-)
I know lol but actually whenever it works I change the interface to light. Idk maybe it's because I want to burn my eyes to have an excuse to not draw. Jk, I guess it's because of being used to ^^
Thank you! I would study different Poses you find interesting to look at. I always try to think which character would suit this pose and then I am more hyped to study Poses to eventually get a pose I could use for a new piece while learning anatomy. It's also helpful to see how other people simplify forms. I look for "anatomy back drawing" or "anatomy arm drawing" to see how people break down certain parts. Hope this helps!
Thank you! Actually they aren't imported. I tried to rebuild them with the features and settings Procreate brush tool has to offer. I am not quite happy with them yet even though I used the same textures and brush nibs (which I saved as jpg from clip studio and reused them here)
Oh this depends on the face tbh. When a face is hard to draw and I have to redraw it 10 times then a piece takes me 3 weeks lol. But when everything is OK then I take 1 week with 20 to 40h of work I guess
For csp I am working on a new set and have it ready soon again. For Procreate I am still not satisfied with my own brushes so I try to adjust them a bit more before I release them. I hope that's OK 🙇♂️
I am going to buy a drawing tablet from Kamvas in April/May of 2025, by then I will have watched all your videos to hopefully raise my art skills to a decent level. {I am a perfectionist, it really drags down my art potential as I give up soon if something doesn't look good.}
Oh I understand that with being a perfectionist. I oftentimes delete pictures from my social media when they didn't perform well which is a bad thing. I wish you a lot of fun with drawing. I guess the more someone's drawing the less precious they are about one single piece and that whole experience of creating art is joyful and I think that is what brings improvement and being looser about your art.
Omg this video is so good!! By the way, I have a question... when I talk about art, I always talk about you, but what are your pronouns? I use he/him without knowing... if it's not too much trouble, could you answer?
hi Kuroshiro I really love your videos and because of them I recently bought xppen 15.6 I really want to learn how to draw and match your quality of art and if I could ask do you have any good advice how to start learning
Oh hey! That's my go to tablet which I really like. I think like with every new thing we try to understand it's a matter of fun. I set myself a goal to learn. Like "making a vtuber model" and then I start drawing and when I realise I am not improving on a certain point I look for help in form of refs and people's advice. And then I continue. What I want to say is basically that I learn while I create and collect the knowledge as I go. After all it should make fun and starting with tons of studies is one option but not a fun one (for some). Hope that helps a bit :) wishing you all the best for your art!
The brushes are definitely my biggest pain point when it comes to procreate 😔 I know exactly how I want the brush to behave but I can never find one that matches sob
For coming up with Poses it's usually a mix between referencing single parts and combining different Poses. I do have a pose in mind and look for references of specific parts. For this pose I haven't used much references. Usually I use more :)
amazing work 🎉🎉 gahh i wannabe able to produce something like this one day! regarding your concerns, ive always thought procreate favors more painterly and looser style of art rather than clean lined/inkwork styles that are easier to achieve in programs like csp. idk if this is actually true or if its just me, i just think their brush system behaves differently. i started out digital art with those regular drawing tablets with no screens and only since last year have i started drawing on ipad for convenience, i noticed that when i draw on screen on a flat surface or even tilted, it skews my perspective and proportions quite badly, compared to drawing tablets with no screen where i look at my monitor thats standing upright, which im less likely to make mistakes 😂 though im aware this is very much an amateur artist problem to have
Actually not. I know what you mean. I am always totally confused when I see my art on my laptop screen instead of my tilted display and things which used to look good are kinda wonky. I am also someone who doesn't have the tablet in front but next to my screen so it's even more distorted. But I agree, Procreate is looser and more approachable to make Art :)
When it's from the csp set or Kuro set I haven't linked them because I haven't released them yet because I am not happy with how they perform. The other brushes I linked. Especially the sinix brushes are wonderful to work with :)
Sorry if this is off topic but when I clicked on your sketch/lineart brush for clip studio paint you have to pay for it and I remember not paying for it? anyway do you have a similar brush that's free?
Yes. That's not a brush I made but I liked it so I bought it myself. I linked it because csp has deleted my free Kuro sketch and ink sadly so I wanted to give people and alternative and link the brush I am actually using. But! I am working on a new set and will release them soon again. :) thanks for understanding!
I sadly can't find some of the brushes myself anymore since I downloaded them 3 years ago. But I also used my own brushes which I hope to publish soon for everyone :)
imo it really isn't though I started with procreate. now I'm starting to use clipstudio but it depends of your style though if it's more straight forward and painterly or having that traditional style not sure how to explain it it's really easy especially for those that are transitioning from traditional art. For anime or comic style probably it gets more time to get used to it
Nope. I don't have my shortcuts available and it's more tedious to get the same result like with clip studio and my tablet. I also like the feel of the pen of graphic tablets :)
Sadly I am using a mix of the linked ones and my own which I haven't published yet. But I want to share them with you hopefully soon when I made them work like I wanted them to work :)

Thank you so much for the brushes!❤
I LOVE YOUR ART SM OMG 🤩😭
I'm in love with your drawing
Thank you! :)
Ahhh que bienn otro video de kuro ahh gracias 🫂💞
Loved the video and illustration!
Woow it's so fabulous! Thanks for the detailed process of your drawing, I'm your new subscriber 💖
I am glad you like it! Thanks for your comment :)
@@kurohshiro thank you 💕
I really miss you , you are my favourite artist ever ❤❤❤
Aw thank you!
Welcome back! I hope you're doing well!

Procreate gang 🙌🏻
Ahh not yet xD but maybe soon. It wasn't too bad of an experience I have to admit. I am sure I can learn a lot from others

Love your artstyle
Thank you!
you gave us a magical sunday, thank you so much for sharing your art. 😭 will you upload the final artwork somewhere ? :) i would be dyinggg to make it my phone wallpaper... if we are allowed to, of course!
Oh of course! I will post it soon this week on X and instagram I hope :)
i love procreate!!
I love your artstyle! ITS INSANE!!!! I'd love it if you released more videos in Ibis Paint cuz not everyone has money for Procreate lol 🤭
That's true. And actually ibis paint has the better features. It's just a bit overwhelming to get use to it's interface. But I definitely plan on trying it as well :)
Wish i could draw as good as you
I'm unsure if you have a screen protector for your Ipad, but I recommend the BELLEMOND brand.
Thid drawing is soooo beautiful
Thank you!
Again thank you for letting me know ☺️
Your art is so gorgeous ❤❤❤
Can you make a comparison between Clip Studio Paint and Procreate on ipad?
Thank you! Unfortunately I don't own csp for the ipad. But I like how csp works so I assume I would prefer it. Maybe I can do this in the future :)
awesome~!!!
(I don’t know if you mentioned this in the video, I didn’t see it so I’m asking here!^^)
As someone who watches ur videos and uses pro create, it was so amazing to see this pop up!
I was wondering what brushes you used for sketch / Lineart / coloring / rendering + shading? 😮
(Also is the Kuro brush pack ur personal one? If so I’d totally buy it-)
What kind of pen do you use for sketching and drawing lines? (Amazing artwork :3)
SUNDAY 🔥
no Kuro. you messed up this time: WHO THE F USES LIGHT INTERFACE PROCREATE?!?!?! ( i'm joking, love the video and luv you)
I know lol but actually whenever it works I change the interface to light. Idk maybe it's because I want to burn my eyes to have an excuse to not draw. Jk, I guess it's because of being used to ^^
@@kurohshiro your eye doctor must be earning a lot from you burning your eyes out then, shout out to the doctor🗣️🗣️ /jj
OH MY GOD SUNDAY
I'm waiting for your new video ❤
Hello kuro love your art and when you draw in procreat ! What would you recommend to people who learn anatomy to draw?
@@kurohshiro thank you so much Kuro, I'll try it! 🙆🤍🤍
This is so amazing. How did u import your sketch and line brushes? They are not procreate files so I cannot download.
Thank you! Actually they aren't imported. I tried to rebuild them with the features and settings Procreate brush tool has to offer. I am not quite happy with them yet even though I used the same textures and brush nibs (which I saved as jpg from clip studio and reused them here)
Your art process is so thorough and particularized, how much time does a piece usually take you on average? 😮
Oh this depends on the face tbh. When a face is hard to draw and I have to redraw it 10 times then a piece takes me 3 weeks lol. But when everything is OK then I take 1 week with 20 to 40h of work I guess
@@kurohshiro incredible! I'm glad I'm not the only one who takes eons to finish a singular piece 😅
Amazing art but just wondering where I can get your lineart and sketch brush? When I tried the one in ur description, it looked heavily different😅
For csp I am working on a new set and have it ready soon again. For Procreate I am still not satisfied with my own brushes so I try to adjust them a bit more before I release them. I hope that's OK 🙇♂️
He puts me (a fellow procreate user) to shame
I am going to buy a drawing tablet from Kamvas in April/May of 2025, by then I will have watched all your videos to hopefully raise my art skills to a decent level. {I am a perfectionist, it really drags down my art potential as I give up soon if something doesn't look good.}
Oh I understand that with being a perfectionist.
Danggg🔥
20 hours early
SUNDAY RAAAA
Omg this video is so good!!
By the way, I have a question... when I talk about art, I always talk about you, but what are your pronouns? I use he/him without knowing... if it's not too much trouble, could you answer?
Oh that's actually sweet of you asking. I am fine with any pronouns actually, preferably they/them :)
@kurohshiro ohh, okay, thanks for answering my question!!
hi Kuroshiro I really love your videos and because of them I recently bought xppen 15.6 I really want to learn how to draw and match your quality of art and if I could ask do you have any good advice how to start learning
Watching this even though I don’t do digital art😅
Ahh hope it's still some sort of help or entertainment! :3
@@kurohshiro yep, it is!
Chicken Wings spotted (˶°ㅁ°) !! Thank you for the video and the amazing art ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂)⸝♡
The brushes are definitely my biggest pain point when it comes to procreate 😔
I know exactly how I want the brush to behave but I can never find one that matches sob
Yeah it's all about the brushes it seems. That's why I am switching so much between each brush because neither of them is 100 % what I wanted.
Can you link the kuro brush set please?
Hey! Sadly I haven't posted it since I am not happy with how it works. But I will let people know when I share it :)
どこでkuroブラシをダウンロード出来ますか?
Hello! I am sorry the brushes are currently not available. I want to upload the brushes soon 🙇♂️
Did you use a reference for the pose or did you do it by yourself ?
Whats the bame of the brush you use for painting and smudging??
:) thanks for understanding!
can I ask which brush you used for your sketch? I love that texture but I couldn't find any myself😭
I sadly can't find some of the brushes myself anymore since I downloaded them 3 years ago. But I also used my own brushes which I hope to publish soon for everyone :)
캬ㅏㅏ
how to make that lighting, i always end up with boring lighting and poseT///T
ngl as someone who uses csp 95% of the time, procreate is so hard to work with
So relatable! I am missing so many features here. It was unusual to me to work with Procreate.
imo it really isn't though I started with procreate. now I'm starting to use clipstudio but it depends of your style though if it's more straight forward and painterly or having that traditional style not sure how to explain it it's really easy especially for those that are transitioning from traditional art. For anime or comic style probably it gets more time to get used to it
Do you prefer it over your xp-pen?
Nope. I don't have my shortcuts available and it's more tedious to get the same result like with clip studio and my tablet. I also like the feel of the pen of graphic tablets :)
which brush did u use for rendering? sorry i couldnt find it in the links :(
Sadly I am using a mix of the linked ones and my own which I haven't published yet. But I want to share them with you hopefully soon when I made them work like I wanted them to work :)
the gumroad link in the description doesnt work💔
Oh thanks for letting me know! I will fix this :)
I would like to apologize to my housemates for the weird scream I made when I saw Sunday...
