Okay, this one seems more tame than past videos, this brings me back when every artist was drawing themselves or their characters in 30 different artstyles back in 2016-2019
Okay, I'm a big Junji Ito fan, I even have a hardcover of Lovesick, one of Junji Ito's stories, and both of the Junji Ito attempts were spot on! Especially Emily's screaming girl expression
PLEASE MAKE THIS A SERIES!!! not only is it fun to just watch you guys explore the styles but people could also appreciate the details in a mangaka's art style that you normally wouldnt pay much attention to as a regular manga reader
I second daidus on emily's junji ito one because if I had to guess who drew that I would one hundred percent not think it was emily because it looked straight out of a horror manga panel. It was simply too goated.
Emily's Junji Ito drawing is very well done considering it was timed,, like the biggest thing abt junji ito is his details in his drawings and emily snapshotted his style very well.
We need a full "drawing in Toriyama's Style" episode. I would love to see how Diadus and Emirichu would look in the Dragon Ball and Dragon Quest universe
Yup, totally agreed in Kubo's part. In early manga, he usually using light weight line which makes his character more simplified. But you can see how his drawing evolve and mature in later arc. The most prominent changes can be seen in female characters. Also you can find youtube videos where Kubo himself just casually drawing using G-pen and also brush
The idea that Emily had at the end where they’d have a redemption episode and redraw all their least favourites once they get through all of them, I think that is a GREAT idea !! I’d say, if you decide to continue these, take one least favourite drawing from each episode, put them aside and do them for the redemption episode ! I think they should continue this as a series, this was very entertaining to watch. Both of your drawing skills are immaculate.
Art tips, learning together, discussing favorite art styles... Yeah, yeah, whatever I'm here to see the ever-changing masterpieces that are Emily's nails of the week 💅✨
i got so excited when you pulled out Mizuho Kusanagi man 😭 im re watching Yona rn and daidus did so good with his Hak drawing! i really like emily's Junji Ito drawing too! that was the only drawing where I couldn't see the emirichu art style come through but it turned out reallyyy cool
i would love to see a dedicated episode studying specific mangaka styles without a time limit!! like maybe taking a closer look at different characters and figuring out how they would possibly draw your personas in their style, much like this one but taking your time with it ^^ so yeah basically a redemption episode 😭
I was introduced to Daidus through CDawgVA’s RV trip and decided to check out the his channel and stumbled across your Spilled Ink duo channel. You’re both such great fun and I’m always happy to see a new video has been uploaded. It always brings a little bit of joy to my day. Thank you Daidus and Emirichu!
Oooh, I really wanna see you guys drawn in Akira Toriyama's style! His art style did change a lot over the years, but I'd say around the 1995 Majin Buu/Dragon Quest VI era was Toriyama's most iconic look.
this NEEDS to be a recurring series on the channel!!! I would love to see you guys redo some of the pieces, try other mangakas' art styles and even maybe have some guests do it with you!!!
I love that every challenge video ultimately devolves into both Emily and Daidus regretting doing the challenge XD This was really fun tho! And a great way to stretch drawing muscles!!
I like how the Junji Ito ones turned out. It's like Junji Emily is upset because Junji Daidus is being weird, and Junji Daidus just respomds by going "hue hue hue" :3 Seriously though I'm genuinely amazed how you were both able to turn your hand to such distinctive styles, by mangakas with such idiosyncratic ways of illustrating characters. I hope you're both proud of yourselves :D I'd definitely love to see another video like this one!
Loved this episode, and I agree with Daidus, Emily your Junji Ito was actually amazing! It would be a cool months worth of videos though if you drew the artists for the first two-three weeks with 10 (lets be real and just make it 15 lol) mins sketches. On the last week you could both take your least favorite 2 of each week and make a redemption arc, maybe even an episode in-between where you guys quickly practice the styles you had the most difficulty with!
Y'all need to do a part 2 ASAP! I am OBSESSED with your guy's channel. I loved how you drew yourselves in different manga styles. A part 2 is needed. Especially since you guys have more papers in the box. One of the reasons why I would like you guys to do a part 2 is because I love the idea of you guys drawing yourselves in different manga style on each anime. It sounds very fun. You guys inspire me to draw, too. I love how you guys draw. Keep going! Can't wait for more!🥹😎💕✨️
This should definitely be a series. And (maybe??) a tip for Takeuchi's style I read 20 years ago in a magazine: loose strokes for basically everything but the eyes. Sometimes it's like Naoko is almost too lazy (or in a hurry) to draw details that everybody won't pay attention to. Trying new styles is a fun exercise, I should try that too sometime :)
You guys should do this again but make the time 20 or 15 minutes!! i love seeing the different styles I just wish you guys had more time so you didn’t have to rush
I don't usually comment on YT videos, but I wanted to say that your Spilled Ink channel has inspired me to get back into art after an 18 month art block. I love watching your process. This video in particular sparked the idea for my Inktober 2024 challenge-draw one of my characters in other artists' styles. Thank you both for your honesty in your videos. I appreciate that sometimes you don't like your art, force yourselves to work outside of your comfort zones, and offer each other positive, constructive criticism. I think a lot of us struggle to stay positive when every piece isn't great, but listening to you two encourage each other and your viewers to keep going really helps a lot! Side note: Emily's Tite Kubo and Junji Ito pieces were spot on!!
NOOO EMILY. THE JUNJI ITTO ONE YOU DREW IS MY FAV ONE FROM THE ONES YOU DID YOU NAILED IT SO WELL. LIKE I can imagine seeing that as a panel in a junji itto page, just with a very slight few tweaks. It’s literally so good.
Thank you for actually drawing your characters in the art style and now just inserting the main character of said manga with some features of your character. This was amazing please do it again, also you can take more time if you like I’m sure we all would love too see outcomes with your full potential
This is amazing! Please make more - you could also have different categories - male characters only, shoujo, 90s, magical girls, power ups... THERE'S SO MANYYY
Don’t worry about being a slow artist, Daidus. My procreate canvas may say 35 hours, but that’s 35 hours stretched across multiple days, maybe even multiple weeks
I like this episode a lot! It's fun to see y'all getting outside your comfort zones and messing around with new mediums, but it's also fun to see y'all flex your drawing skills like this.
i love this! i hope you do more because this such a fun way to learn about other manga and to also look at familiar manga from an artists perspective. y'all are too harsh on yourselves, you're both fantastic!
Yes, I would absolutely love to see you do this again! I also wouldn't mind seeing you have a little extra time or some way to get the result closer to where you'd like. Really fun episode!
I hope next week would be a part 2 of this because I would love to see them try other manga styles, also seems like this video is shorter than usual but I like this change because completing one hours videos is pretty tough
Yes, I'd like 5+ more episodes of this to go, thank you. No joke, if you guys decided to do a redo, please take all the time you need. You guys nailed their artstyle so well, I'd love to see more from you
Super solid. Please make this a series.
Agreed, this definitely seems like it could go on for a while and still be enjoyable
Yes!!! That would be awesome
Yesssss
Yeaaa
It is
Emily's Junji Ito one is actually insanely good
Daidus's Junji Ito one was really spot-on too!
@@simondanielssonmusic yeah those ones feel like they're out of a manga panel
For Real it was so spot on!
Litterslly itss soo good
I know! So surprised she doesn't like it.
Emily's Kubo drawing goes so haaaard, the line work and face look so close to it, amazing
Seriously it makes me think she's an assistant for Kubo
@@elimDBZ that's why she didn't read it lol
It's actually insane how she(imo) did a better job than Daidus despite not caring for Bleach
Kubo's female character's expressions make you want to punch them, I think she captured that perfectly 😂
Reminds me of like late arrancar arc tbh
They both snapped with the Junji Ito one imho.
Okay, this one seems more tame than past videos, this brings me back when every artist was drawing themselves or their characters in 30 different artstyles back in 2016-2019
There’s still some channels making those videos, just with not as much hype as before, still pretty fun to watch though!
Okay, I'm a big Junji Ito fan, I even have a hardcover of Lovesick, one of Junji Ito's stories, and both of the Junji Ito attempts were spot on! Especially Emily's screaming girl expression
Omg , samee
emily’s screaming girl was so accurate that i almost screamed myself
Aieee went hard.
I have only 3 mangas of junji ito and I love it smmm
6:29 DAIDUS AS USOPP IS CRAZY 💀💀💀
How did u reach 6 mins when it was just published 4 minutes ago 😭
@@DaisyCoreXDsome ppl watch at x2 speed
@@WishMakerDX oh ok lol

I agree! I really want to see more of this, sounds like fun for both sides!

Emily's Junji Ito drawing is very well done considering it was timed,, like the biggest thing abt junji ito is his details in his drawings and emily snapshotted his style very well.
peak ink is back
after watching: emily’s junji ito is so good what!!! i was so shocked
Please do more 😭 so many mangakas have such a unique style its always fun to see people's renditions of it
5:19 I feel your pain Daidus. Your leg falling asleep is one of the worst feelings on earth
We need a full "drawing in Toriyama's Style" episode. I would love to see how Diadus and Emirichu would look in the Dragon Ball and Dragon Quest universe
Do it on Oct. 11 in honor of Sparking Zero and Daima.
I genuinely kept waiting to see Toriyama's name pop up from the box
That would be amazing
just a bunch of gokus and bulmas
YOOOO THAT’D BE F*CKING AWESOME

honestly i really like spilled ink, because i get to see more of daidus
God, Emily's so good. Like she could legit just make her own manga
Daidus your Sailormoon version looks so much like Seiya and Yaten combined. You got Starlight vibes!
Ngl. Daidus as Haku is spot on
Art tips, learning together, discussing favorite art styles... Yeah, yeah, whatever
I'm here to see the ever-changing masterpieces that are Emily's nails of the week 💅✨
Correction, I think you mean Daidus' nails ✨
Emily needs to do close up on the nails set! 💅
you KILLED the sailor moon/naoko takeuchi style emily!!! daidus, we sailor moon fans will patiently await your redraw 😌
YES AMAZING GIVE ME 14 MORE EPISODES
I was so happy when I read Mizuho Kusanagi's name, she's too underrated!
I AM TOOO, I LOVE YONA OF THE DAWN
The way they get the art styles so accurate it's freaking impressive like damn I'd flex so hard if I could do that 😅
10:08 honestly that's pretty good, it looks like one of Mamoru's many alteregos from the anime.
i got so excited when you pulled out Mizuho Kusanagi man 😭 im re watching Yona rn and daidus did so good with his Hak drawing! i really like emily's Junji Ito drawing too! that was the only drawing where I couldn't see the emirichu art style come through but it turned out reallyyy cool

so yeah basically a redemption episode 😭
I've had that one image of Emily in the Jojo style from the cafe video stuck in my mind since it came out, so I would love this, actually.
Emily's signature art style too strong lol
I love how the time limit is 10 but Emily and Daidus just agree to do longer everytime
Oooh, I really wanna see you guys drawn in Akira Toriyama's style! His art style did change a lot over the years, but I'd say around the 1995 Majin Buu/Dragon Quest VI era was Toriyama's most iconic look.
any version of Toriyama's artstyle is a blessing, i wouldnt mind if they all did their out takes (anythibg but the generic db super style😅)
Emily touching her boyfriend's leg whilst it was asleep ironically awoke a brand new drawing style for him.
I understand why they’re usually longer, but I love this shorter video!!!
this NEEDS to be a recurring series on the channel!!! I would love to see you guys redo some of the pieces, try other mangakas' art styles and even maybe have some guests do it with you!!!
I love that every challenge video ultimately devolves into both Emily and Daidus regretting doing the challenge XD
This was really fun tho! And a great way to stretch drawing muscles!!
I would love to see a series dedicated to completing the contents of the box!!!! I think that artist style challenges are some of the best!
Friday night, ice cream, blanket and a fresh new video from spilled ink
They cooked with this episode, honestly.
With every video I get reminded on how crazily good of an artist Daidus and Emily are
My excitement when Tite Kubo was the first name drawn.
Oh man. Emily's Kubo is so sick. Also, Daidus' energy is awesome
I've never read a junji ito manga coz they're expensive af, but Emily's junji ito drawing gives me HEAVY Takeshi Obata vibes
Im glad daidus has the opportunity to make more youtube videos with this channel
I like how the Junji Ito ones turned out. It's like Junji Emily is upset because Junji Daidus is being weird, and Junji Daidus just respomds by going "hue hue hue" :3

A 2024 Spilled Ink recap would be the many times Emily & Daidus still draw when the timer is already up😂🤣
Drawer is a word, Daidus, it just means something completely different.
100% make another one of these this was a really good video
Both Emi and Daidus's Junji Ito drawing are the best, imo.
Please do more of this. This was awesome.
i think emily is crazy. aieeee is the best

This was so cool! As a non-drawrer, I thought Emily's Yona style was really accurate
I think it’ll be interesting if u did a Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun manga style!

I love this video so much i think Emily’s idea to do a redemption episode would be really good!
please please make this a series, I would love to see you guys try it in Clamp's or Haruko Ichikawa's styles

I loved Daidus' Junji Ito drawing - instantly recognisable as his style. I'd love to see more videos like this - all the art was so good!
I definitely want more of this. The Kubo ones were really good, followed by Oda and Ito. Nice work you two. Loved listening to you two discuss art.
I would LOVE to see more episodes like this!

Emilys Junji was on point! I loved Daidus Junji and Oda !
I'm so glad they did Junji. You can't talk about Manga style without Junji
I loved this video it was so fun!! I’d definitely like to watch you guys draw in the rest of the styles!

Emily and daidus:draws a really good face in less than 10 minutes
