  • This video shows the Midway Village Museum "farmers" (volunteers) farming and harvesting with antique tractors and implements. We are demonstrating equipment and implements from the early 1900s. Our threshing machine is a Case brand from made in 1927. The corn binder is an International Harvester from the 1920s and was originally horse-drawn. The hay press (baler) was manufactured by Sandwich Co. in Sandwich, IL about 1909. The 2-bottom plow is an IH Little Genius from about 1930. The tractors in this video are a 1935 John Deere B and a 1943 John Deere A. We raise winter wheat, corn and pumpkins at the Village for use in the Village. For example, the pumpkins and corn shocks are used to decorate the Village in the fall. Midway Village is a museum and re-created town representing Rockford, IL in the Victorian era.
