I live in one of the Caribbean islands where crime is a serious problem. Consequently, it's unsafe (especially as a lone woman) to photograph the night sky and so live vicariously through your travels and experiences and always in awe with your final photo releases like a kid in a large candy store.
You've gotten the opportunity to view and experience the night sky and atmosphere from a different location... what a privilege!!

Hey Alyn, you really do have to look after yourself mate. As you've already experienced .. it's easy to lower your immunity to illness etc when you're run down both physically and emotionally. Your book is outstanding and I know it's been a wonderful success .. so that's certainly been a huge motivator for many people.
I also very much understand how the youtube channel can be so draining creatively. Your best work has always been your spontaneous trips out into the night somewhere and I reckon everyone will enjoy those when they come. All the very best on your new adventure Alyn . .you're a legend mate.

Hi Alyn, I'm from Perth, Australia, and I got into photography (particularly astrophotography) about 12 months ago. Your channel is one that I have continued to come back to more than any other. One of my favourite videos of yours is on how to do star trails. I have now done them several times and I get better every time because I always use that video as a reference. I also plan on going to Exmouth in April for the eclipse. Watching your vlog on capturing the eclipse in Chile (I believe it was 2017) really inspired me to go. I learned a lot from that video too and will surely keep coming back to it as I prepare for my trip in April! Thanks and keep up the great work!! And best of luck in your new home :)

A few years ago, at the very start of me picking up this hobby (before I had even gotten myself a startracker), I stumbled over one of your early astrovlogs (I can't remember which one) while searching youtube for astrophoto videos. Your videos felt really realatable, especially since you also used "simple" equipment. I really liked not only your narration and editing, but I picked up a fair few tips along the way as well. In addition, just watching someone out and about at a dark site was inspiring for me as well - because I also wanted to do that.
Alyn, you’ve had a big influence on my life. There have been times when I’ve lacked the motivation to go outside to take astro pictures, or pictures in general, but your enthusiasm has given me the boost to get out the door. You’ve taken us on your adventures, to parts of the world many of won’t ever visit, which is amazing. Your technical knowledge is outstanding ,but you’re very honest and genuine which makes it easier to connect with you. WITNS has made me more aware of every month's night sky events in a way I never had been before. Your astral photography has been a spectacular way to see the Milky Way and other night sky features. Your travels have been interesting to watch, especially in showing the dedication and patience it takes to get to the right place at the right time and then hope clouds don't suddenly cover everything up. Hi Alyn, good luck with the move; Turkey is a beautiful country and especially so when you get out to the rural areas. I've been following your TH-cam for a while now and was fortunate enough to sit in on your astro presentation on the Greg Mortimer last year. Inspired by your tutorial I went out and shot my first star trails photo this past weekend and was very happy with the results. Great to have you back and I’m looking forward to see the results of your new structure. I started watching your channel because it helped guide me in doing two things that keep me interested in photography: the challenge of mastering something new and difficult, and photographing things that people do not normally see. In addition to the personal rewards of this, it helps immensely in my volunteer work with a river keeper NPO here in upstate New York. Unique photos of our river help keep it, and our organization, interesting to donors , partners, and the public generally.
Although I'm not a very frequent night photographer, I love the night sky and learning about universe beyond us and his speck called earth, how it all works, why we see what we see. I always enjoy your Video content and have learned so much from your easy to understand approach. I purchased your book and read page-by-page... it's a Masterpiece that helps me learn so much about astronomy and photography. Alyn, As a newbie to photography in general, watching your videos and purchasing your book has been such an inspiration. It's opened my eyes to the night sky and it's beauty. My first Milky Way photos blew my mind that it was even possible. Was just on your website and when you have time, I would love a timelapse instructional video from you. Your timelapses are amazing. I'd never shown any interest in astro despite having loved astrophysics growing up and continuing to follow a bit of it to this day. I was, however into landscapes and followed the likes of Thomas Heaton and Brandan van Son for tips.
You came up on my feed one day hiking Snowdonia with an incredible cloud inversion and it changed how I saw photography. The best part was this all happened in 2019 so when all of my hiking holidays were cancelled in 2020 along with all my plans for photography, I had something new and exciting to pursue. I had a daughter in late 2020 so even now going on hiking/photography based travel is pretty much impossible but thanks to my kid being asleep, I can still do astro.
In a way you are responsible for one of the few hobbies I still have time for.
Hopefully we can catch up soon pal , our astro adventures where always memorable pal , one of the only few to share my passion for the night sky so passionately, all the best in your future pal , im sure we can arrange a few nights somewhere shooting the stars again pal

Your channel was definately one of the biggest inspirations for me to start astrophotography. Seeing your adventures under the night sky, the excitement, the wonder, the photographic results... that's what I wanted to try also! Since about 3 years I've been learning about and getting very passionate about astrophotography. About a year ago I started thinking how cool it was that there were a few people out there, not the least yourself, that just went on putting out inspiring astro content out there on TH-cam. I decided I wanted to give back to that great community, try to inspire people myself to give this great hobby a go and have a great souvenir of my own astro adventures in the meantime. So with all my doubts about being on video myself aside I decided to just give it a go and also start a TH-cam channel myself. It's nowhere near the quality of your channel, but I definately want to thank you again for all the inspiration and motivation you've been putting out into the world. Hi Alyn, like yourself i live in north wales and before finding you on the internet I had no interest in Astrophotograpy as I mainly did landscape and fast jets. After discovering you and learning your techniques I was able to capture some great Astro shots even done my own time lapse. I now absolutely adore Astro photography and always trying to better myself just wish the weather was better. One thing I really enjoy is the monthly video’s explaining what happening in the up coming month plus love the competition you run. Alyn, I appreciate your transparency here in this video. I've never commented in your videos but I have bought calendars the past two years. Your landscape astrophotography and monthly WITNS videos have been most inspiring to me. I've very much appreciated your expertise in sharing the 'forecast' of the upcoming month's night sky. You've helped me to plan ahead and be knowledgeable which has allowed me to connect to family and friends by simply pointing to an area of the sky and sharing with them what planet that is, or what that constellation's name is or some other fun fact.
