My 2 year old just had major surgery yesterday morning. By the evening he was unsettled even after his pain meds. I was running out of ideas to calm him then thought about your videos. I played this one and almost immediately he calmed down and was asleep within minutes. Tonight was another rough one so I tried it again. He is snoring and I can finally get some sleep as well. I’m not sure if it’s the water or your voice for him but all I know is you brought him relief. 😢 Thank you. 😊 😴

This person doesn't need a pedicure, they need a podiatrist. No amount of trimming and detailing is going to stop it from being ingrown, or remove that excess skin...
Yeah exactly. She didn't fix anything, she just gave a pedicure. That swelling on the right is because that side of the nail is growing down into the toe. Notice with the small scooped tool she could go under the side of nail all the way down on the left side, but you don't see that on the toe right side. It's because she couldn't without cutting out the nail that is pushing into the toe.
@@kanthony65 You would be amazed at how much improvement is made taking her conservative approach. I had a fungal infection with a moderately ingrown big toenail. After 2 years of using various OTC products I had no success. I saw this channel over a year ago & after using her products and techniques my toe was back to normal in 7 months! And you don't get this kind of pedicure service at a regular nail salon or spa. Not even close.
She partially fixed the root of the problem. You need to follow her serial videos for patient follow up. Sometimes she fixes the problem in one visit, other times it's 3 or 4, depending on the severity of the nail problem.
yeah i agree i love the vids but this woman needs a doctor and i think she should have reccomended her to do so not just trimmed her nails because that toe was bad and that could get worse real quick

For all the trimming, cleaning, scraping, filing and "digging" you do, I have never seen you cut anyone, draw blood or heard anyone say ouch. And you have worked on some very painful feet. You're a Pedicure Angel!😇
I have seen both but who’s counting... it wasn’t terrible... and the blood wasn’t from the tool per se.

I think there are a few anonymous podiatrists commenting and not understanding her conservative approach. After seeing what some podiatrists do for ingrown toenails, YIKES-take me to Lori any day(I am a nurse, btw).
This is like a ASMR to me. The sound of water 💦 falling, the calming voice and the release of pain in the toes lol. It helps me sleep 😴❤️

Wow. I have never had a pedicure, thinking my calluses and ingrown toenails were just too gross to let anyone work on my feet. Now that I've watched a few of your videos, I realize that nail technicians have literally seen everything. Mine aren't so bad. I'll be making an appointment with my local nail salon soon.

I hope it’s not too late but please make sure u aren’t booking at just any salon. Try to make sure that it’s a well rated higher end salon and maybe ask if they are able to take care of it because lots of nail technicians aren’t properly trained to remove ingrowns and I know that in some states they aren’t even allowed to remove them without specific training. If I were u I’d find someone that specializes in this just to stay on the safe side and avoid infection

Thanks! I got my first one at a nice local salon. She was great! My toenails look amazing. It wasn't too bad of an ingrown. She was able to take care of it.

I love how you make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible and you don’t do anything to make them feel embarrassed. My very first pedicure (and I actually have nice, taken care of feet) the woman told me that she can’t think about doing pedicures while doing them or she gags.
It used to drive me crazy that you didn't wear gloves lol but yet I still never unsubscribe bc of how patient, kind and knowledgeable you are. Being a future nail technician in training. I absolutely must say I have learned a lot from you and watching your videos has helped me in so many ways. Thank you

Gloves for what? What about all the stuff that pops her in the face, mouth, hair, etc. Her hands can be washed and sanitized after she is done.

Wearing gloves is a must. I’m not sure I would use someone that doesn’t wear them. They could pass on something.

I haven’t worked as a manicurist for a long time, but kept renewing my license just in case i needed it for later one. I ended up going back to work in a nail salon and haven’t dealt with toes in a long and your video has helped and showed me how to deal with different toenails that i have not dealt with. I got so nervous in the beginning going back into the beauty industry but i got comfortable after watching your videos. Thank you so much for the tip!
I learned recently that this person who was a hairdresser about 45 years ago has always kept her license. Comes in very helpful as she is able to volunteer (legally) with dementia patients that are at home (with care givers).

I have never been happier that my mom was a nail tech. How is it American children get taught calculus, but not self care? Why should we be taught to dissect animals to learn their skeletal makeup, before we are taught to care for our own extremities? Thank Lori for teaching people how to care for their own bodies!
I think those things are things you typically learn "at home", from your mother. It's not a school thing, is it? My mom taught me self-care, first how to clean yourself, and wash your hair, comb your hair, and trim your own nails. Then styling the hair. You slowly learn from the bottom up. It comes with growing up and needing to start doing these things for yourself.
Some people (unfortunately) aren’t taught these things at home for one reason or another!

You think this woman’s excessively ingrown toe nail is the result of a failed education system? My toe nails have never looked like this and my mom isn’t a nail tech nor did I have a class on how to clean my toes. Parents, not teachers, have to be held responsible for teaching their kids some basic life skills. Do we need to have a class on showering, too? Where do you draw the line?
@@noawqqw Definitely agree on the fact that "basic life skills" are parents' responsibility! You can't learn everything in school, nor do they even teach that (and it's not the school system's fault). Take for instance how to deal with money and budget. My main subjects were Mathematics and Economics in High School, but I did not learn how to budget "real money" in school, nor did I learn how to fill out my Tax form. I learned that from my mom and through life experience.
I like that you’re the meticulous manicurist. You did a great pedicure on this person feet. I hope you also directed them to see a podiatrist about the ingrown toenail because that is something I don’t think you specialize in. That toe clearly needs a podiatrist to work on it! 😌

I get such bad anxiety when you rub the excess skin off of the tool onto the towel and not all of it comes off and it goes back on the toe 🙈it comes off eventually but in my head I’m like, “nooooo!” Hahah

Ela é técnica de unhas e não podóloga. Diferente do Brasil, a manicure de lá não tem permissão de remover cutículas. E podologia é uma área da medicina e não curso técnico como aqui. Se ela realizar procedimentos carniceiros iguais ao que estamos acostumados aqui no Brasil, ela pode sofrer um processo e perder a licença. Ela realiza os procedimentos que estão cabíveis a formação dela somente, que são procedimentos mais superficiais e de tratamento a longo prazo, que geram alívio ao cliente e melhoram a estética das unhas.

It's def not click bait.. She can't cut into the toe to remove it as she is not licensed to do so. She has demonstrated a conservative approach to management of these problems. She knows when she is out of her league & needs to refer someone to a podiatrist. She is VERY good at what she does and by watching her videos & using her products I cured my own fungal infection & ingrown toenail in 7 months (after trying OTC products for 2 years).

I used too get even worse ingrown toenails. For like a year straight in high school omg. I was too afraid to go to the doctor to get it cut off. I finally learned to stuff the corners of my nails with cotton until the corners grew out. I used to limp. Poor younger me.

I love watching these type of videos, but I hate how I instantly tense up and automatically hold my breath as if it's my toes that's being worked on.
I used to have extremely bad ingrown on both of my big toes when I was younger and would dig them out myself to the point I would make my toes bleed, but the relief of the ingrown being out was "worth it" at the time for me. The last time I dug an ingrown out, it got infected. I was in the 6th grade. After my toe being infected for a week and in extreme pain, I finally showed my mother and we went to my doctor who permanently cut out the sides of my toe nails on both of my big toes and did something that made the side of my nails no longer grown back. I'm 30 years old now and no longer get ingrown on my big toes and it was the BEST thing I've ever had done. The relief, comfort and plain joy of no longer feeling that pain the ingrown causes, is wonderful.
So satisfying seeing all that crud come out!! I would LOVE to get a pedicure from you😍

It looks like they had an ingrown toenail at some point and the granulated tissue wasn’t cut away so it healed over the toe.

Gloves are not required per state board. Fungus needs time and a specific environment to grow. Before and after a service, I wash and sanitize my hands which mitigates any transfer. Personally, I prefer the improved dexterity of not wearing gloves. Personal human touch is an important element of my services. How do you determine when an ingrown toenail is safe to work on and when it's a contraindication? School is telling me an ingrown is straight up a contraindication.
