The Stooges are the best......my grandpa would laugh so hard his false teeth would almost fall out. He's long gone, I'm 50 now......but watching The Three Stooges shorts reminds me of sitting with him as a child and laughing our asses off......thanks for doing this homie.....warms my heart✌️
My grandfather got me into Three Stooges when I was young. Today, I have just about every short film that they made in my collection. The series of films were considered violent back then. We look at it today as good clean comedy. There's one time me and my friends were able to mimic them at a restaurant one time. We were waiting for a table and as the people got tables opened for them, the host, who was an elderly guy, would come and would call the name of the party and people would walk up to the little booth, and he would say, "this way ladies and/or gentlemen." So we came up with the idea because we remember every time The Three Stooges were called by gentlemen, they would look behind themselves. Well, he called our party and we walked up to the booth, and as expected, "this way gentlemen," he said. We all looked behind ourselves and as we did, the man died laughing. He knew exactly who we were imitating. As we followed him, his shoulders were bobbing up and down, and as we got to our booth, he turned around and pointed with his hand for us to sit and his face was so red from laughing. He tried to say something, but he couldn't stop laughing. He returned later and told us he hadn't laughed like that in years and he loved The Three Stooges.
Other Stooges gems (among many) you need to check out: "Three Little Beers" "Three Little Pigskins" "Grips, Grunts and Groans" "We Want Our Mummy" "No Census, No Feeling"
The theme at the beginning and end is iconic to them. It's part of the Stooges. Every episode has it, or a slight variation of it. They have so many great skits!!! So funny! And so physical! They were truly talented both in delivery and in the wonderful antics they performed!
I’ve seen them all. Disorder In The Court is my favorite. Curly was a comedy genius, brother Shemp dropped out which brought in Curly by luck. Moe, Curly, and Shemp are brothers. Larry really did play violin and piano.
This show is from 1936. I'm very good with Roman numerals. That's 88 years ago! Originally this was not in color. Colonizing became popular in the late 70s, early 80s. It doesn't always work well. The shadowing that was done intentionally doesn't work for color. I grew up watching reruns of these guys every Sunday after dinner. At almost 66, I've had to have seen every episode at least 50 times. They never get old.
Classic and hilarious bit. And btw, the stereotype is that women don't like the 3 Stooges. Nevertheless, my beautiful wife LOVES watching the Stooges and laughs out loud at their stupid slapstick pranks. So there. Thanks for your reaction. (and they always had beautiful women doing ridiculous things)
Great to see people nowadays watching the Stooges. The one thing I enjoyed about my father was him and I watching the Stooges. I’ll certainly never get tired of them!
They started in Live Theatre, and they had to be bigger and louder. So people could hear them in the back. So when filming came along, everything was bigger and funnier. Classic slapstick comedy
This video is standard "Court Proceedings 101'" at all major law schools across the country. It's considered the number-one instructional video on how court should operate.
I like to collect old 8 mm. films/movies & about 15 years ago,, I bought a box of mixed movies,, I found this movie & "Planet Of The Apes" both in perfect condition.
The 3 Stooges were known for their New Yorker style of comedy. They except for Larry Fine who was born in Philadelphia were born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, NYC. My old hometown of NYC is known for its fast paced lifestyle and the comedy reflects it.😊
Between the 5 - 3 Stooges, Laurel and Hardy, and Abbott and Costello sundays, after early church was filled with laughter in my home. Saturday mornings had the Little Rascals and Looney Tunes, after.
The three Stooges --- Moe, Larry and Curly - always remember there is NOTHING serious ever in the stooges bits, it was just meant to be slapstick comedy and laughs just for the sake of laughs
Larry's face actually had a callous from being slapped so many times. But during their stage shows before film, he complained to Moe to hit him harder so the people in the back could hear it.
Back in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s etc...., TALENTED people were found among people in big Cities because planes, busses etc were hard to find and very expensive. Unlike these days we're people can record at home, fly around the World etc... 🌎 People could not travel quickly and around the World easily. These people that acted were in several movies and TV shows etc at the same time. As a matter of fact, you may have noticed that in the 80s also. The equipment, cameras, musical instruments, stages and stage equipment were very large, heavy and difficult to transport. They had way less business to sponsor them. Film was costly and had to be used sparingly. They could only afford just so many retakes. Actors, Actresses, Singers, Musicians, dancers, Directors and Producers, etc literally worked their butt's off!!!! So, we need to appreciate and value their talent. We can ever forget these Brilliant Legends!!! ❤
I love old movies and shows. It's interesting how theatre and silent film style acting were so influential in the early talkie films. The acting is very over exaggerated but it has its charm.
little secret of the three stooges the slap across the face is real and so is the sound. Moes hand would be so loose that when he slapped someone it made that sound, and it didn't even hurt the person he slapped.
You'll also want to see "Calling Doctor Howard, Doctor Fine, Doctor Howard" where the Stooges are probationary doctors assigned to a hospital after they've flunked out of medical school three times. Caution: You may accidentally bruise some ribs by laughing.
Three Stooges started out in the days of Vaudeville. Both Moe & Curly are brothers in real life. Larry Fine (one with curly hair) worked with Moe in Vaudeville with brothers' other brother name Shemp. Brothers' birth names are Moe Howard (Moses Horowitz), Curly Howard (Jerome Horowitz), and Larry Fine (Louis Feinberg) plus Howards' other brother, Shemp Howard (Samuel Horowitz). Stooges did a ton of movie shorts and movies in their long career until Moe & Larry died in 1975. Curly died very young in 1952 at the age of 48. His brother, Shemp died in 1955 at 60 years old. Even though all of them died many years ago, but their iconic comedy will live on.......
Louis Feinberg aka Larry Fine was actually classically trained violinist. When Larry was a child, his arm was accidentally burn with hydrochloric acid. His father had the acid to use in jewelry. Larry thought it was a drink, but his father knocks it out from his hand and splatter on his arm. Larry's parents gave him violin lessons to strengthen his arm muscles. Plus, Larry started to learn boxing in continue in strengthen his arm. Larry won one bout, but his father ended his career in boxing because he hated fighting in public.
A little trivia on this short: The 'Stradivarius' Larry was talking about is a violin. Just about the finest ever made. They are in big demand among musicians. Many are known to be sold for millions of dollars. Plus, Moe and Curly's real father is in the court room audience. He can be seen at 12:08. He's in the front row at the right with a mustache and glasses.
My dad used to say, 'if we could accurately translate the 3 Stooges into other languages, the world would understand Americans so much better.' and I still believe that.
Love reaction!! ♥Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Please dont forget Victor Wooten??? ♥
Youve missed so much if youve never seen the three stooges, they used to show them in movie theaters before the movie and later on TV - they are slapstick comedy legends, fortunately youre watching one with Curly, in later years he became ill and Shemp Howard had to replace him, its a long story familiar to us from the era but todays youth know little to nothing of them, they did many many "shorts" like these
If you like classic comedy, try Laurel and Hardy. They made the funniest movies ever! They also started out in the silent era and went on to success in the sound era. A good one to start with is "The Music Box."
Back during this time, The 3 Stooges, The Marx Brothers etc went to "Clown School"... Circus 🎪 training. As well as acting, music 🎶 etc. Also, back then, TV, movies 🎬 etc were expensive and talented actors weren't always readily available. Most Actors and Actresses had to be able to sing, dance, act, play musical instruments etc to qualify. 😅😅😅😅😅 Very brilliant Actresses and Actors in these days. There used to be a saying, "These Actors and Actresses had to be very smart in order to act 'that stupid '!!!! 😅😅😅😅😅
While the Stooges' whole filmography is good, three other shorts of theirs - "Sing a Song of Six Pants", "Brideless Groom", and "Malice in the Palace" - are in the public domain, so you should be able to watch them without worrying about getting dinged regarding copyright. And for some comedy that's a bit different, you might like "Headlines", a recurring segment from Jay Leno's tenure as host of "The Tonight Show". There are a few "Best of" compilations floating around; they're a bit lengthy, but you can always break them up into shorter segments.
I still watch them every Saturday evening on MeTV. I grew up watching them. I'm 72 and they are still funny and performed all their stunts and gags.
if you're till watching them, you haven't grown up lol
@@thomastimlin1724 Lighten Up Karen.

Curly was the true comic genius of The Stooges. He could make me laugh just with a bowl of soup.
"Take off your hat." "Raise your right hand." Curly was my favorite of the group, even if, in real life, he was pretty shy.
Him tumbling in the 🪑 has been living rent free in my head for 25+ years 😂😂😂😂.
This is great I've been a stooges fan my whole life watch any younger person watch it and enjoying it give me hope for humanity

The Three Stooges are the GOAT! ❤️
There are hundreds of these shorts from them. This was one of their earliest ones.

You saying, "he's slapping the shit out of him" made me laugh as much as the 3 Stooges did.
Actor Edward LeSaint plays the judge in this, he was also the judge in "Reefer Madness".

The character of Larry, which was Larry Fine really was a violinist
One of the laughing witnesses was played by the father of Moe and Curly.

Stooges movie not good. Stooges are priceless
Comedy was funnier in those days.

This is probably oldest clip I've seen anyone react to.
