For the reliability point, there is another factor: Optimization. The more you optimize certain components (engine, transmision, gearbox, etc.) for top of the class performance, the higher the wear of certain components will be. If you build a naturally aspirated v12 that revs up to 10000 rpm, it won't last as long as a v6 that only revs up to 6000 and delivers 20% of the performance having the same weight. Of course, this is not an exclusive reason. Of course Ferrari and other luxury sports car manufacturers could do a better job of quality controll on many occasions. But no matter how perfect they build their parts, due to performance and weight optimization, they won't ever last as long as regular, good, reliable engines (same goes for really high performance Japanese cars as well)
used to drive a 2002 skoda the remotes stopped working at one point and later the lock seized up and i broke both keys. still made it past 350000km by the time i sold it, it's probably someones donor now.
Feels bad having a 20 year old car get called old, it's the newest i've had. Locks still work though! Mostly... Key works 100% fine, not getting locked out, just the motor for it is weak so the button fails a lot.

The Monte Carlo from Tokyo Drift is a great example of Broke Car Guy life. Well 50/50 between that and the Teenage Car Guy life. It’s a beater, built up with only the essentials. Stripped interior, drag tires, unpainted primer and a big block. It displays that even on a budget, you can still enjoy modding your car.
when the mods break, you won't be on a budget, after market companies only want to milk money out of your pocket by selling you parts that don't fit, or fail and break.
Nice video! I would also add that Ferraris and Lamborghinis break down a lot more because of the incredible mechanical strain. The cars are like engineering at its limit. Most car engines can be tuned and modified because they are built to be reliable so someone like Honda design and build an engine (it’s not only about the engines but let’s go with that) that could produce like 290bhp but they limit it to 150 (that’s an extreme example) so they compensate for the possible faults in manufacturing of these engines so it is very robust and reliable but supercar companies can’t do that. They fight literally for tenths of seconds so they need to push the car so there’s not so much space for mistakes during. In a Honda 0,1mm in their engine would cause the car to consume a bit more oil but in a Ferrari it’s instantly an engine fault that limits its functionality and it produces much less hp and you need to repair it.
My dad bought a 2012 jaguar xjl portfolio edition and after 3 months of ownership it was starting to fall apart and now he has a hellcat instead. So you can buy an exotic and expect greatness but after 30 000 miles it will most likely break if you daily drive it
Another part of the reliability equation is that many exotics are implementing new, relatively untested technologies and designs, whereas something like a Corvette is still using a tried and true pushrod V8. It might not be exciting, but it's proven to be reliable.

@@confusepanda3718 First of all you never mentioned sleeper. Secondly, doesn't matter you can do all the light/heavy changes all you want. Most broke car "builds" arent distributed according to the new engine swap/power levels at chassis level like OEM supercars are. So my point still stands.

It`s sorta similar with expensive boots. $40 sneakers will fit your feet perfectly straight out of the box but $200 boots are absolute pain to wear for like first 10 days because they need to be broken in. Also leather boots requires maintenance in order to make them last.
9:57 The guy said that they'll have a Ferrari and be laughing at people with Corvettes,Toyotas,Nissans etc. meanwhile my car is laughing in 1989 Toyota Camry at this guy
@Chaminda Thushara Ruwan Kasturi I don't think a Ferrari is more comfortable than a Camry, a Ferrari is harder to get in because it's low and it has extremely hard suspension. The seats are also designed to give you support instead of being comfortable.

7:39 I used to hate locking myself out of my last vehicle so I went and had four spares made. One to my dad, one to my mother, an extra in my room, and one in my wallet lol.
Man, that whole door lock thing. I remember i just came back from work and stopped by a diner. And when im done eating, my keyfob died. And for some reason, if you lock the car with a fob but open it with a key, the alarm gors off. Now i can try to drive it home with a EARPIERCING ALARM. But it was late night, i might as well waking my neighbours when i rolled into my home. Ended up waking my mom from sleep to bring me the spare key. And i got home, with a bruised ego.
About DLC in modern games, it is because the highest price for games to public still stagnant for more than decade (US$60), but the development cost are much higher than last decade, so other contents are locked behind DLC as option for players and I still can accept that. But locking contents behind RNG lootboxes are the pure greed of the company.
I actually know a guy who pretty much dailies his exotic cars. SVJ? He's taking it to work. 1/1 Murcie? Yup taking that to work. 675LT? Yup. Senna? Yup. Hell he's taken his Senna on a cross country trip I think he has said and it has over 10k miles on it. And now he's getting a 765LT and a Gordon Murray Automotive T50 next year which I guarantee he'll be driving that as well. He used to have a Rolls Royce for a daily but sold that. I don't know if he has replaced it, cus the only cars I've seen him in after he said he sold it have been his supercars and hypercar
When I saw the title I thought this was about wealthy people who buy much cheaper cars than the ones they could afford if they wanted to... like Warren Buffet who keeps driving used cars or Bezos who doesn't like conspicuous cars, either... In your list of cars stripped down for extra money, you could also mention many Porsche special editions coming without aircon or radio and have leather straps instead of normal inner door handles. I remember reading (though I man bei mistaken here) that they even go easy in the underseal to save weight... brilliant. If who would drive his sportscars in the rain, anyway?

7:39 I used to hate locking myself out of my last vehicle so I went and had four spares made. One to my dad, one to my mother, an extra in my room, and one in my wallet lol.
That Employe at the Chick-Fil-a deseerves a medal
Man, that whole door lock thing. I remember i just came back from work and stopped by a diner. And when im done eating, my keyfob died. And for some reason, if you lock the car with a fob but open it with a key, the alarm gors off. Now i can try to drive it home with a EARPIERCING ALARM. But it was late night, i might as well waking my neighbours when i rolled into my home.
Ended up waking my mom from sleep to bring me the spare key.
And i got home, with a bruised ego.
I like how bladed sprinkles some w̶e̶e̶b̶ ̶s̶h̶i̶t̶ *culture* , here and there
Good channel I'm a casual teen car guy and really good teaching for my future
Hehe got 18! Got my license and was sliding around roundabouts with my ff 95 toyota starlet

About DLC in modern games, it is because the highest price for games to public still stagnant for more than decade (US$60), but the development cost are much higher than last decade, so other contents are locked behind DLC as option for players and I still can accept that.
But locking contents behind RNG lootboxes are the pure greed of the company.
Honestly I thought that Aston was a Ford Fusion
I used to think that too lmao
Because of the similarities from the front grill
Because Aston was owned by Ford. 😕
The guy that designed the fusion was the same one to destin the db9
Where I live, having no tire trim at all is straight up illegal, you gotta have at least a 6mm deep trimming
Nice Ted talk
When I saw the title I thought this was about wealthy people who buy much cheaper cars than the ones they could afford if they wanted to... like Warren Buffet who keeps driving used cars or Bezos who doesn't like conspicuous cars, either...
In your list of cars stripped down for extra money, you could also mention many Porsche special editions coming without aircon or radio and have leather straps instead of normal inner door handles. I remember reading (though I man bei mistaken here) that they even go easy in the underseal to save weight... brilliant. If who would drive his sportscars in the rain, anyway?
6:58 this reminds me of how a certain Corvette Z** started off in the late '90s
