First of all, I love the odd couple bond forming between Sestia and Nikhil! They're such different types of people, and it's such a delight to see them backing each other up as a social duo (and a well rounded one, at that). Also, it was so much fun to see the two groups tactically reveal info the others didn't know from their previous fights at the beginning. It was very entertaining to have two separate episodes of secret back story and character development as these two groups met for the first time. It's super interesting to see how the full group of six navigates its way through not knowing how the original sets of 3 bonded in their first encounters!

Three more things now that I've finished the episode: 1. Sestia telling O. Honey (that's Lenore's name in my head and you can't change that with things like "facts" or "character sheets") that Nikhil's father is the Tuber Lord gave me flashbacks to when I once played a low-int, low-wis barbarian. He was from a desert tribe, so when our party was warned about hill giants, he was like, "What's a hill giant?" A party member decided to screw with him and say they're giants the size of massive hills. He rolled deception vs my insight... which I rolled very low on in addition to my negative modifier. The entire campaign, my guy was convinced hill giants were actually the size of hills, and was terrified of the idea. At one point, we finally encountered a hill giant, and he was like, "Hey! They're not that big!" To which the party guy responded instantly, "That's just because he's a baby!" I didn't even roll to check on that one. I just assumed my guy believed it, sighed, and rolled initiative 😂 2. O. Honey actually successfully saved Ekon this time! TWICE! Miraculous day! 3. For a moment, Evan Kelmp returned with his bird facts 😂 I love that Aabria can never escape Kelmp's tortures, even in an entirely new campaign in a new world with a new DM and new characters 😂
But without any of the "leave every place better than you found it" energy of Molly. Plus, Mollymauk only had a Charisma score of 11, so he wasn't actually naturally charming. (Although to be fair, Tal played him as if he was more charismatic, the stats just didn't back up the RP mechanically.)
I don't normally have the patience to sit through people playing TTRPGs, and I'm quite an old-school gamer, having started off with AD&D or First Ed as it's no called. But I've watched all 3 of these and it's really interesting to see alternative ways to play, especially the modern way, heavily-weighted toward the role-playing. Jasmine - you are an awesome DM and your style gives me lots of food for thought as to how I will DM in the future!
I think it's safe to say at this point that heavily weighted to role-play is less an alternative and more the norm. Though I do understand where you might be coming from as players from the older editions were still being influenced by D&d's wargame roots. It's now generally agreed that the rules should facilitate the story rather than vice versa. D&d has evolved a lot over the years.
@@brianbarber9218 i think an equal mixture of all elements is the best for me and my friends. I’ve been playing 40 years (almost) but the idea of zero combat (such as The Wild Beyond The Witchlight) intrigues yet baffles me. Why play a barbarian at all? Might as well be an accountant!
@@Geraint3000 I get that. But D&d serves as the gateway for all TTRPGs a lot of the time so it's important for it to offer a range of experiences. Also, we're learning more and more though various studies and trials how incredibly beneficial role-playing can be psychologically. For kids and teens it has been shown to help autistic and socially anxious kids develope social skills and empathy. Role-playing is a profound tool for healing and personal growth. You ask why be a barbarian in a purely social game, but lemme put it this way... if you wanna slice up people with an axe, you can do that in a video game. If you're going through the effort of gathering several actual human beings together to play a game where you pretend to be other people, then it makes sense to do things that are only possible with other people, rather than just kill stuff which you can do in thousands of video games on the market. Anyway you haven't said anything I disagree with, just offering my perspective.
@@DnDBeyond Aw that’s nice 🙂! I’ll let you into a secret. A year ago I was diagnosed with a rare dementia called Frontotemporal Dementia Semantic Variant. I’ve had to give up my job as a stonemason (restorer of historical buildings) and now I’ve immersed myself in TTRPGs. I devour content on sites such as D&D Beyond, but my affliction makes assimilating information both written and aural increasingly difficult. I take in everything Brian says wholeheartedly, but I will always be shallow enough to kill monsters and nick their treasure. But hey, that’s me 😉
Damn... this quickly just became my new fave miniseries. I would love for more of this world DM'd by Jasmine and played by this cast and more! It is also so fun seeing Aabria and Brennan for the first time actually playing on the same side of the table, helping each other rather than trying to kill each other as DM vs player lol.
Bronze has done it again! This episode has everything! A wide variety of NPCs, atmosphere, jokes, character growth, thirsty eyebrow daddies and then a battle that is so captivating that I was upset we have to wait for more! What a great cast and what a great show!
How do you challenge a table of PCs played by mostly forever DMs? Create a legendary warrior that sounds like Zangief and fights like The Avatar. This episode was outrageous in all the right ways. It sucks that it ended with a cliffhanger, but that's because it's jam packed with incredible character work. Don't believe me? The DM confirmed it herself in the comments. Bronze is just the best (bringing another wonderful goblin character with relatable allergy issues) and our cast keeps on bringing us wonderful moments. Keep up the great work ladies and gentlemen!
My jaw dropped when the Architect made that offer. Literally. And....by the end of the conversation I wished he'd take it. Who here thought he would? I mean the first time he turned it down, it felt like that was Ify was maintaining player courtesy. The second time, too. But you could tell it was harder to justify it as a character. The third time, I was like damn, how does he In-Character turn this down at all?? He had to pull deep. And by that point I was hoping he'd say yes. It's late so this might not be as smoothly typed as I usually try...I shall stop now.
I am always feeling outside, but when I am in the DND community I feel like a part of a team. And especially when I watch people playing DND online. So thank you.
Watching Aabria at 55:14 talking about blighting a tree after EXU: Calamity is bloody hilarious, really enjoying this series. Great performances by everyone.
This series is so great I swear! Awesome casting this group is so much fun because you never know where anything is going lol its like a car going down a mountain you just let go of the wheel
Same, I also love their chemistry together lol. Also its rlly interesting to see two rlly popular DM’s playing together as characters. Jasmine is phenomenal, never heard of her b4 this
I love the campaign so far, but I'd love it if we could also see the battlemap during combat. There might not be a proprietary DNDBeyond-branded VTT but some visual aid would be nice.
I gotta say, I am 100% going to use ladles instead of spoons when I talk about spoon theory from now on. I just don't have the ladles to deal with this today.
I love the Big Eyebrow Daddy joke but how is no one talking about that insane dialogue between a tree and Brennan, how tf is that improv that is amazingly hilarious. Even the DM couldn’t help but break laughing
Absolutely love this! Love the players, love the DM, everything's great! The only thing is sometimes when someone's talking, like Brennan, they get really quiet and even with my laptop volume all the way up, I can't quite make out what they're saying? And the captions don't seem to pick it up either? I feel like I'm missing stuff.
I am late to this episode, but so glad I got to it today, because I absolutely needed a laugh. (Or many laughs. Many many laughs.) This cast continues to delight. I love the chaotic mix of horny, terrible, and heartwarming they all manage. (Look, some hearts are warmed in different ways than others, don't judge.)
Watching DMs play together is so rewarding because they're all such incredible storytellers and have a fantastic understanding of game mechanics and party cohesion. Plus, you know they're having fun because they're doing what they're normally not able to do.
These are my favorite people doing my favorite thing. Literally the instinct to play with people with a Brennan or Erika personality type is constant. 😋

Not sure what we appreciate more- the kind words about the show or the polite discussion between strangers on the internet!
But hey, that’s me 😉
I started watching this because I'm a big fan of three of these people. I'm continuing to watch because I'm now a fan of seven of them.
Aabria is the best hype woman ever
Nikhil's "Gottem!" at about 15:03 got me 😂
Big Ayda Aguefort energy
Damn... this quickly just became my new fave miniseries. I would love for more of this world DM'd by Jasmine and played by this cast and more! It is also so fun seeing Aabria and Brennan for the first time actually playing on the same side of the table, helping each other rather than trying to kill each other as DM vs player lol.
Late to the party but when Aabria said "bird fact every time" I legit spit took 😂
I'm in stitches everytime Brennan opens his mouth...
Bronze has done it again! This episode has everything! A wide variety of NPCs, atmosphere, jokes, character growth, thirsty eyebrow daddies and then a battle that is so captivating that I was upset we have to wait for more! What a great cast and what a great show!
Aaaaah yay!
brannan droping bird facts and Aabria catching it is great
This whole crew is great. I love Aabria and Brennan’s characters together more than anything.
I love that both Lenore and Leila seem naive about things but in completely different ways.
The captions said the “Battle for Beyoncé” at the end of the episode. Very different show but I’d also watch it
"I'm about to blight that fucking tree" That's forshadowing
Aabria saying I'm gonna blight that tree is some amazing foreshadowing
Jasmine rapidly becoming my favorite person with each episode. Ghost of Tsushima reference this episode was *chef’s kiss*.
Great episode again! Wish we could have gotten to see the RP between Aabria and Josephine and found out why Murdina was upset though
Aabria's comment about blighting a tree was foreshadowing not even she knew of.
the daddy scene yes, ofc. But I fell out the chair over "B-E-A-S-E bees"
That was just one hilarious line after the other, such amazing improv holy crap even the DM lost it
How do you challenge a table of PCs played by mostly forever DMs?
It's late so this might not be as smoothly typed as I usually try...I shall stop now.
i was waiting for him to say yes and then midway through a backstabbing! oooh the drama
My favorite thing is to watch role-play flirting in DnD; especially Brennan- my God!
I am always feeling outside, but when I am in the DND community I feel like a part of a team.
And especially when I watch people playing DND online.
So thank you.
It is a crime that these are only 2 hour arcs. Great stuff.
Specially when there is only one episode a week
Watching Aabria at 55:14 talking about blighting a tree after EXU: Calamity is bloody hilarious, really enjoying this series. Great performances by everyone.
This series is so great I swear! Awesome casting this group is so much fun because you never know where anything is going lol its like a car going down a mountain you just let go of the wheel
Brennan’s casual jackassness is on point😂
Brennan is my favorite person
rewatching this after calamity makes Aabria saying "I'm about to blight that fuckin tree" all the funnier
This is too good. The DM, the characters. 2 hours I'm glad I spent.
Glad you’re digging it!!
@55:15 how little Aabria knew when she uttured the words "I'm gonna blight that fucking tree."
I like how everyone looks liie their PC and then there is Brennan XD
I have to imagine this is what the Olympic Village is like. Literally.
I do want to say I came here for Brennan and Abria. But I love the energy everyone has in this group has.
Same, I also love their chemistry together lol. Also its rlly interesting to see two rlly popular DM’s playing together as characters. Jasmine is phenomenal, never heard of her b4 this
"Don't let him get your waist, OR YOUR HORNS" god, the mental image...
28:20 coach daybreak if you get it you get it
"Jokes on you, cause I like getting slapped!" NIKHIL
brennan being a paladin and a tefeling and having wings is video game rules he knows hes the strongest and is using it lmfao
All seven of these wonderful people are extraordinary together!
I love the campaign so far, but I'd love it if we could also see the battlemap during combat. There might not be a proprietary DNDBeyond-branded VTT but some visual aid would be nice.
That BIG DEATH ENERGY shirt is giving me life.
I gotta say, I am 100% going to use ladles instead of spoons when I talk about spoon theory from now on. I just don't have the ladles to deal with this today.
Sometimes spoons aren’t enough
I love the Big Eyebrow Daddy joke but how is no one talking about that insane dialogue between a tree and Brennan, how tf is that improv that is amazingly hilarious. Even the DM couldn’t help but break laughing
Absolutely love this! Love the players, love the DM, everything's great! The only thing is sometimes when someone's talking, like Brennan, they get really quiet and even with my laptop volume all the way up, I can't quite make out what they're saying? And the captions don't seem to pick it up either? I feel like I'm missing stuff.
The chemistry with the full group is absolutely fantastic
I am late to this episode, but so glad I got to it today, because I absolutely needed a laugh. (Or many laughs. Many many laughs.) This cast continues to delight. I love the chaotic mix of horny, terrible, and heartwarming they all manage. (Look, some hearts are warmed in different ways than others, don't judge.)
Glad the show landed for you when you needed it! 💙💙
That was way awesome y’all, cliff hanger FTW! Such great mojo from the whole gang this campaign too!
Aabria saying shes gonna blight that tree hits different after calamity.
Watching DMs play together is so rewarding because they're all such incredible storytellers and have a fantastic understanding of game mechanics and party cohesion. Plus, you know they're having fun because they're doing what they're normally not able to do.
I can’t tell which group is the Disaster Gay and which one is the Distinguished Gay group.
This Venn Diagram is a circle
I love how one group is the very sexual flirty group and the other is a very innocent wholesome group. XD
not to mention that the innocent wholesome group has Erika Ishii and Ify Nwadiwe on it
It is now my life goal to play with Brennan as a party companion
These are my favorite people doing my favorite thing. Literally the instinct to play with people with a Brennan or Erika personality type is constant. 😋
aabria finally got to blight a tree i love this for her
