Great content here. Have been playing almost daily for about 4/5 years, have even incorporated the KID as part of my black rep and never heard of break moves!! The French and KID make so much more sense now!! I searched “Dan Heisman pawn” as I played a training game this week against a friend (a stronger player) and there were 16 pawns on the board until move 24!! It was a very cagey game! I just knew something was up with my understanding of pawn play. So glad to have watched this video, keep up the great work!
Yes, today we call them Pawn breaks, or just "break moves". When Kmoch wrote his Classic Pawn Power in Chess may years ago, that terminology had not yet been common, so he called them "liberating levers".
Thanks, much appreciated. Understanding break moves is the only "intermediate" strategic concept that is pretty much required for players even at a lower level because it can/should occur several times each game.
Yes, thanks. After the first few videos (of which "Break Moves" is one) I switched to a more powerful microphone and after that everyone said the videos made after that had good audio.
Thanks for watching. Want more? Check out my award-winning video on Making Better Chess Moves th-cam.com/video/JnA-5qPDq7s/w-d-xo.html
This is the best chess stuff that i have stubbled upon? Why only 2.7K subs?!
The channel is only a little over 19 months old, but I appreciate if you help spread the word :)

Eric, thanks. Great to hear from you. Hope all is doing well :)
Once again very instructive. You may make another complete video about pawn structures :)
That's more like a 20-video series (or more) :)
Maybe "Intro to pawn structures" :)
